  • If you like zombies at all, I really loved the Zombies, Run! C25k app. There's a story that you're a character in, and the story advances every time you run - which kept me motivated to keep doing the workouts, because I wanted to hear what happened next! :) Plus the C25k app fits right between episode 1 and 2 of the first…
  • Oh my goodness, I just did the Michonne workout for the week - kicked my butt! Cardio kickboxing is NOT easy! :D But I'm glad I've got it done!
  • Thanks everyone - super sweet. You all are great! :)
  • If you want to count it, you could log it as hiking - there are options for if it was mostly uphill, and also how heavy a load you were carrying. I'd only count log the time you were actually walking to and from though. Sitting and hunting probably doesn't burn much, no need to log that.
  • Thanks for all the kind words and support everyone - very much appreciated! <3
  • From the Lost Coast in Northern California.
  • Hope they can come back from this 3-0 lead the Nationals have right now (top of the 8th) and make it a clean sweep! C'mon Giants!
  • As for goals, I would LOVE to be in onederland by the end of the year/the start of the new year. I have 18.5 lbs to go! But it's also okay if I don't make it - as long as I know I put in the work and did my best, I'll feel okay no matter where I end up by 12/31. :drinker: Having that goal in mind is just a really great…
  • Hey Team Intermediate! I'm Alison, 36yo and have lost ~80 lbs since January. I've chosen Michonne as my character, because she's a total badass. I currently do pretty much ALL cardio, and would fit in with the advanced group for how much I do, but I am a total noob on strength training, so I felt like the intermediate team…
  • Intermediate - Michonne Looking at the strength/cardio requirements, I'm advanced for cardio but a total noob for strength training, so I figure the intermediate team is a good compromise and will provide me with a challenge in the strength arena! :drinker:
  • 18.5 lbs to go... started at over 300 lbs in January. I seriously *can't wait* to be in the 100s - hoping to get there by the end of the year, but if I don't it's okay - I know I'll get there eventually! :drinker:
  • They're not exactly 30 minutes - it depends on the length of the songs in your playlist. I've had missions end around 25 minutes and go as long as 36 minutes. Do you have "Shuffle Playlist" checked in your playlist settings?
  • Where did I say that I want no one to ever feel offended about anything, ever? But feeling personally offended by certain things is quite different than derisive terms that are meant to ridicule an entire group of people. Seriously, would you support the "Washington Crackers?" If anything, the fact that we *do not have…
  • Wow. Illogical jump in logic is illogical. My statement and yours have nothing to do with each other.
  • Awesome. I think a Native American / First Nations tribe should get a football team together and call themselves the "Crackers." Since derogatory terms towards specific races aren't offensive and/or racist, right?

  • Just to clarify, most vegetarians ARE omnivores (since there seem to be a lot of replies stating "you're not a vegetarian, you're an omnivore"). Most vegetarians are NOT herbivores, because they still eat some animal-based foods, like dairy products and eggs. Vegans are herbivores. I like being an opportunivore, myself.…
  • Thanks again to everyone for all the encouragement and complements! I look forward to where this journey will take me, most definitely - just the opportunities and what I *can* do as I lose more weight has amazed me. Keep up the good work yourselves - you are all inspiring.
  • Thanks everyone! Totally appreciate the support and kind words. You're all doing great yourselves! :drinker:
  • My main motivation for losing weight is to go on more and bigger hiking adventures and kayaking trips! I have mountain tops in my future. And I just bought a kayak this summer and have been LOVING all the paddling excursions. :drinker: I'm "scientific" in the sense that I'm a marine biologist... but not an MD.…
  • I started at 300+ (didn't have a scale when I started), down to 227 or so currently. Anyone can add me!
  • I'm largely motivated by being able to have really great adventures - long kayak trips, big hikes to the top of things, multi-day backpacking trips, etc. So I added a photo I took from one of my favorite vantage-points... that you have to hike to. And the fish because I'm a marine biologist. Even though I study…
  • I usually eat back 25-75% of my Fitbit calories. And my Fitbit is the only way I track my calories burned through exercise, since all my activities (walking, running, hiking) are step-based, except for an occasional kayaking trip. Seems to be working - down 73 lbs in 8 months! :drinker:
  • I find my Fitbit to be accurate enough - certainly more accurate than MFP's calorie adjustments. As long as most of your exercise is through step-based activities, the Fitbit should work out fine. It: - knows your age, height, and weight - knows the activity level you're set at, and gives you calories based on that (or…
  • I think the regular app is an even better story - since they built the regular app first, and then designed the C25k story to fit between episode 1 and episode 2 of the season 1 app. Lots more drama and interesting story lines, like how the zombie virus first started, the relationship with other nearby towns/outposts,…
  • Hahaha, I would *never* consider myself a runner, but yes, I do run - I loooooooved the Zombies, Run! C25k app, so when I finished it I moved onto the regular app. Finished Season 1 last week, now a few episodes in to Season 2. I also just make a very conscious effort to get up and walk around during my day - my job…
  • You can turn off calorie estimation in your Fitbit settings. Then it only gives you calories to eat throughout the day as you earn them through living and through your exercise. Not sure if that solves what you're talking about - but you won't start your day with your Fitbit giving you your entire day's allowance of…
  • I just joined the Fitbit group - I'm #1 for all three boards so far in September! :drinker:
  • Tonight's game is making me sad. And making me drink beer. :ohwell:
