I have the Zip and I LOVE it. When I first got it (almost 2 months ago), it was shocking to see how little I was moving during the day. Like, 2000-3000 steps max. Now I'm averaging closer to ~13,000 per day. It's definitely motivational!

Lollapalooza #3, 1993, Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA. Complete with Rage Against the Machine, Fishbone, Arrested Development, Alice in Chains, Primus... and lots of things a 14 year-old girl and her 2 best friends probably shouldn't have seen.

Serious tie between: Led Zeppelin Manu Chao Sean Hayes But if I had to pick one I'd probably go with Led Zeppelin... too bad there are no future releases to look forward to, though!

Hiked the Pedro Point Headlands along the CA coast a couple weekends ago. Although I now have a wicked case of poison oak from it, the hike was beautiful and totally worth it! The yin-yang of sky/sea and land Looking south at Devil's Slide Dominating my friends on the hills - I think this new exercise regime is working!…

Every once in awhile I'll make this on a weekday, but usually on weekends (when I have more time), I make this (imagine it stacked up, from bottom to top): 0.5 english muffin, 1 tbs chevre, 0.25 avocado, 1 slice of tomato, a little red onion, a poached egg, raw spinach, and 1 tbs salsa. The whole thing is ~250 calories, 25…

The Fitbit should do that automatically. If you have it set up to sync with MFP, it will also send those active minutes/calories burned into MFP, giving you calories you can eat back.

I was just going to post it for you but I see you moved the image... ah well.

Congrats! Happy to have you as one of my friends here - love all your inspirational posts and notes and cheers!

I've been a vegetarian for 20 years and in the last 8 years or so started adding seafood back into my diet as a source of protein since my body doesn't react well to too much soy proteins. Feel free to add me!

I've found that if I've been sedentary for awhile (I don't know the time limits on all of these), I get a face with the tongue sticking out. :P If I've taken some amount of steps for some amount of time (again, don't know the time/step limits), then I get the smiling face. :) If I've been really active, then I get the…

I've had a Fitbit Zip for about a month and a half now. When I first got it, it really opened my eyes to how little I was moving at work - I would often end my 8.5-hour work day with around 2000 steps, and then just go home and relax for the rest of the evening. Once I added people from MFP as friends on Fitbit, my…

I love this! I'm such a data visualizing/analyzing nerd... everything is better with graphs! I'll have to do this with my own stats at some point.

I love my Fitbit Zip - it really motivates me to move more and make sure I get in 10,000+ steps a day!

No, the Fitbit also comes with a bluetooth dongle to connect to your computer, so you can sync it that way. The smartphone is just nice to monitor progress throughout the day, but definitely not necessary.

I've been thinking about getting that app, since I'm interested in starting C25K and I looooooove all things zombie - how is it?? Nice Lady Rainicorn ticker, btw!

I went to Humboldt for grad school - spent a lot of time hiking in those redwoods! I've also lived in the redwoods in the Santa Cruz Mountains as well. There really is nothing like a hike under those trees.

I do!

I'll add a +1 for a Fitbit as well. Once I saw how little I was really moving during the day (I too, sit at a desk in front of a computer most of the time for my job), I got motivated to find ways to fit in more walking/running during the day - to reach 10,000 steps every day. Running in place at home before going to work.…

I went on a 5+ mile hike yesterday, 2 miles of which were going uphill. I hike 2-3 times per month, but for the first time in a long time, I didn't have to stop to rest on the way up.

I'm at a job where most days I could sit at my desk for 8 hours and only get up to go to meetings to use the bathroom. Once I got my Fitbit it really became obvious how little I was moving during the day - I'd usually get only around 3000 steps. So, I started taking breaks during my work day where I'd get up and walk for…

That picture was the first egg I've ever poached! I wanted to figure it out just so I could create this stack of yumminess I'd planned out in my head. It's not that hard to poach an egg. It's hard to make a pretty-looking poached egg, but just poaching an egg itself is not so difficult. I used Google to…

I loooooove the Old Navy wide-leg yoga pants. They don't look like yoga pants, they're super-comfy, I think they're pretty stylish as well, plus *pockets*! http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=37368&vid=8&pid=285969012

I find the Fitbit's estimation of my calorie burn during a workout (walking or running) is far more accurate than MFP's - since when you log your activity on MFP, it assumes a constant rate during the entire time - while the Fitbit knows if you had faster or slower time periods during your workout. So Fitbit always tells…

The boyfriend and I have rented a house on the Mendocino coast for tomorrow through Monday. Will try to get a workout done tomorrow morning before we jump in the car and head on our way. Breakfasts and lunches will be my usual, which is good because I always save a little extra for dinner. We'll cook dinner in tomorrow…

I totally understand the lack of motivation, especially when the day is already full and busy and all I want to do when I get home is relax. I've started with just walking after work - I don't even let myself go home, I bring my gear with me to work, and there's an outdoor track I pass by on the way home, so I stop there,…
