Hmmm... I'd look at the calories for "cleaning, moderate effort".....I thought about "gardening, general" but that might give you TOO many calories. Better to go under than over, esp. if you are eating back your calories! :)

no fitness guru but lean muscle usually is less weight, more reps vs. bulk usually is more weight, less rep (that's uber-simplified...perhaps you should ask a trainer!). but I agree with the majority of the other ladies here...lean and muscular is much better than bulky.

I don't know about other shelters, but at our shelter we offer "respite" fostering where someone, once "approved", can take out a dog for a day or long weekend. I would ask about this option, as well!

I agree with other posters to go by a healthy body fat. Weight is so subjective esp. if you have a big frame or are muscular (since muscle weighs more than fat).
