I really like the mapmyrun app on my iphone. I also have an excel document to track my progress over time. And my race times I also have a printed calendar for the "visual" accountability. It may seem like overkill but I am a little obsessed!

There is a wealth of information at this link too. http://www.outsideonline.com/fitness/running/road-running/10-Tips-To-Run-Your-Best-Half-Marathon.html

Thanks for the feedback. I had a hard time adjusting my goals to the exact IIFYM macros because of MFP's 5%'s categories. So I went looking and lo and behold there is a script to insert your EXACT macros. http://karoshiethos.com/2013/08/13/javascript-bookmarklet-for-enhanced-macro-goals-in-myfitnesspal/ P.S. Thanks for the…

I am using halfmary.com EDIT: Half-mary does plans for 1/2's and full marathons. It only reflects mileage as "easy/slow" and "long". I highly recommend incorporating in speedwork, tempo runs, and lots of HILLS.

I just increased my calories since I am training for a couple of races this summer so I gained this week. Up to 158.5

I just checked our the IIFYM web-site and I increased my calories to 1600, protein to 158.5g, fat to 64g, and decreased my carbs to 99g. These are BIG changes to my existing macros. I am a bit hesitant since I recently upped my calories to 1300 from 1200 and started gaining right away. I hope the increase in…

I love fruit kabobs - peaches, apples, plums, nectarines, pineapple. Sooooo good! Granted it is more like dessert but it is definitely worth it.

Thanks I have really been working on my kick lately. Yesterday I ran over 7 and I hit 7mph in my last split. I guess I was tired of being cold. The roads are fairly clear now with some small ice patches. The trails, on the otherhand, will be icey and waterlogged until at least May. It is still getting fairly cold at night…

Driver Ms. Driver, I am sorry for glaring at you and mumbling under my breath that you were "killing me with kindness" when you refused to turn eventhough I waved you by and slowed down so that you could go safely. Sincerely, Jennifer EDIT: I can't spell Sincerely :)

Yesterday I ran 6.03 in 1:01:48. I was aiming for 8miles but the trail was too crusty and I don't want to turn an ankle. I live in Alaska and there is still lots of ice :grumble: I am really looking forward to a clear straight a way instead of the agility ice test I am still dealing with now. Despite the ice I still ran…

There are a some folks on this site that I would like to meet in person and talk with someday. There are others I would just like to ogle across the room

I keep mine around to open jars and reach things on the high shelf.

Lately I have only been working out at night after 8pm on the weekdays. One the weekends, I run around noon.

My husband is a brewer and there is always beer on tap at my house. Add in the 420 and you can figure out why I ended up at MFP. But I still will continue because I LOVE them both. There is no substitute you just have to fit it in. Workout harder and drink smaller pours :drinker:

I throw a whole chicken into slow cooker with a little bit of water and some spices and walk away :)

mix a little bit of cocoa into cottage cheese if you don't have any chocolate around. It is delicious :)

There are so many different kinds of proteins out there, not just whey. I use a combination of garden of life Raw Meal and Plantfusion Chocolate. I love them both :)

I am a huge fan of grilled fruit kabobs. And I just had this and it was AWESOME. http://atouchofzest.com/raw-vegan-lime-cheesecake/

You can't out exercise a bad diet. If you workout according to your plan you WILL lose weight most likely but what happens when you stop? Weight loss begins on your plate. I was never one for calorie restriction either but now IIFYM has really changed my life life :)

I drink protein shakes as snacks and post-run workouts. I need to chew my main meals. I ate nutritionally balanced meals but I never came close to my protein goals before I got my shakes.

It was pretty funny that during my first week on MFP it estimated my weight to be >20 pounds less in 5 weeks. Since then MFP has got a lot smarter and it hovers around 8pounds now. Interesting data is all it is.
