Preach it, Brother J. I *LOVE* that you eat Taco Bell (yes, I went and took a peek! ) and other "junk." Though many here would disagree (and I may be opening myself up to a bunch of comments against what I am about to say), IMO, weighing less eating Taco Bell is still better than being obese.

How practical. And such common sense. I think I love you. When I become frustrated with my progress, I remind myself that it took me 5+ years to put on 100 pounds and I am not going to lose it in 5 weeks. "Healthy" weight loss is considered to be 2 lbs per week so it seems to me you are right on track.

Thanks so much! I appreciate the advice... we have a YMCA locally so I will try there.

HA. What a perfect match. It takes a weirdo to spot a weirdo.

Director of Development and Marketing for a regional humane society. I don't make a ton of money compared to what I could be doing, but I love that I am making a difference in the lives of animals.

Like doing something daring. **that was for the pretty girl with red hair**

This link goes to slow cooker only recipes: http://punchfork.com/recipes/slow-cooker Many there by Skinny Taste (a great site!) and you could probably investigate the others and "skinny them up" if needed. Good luck!

Website..... http://www.bellplantation.com/ Buy the bulk pack. Trust me. You can also buy it on Amazon. Again, it's not like "real" peanut butter but for the calories, I find it to be a remarkably good substitute. You can also mix it in smoothies!

I started at 274 and am 5'10. I have lost 30 lbs. and am still in a (very baggy esp. at the waist!) 22/24. An 18/20 is still too snug to be comfortable. Like the OP, I can only wear my chinos/jeans once before I have to wash them because they stretch out so much + are too baggy! lol I am thinking another 10-15 pounds. In…

^^This. And many chain restaurants now have nutritional info on their websites. It requires some planning ahead but takes off the pressure when the menus come. I usually have a choice A and choice B just in case choice A is no longer on the menu or I change my mind! lol

Excellent job! Keep on keeping on is really the best way. :)

I think it is more this rather than jealously. People get angry with themselves because they don't/won't try and instead of using their anger to motivate them, they turn it on the person who is succeeding. I have a similar situation. A very good friend (who I also work with) and I both needed to lose weight and we talked…

Ditto. On days when I feel like giving up, it's stories like yours that keep me going. It really is just about "keep on keeping on."

tagging for later!

Well, didn't think about carbs.... I guess that would be refined white carbs. Sorry about closed diary....having some issues that I am trying to work through and just need to be 100% honest with my logging and felt the need to close my diary for a while.

Tagging for later! But I also have a question: After reading through your replies about protein, if I weigh 247 pounds, how much protein should I be eating each day on a 1,830 calorie plan? MFP says 69, and I am usually around 100. Should I be eating more? I am 43, exercising 4x/week on average with a least two days of…

I've just noticed this week that I have "saggy butt" issues....all my pants are drooping under my backside because I have lost weight. My grandmother used to say when someone had a flat butt that it looked like "a band of gypsies had moved out." Guess I didn't see that caravan moving on!

Now I. Love. You. :flowerforyou:

This too. I have a great relationship with my husband, and a greater love affair with food.

This reply was extremely thoughtful and really resonated with me. Thank you for posting. "Redefining ones relationship with food" ....that is exactly what I feel like I have been doing. For me, it's the difference between "eating to live" and "living to eat."

"Not caring about how I looked. You gain slowly, 10-15 lbs per year. Over the span of years of overeating, you look up and you've gained a lot of weight. I gained 140 lbs over a 11 year span." This was more or less it for me, too. I have never been thin, but was fairly fit for my height when younger. When I married, 16…

^That? Made me LOL. I think I love you. On another note, there is no way this post is serious. If it is serious, I am sad. On so many levels.

Another one from same band: "Really love your peaches, wanna shake your tree"

"Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end." Sort of appropriate for MFPers! :) I also love this one: "I dreamt about you last night, and I fell out of bed twice"

My boobs were huge and saggy BEFORE I started this journey so I don't think I will mind that they are after, too! :) I am embarrassed for anyone to see me naked now (super heavy) too. What's worse....skin that is bumpy and jiggly or saggy?? You look great now but, more importantly, you are healthy and feel better too (I…

^Yep. Great with cut up veggies or crackers or pretzels for a snack. Good on a bagel. Great on sandwich thins with egg, spinach and turkey bacon for breakfast. They have a cream cheese version too. You can get three packs at Costco and Sam's that are very affordable.Keeps my cheese cravings in check.
