Hydrow rower here. Just got my Hydrow in December and love it.

Hi! I'm 50, and I've been with MFP for a while. I've ridden horses almost all my life, and this past year I've been heavily into boxing (sort of MMA kickboxing, not cardio). I want to lose around 40 lbs. Please feel free to add me, especially if you're interested in the same sports, but even if you're not  Also, my…

@luckypony71 that's my problem too. My belly messes everything up, lol. I like my tuffrider low rise ribb breeches. They are stretchy and forgiving. Very comfortable. I have about 10 pairs of breeches hanging in my closet and these are the ones I reach for every time. I should just pack away all the others but I won't…

I have a friend who lost lots of weight with the 5:2 diet. She's close to my age and she's been able to keep it off for years. She looks great, a real inspiration. So I'm trying that. You only eat 500 calories two days a week, the other 5 days you don't deny yourself, but you do try to keep it healthy and moderate.

@showjumper , ugh I know. There are a few still out there on clearance, at some of the online tack stores. I like them because of the rounded toe. They are so stinking comfortable.

@crimsongrey I think it's amazing that you're going to work for a trainer. I hope you share some stories with us when you get there, so I can live vicariously through you, lol.
-
@Mouse_Potato that is amazing, how long have you been doing the aerial work? I am pretty jealous right now, lol!
-
@showjumper no, I haven't but I will check it out, thanks!

Everyone's horses are so beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

I'm in a small town in western North Carolina. About 2 hours west of Asheville, and 2 hours west of Tryon. There is nothing here, horse related. There are some beautiful trails though. I have big plans to get a nice arena built, and set up a small jump field. I would love to have a CT here eventually; I would love to do a…

I'm an x-ray tech. There are a lot of medical people here! Since I've moved, I'm semi-retired and love it.

@tmcoyle I know what you mean! I used to do boot camp workout classes at the gym with the same instructor who teaches kickboxing. This was before I took KB classes, and I am super uncoordinated. So yes, I grazed my own chin a couple of times. Felt so silly, but I've come to realize no one is watching. Lol.

I love my Ariat winter boots, Brossards I think. Unfortunately I think they are discontinued, so I am looking for an extra pair to buy in case they disappear. I've heard Mountain Horse boots are really warm.

Wow! Beautiful horses! This is my paint Tyko, he's my bud. Back when we were both a little fitter. But I was still out of shape.

Kickboxing! Just started a few months ago but it's definitely my favorite. I also run on the treadmill with my Couch to 5K program that I never finish, I just start it over occasionally, after I miss too many days at the gym. I also love weightlifting and yoga. Well, I don't LOVE yoga, I get impatient. But I love how it…

@luckypony71 I just want to hug you, lol! I am the same way, very timid. The older we get, the less we bounce. I have been very lucky to find a few trainers who do not mind taking it slow and being very patient with me. In eventing, It's not unusual to find a trainer who only wants their students to move up quickly through…

Hi! It's so great to see riders close to my age here. I'll be 50 in a few months. I've been riding since I was about 10, stopping in my late teens and picking it back up in my 30s. I started out in hunters, but when I got back into it I switched to eventing. I struggled to overcome balance and strength issues, not just…

My horse and I both need to lose some weight. My short term goal is getting back on after a long hiatus.
