I hope that 15 lbs in 15 weeks is good - I have set my goal to about 1 lb a week, and it seems to be working, even when I have hig pain, low movement, bad eating days thrown in the mix (One week I had a bad day and made poor choices and went 400+ calories over, but with other good days in there, I still lost weight that…

I'm pretty new here too, and I know what you mean about moving. It is hard, but if I don't move, I feel worse. The good part is that this site is helping me anyway!

Hi Robin - as far as I know no one else is still active here. But Welcome!

Totally agree, but you can't make home bread without adding a little sugar and have it turn out, from my understanding!

Jogging, to me is stupid. I cannot understand why people insist on conditioning their muscles in a manner that encourages heart problems. And kills your knees to boot. I have friends who love it. And they are the 40 year olds that have replaced their knees already. One has had a heart attack when he was moving -…

Both milk and wheat can cause terrible bloating for me. My husband has Celiac, and if he gets exposed to wheat, he can gain 5 lbs in water weight overnight! Try avoiding junk foods like cereals, and maybe eat more dense, protein rich foods (like eggs and a meat side) instead. bet you feel better! WE do!

I am aiming for 1 lb a week, and with walking my dog, I usually have around 1300 calories a day. some days that seems like not enough, and some days I don't come close.... I even went out for breakfast (Subway with my son) had a cherry turnover while out this afternoon, and went to Logan's Roadhouse for dinner, and still…

I was just tired of being of being the same wight that I have not been happy with for over 20 years. I even gained 60 lbs with my son, and lost back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but could not get lower. I am tired of it - I want to be happy with myself, with how I look and feel. I want to wear the clothes that I like. I do…

If you are worried about the belly, the thing to cut is wheat/gluten. My husband is Celiac, and since he went GF (when we found out about this) his belly flattened out, even though he did not loose weight at the time. there is lots of info out there about how wheat causes bloating, and I am finding it is true for me as…

My husband is gluten free (he has Celiac) and is also diabetic. He eats very few carbs. I am reverse - If I do NOT eat carbs I get "Chinese food hungry" after 20 minutes. I make all of our meat/protein the same, then make veggies and a starch that may or may not be safe for him, since he doesn't eat it. He is very picky…

My husband has been GF for almost 2 years, and I am about to take the plunge. I have fibro and do think it will help, at least somewhat. Plus, the kiddo flies the coop in 3 years, and then I can cook foods however I want (Picky teen will go on a hunger strike, even for days if he doesn't like what I make... not good for a…

Anything with yeast in it needs some sugar to grow.... why you crave sugar when you have a yeast infection! But the "more important" reason in manufacturers eye - Americans have a huge sweet tooth, cultivated by no other than food manufacturers! They make their foods addictive so you will crave them! Stay away from…

is there anybody out there??

I have foods I will not eat that I used to, but it is easy for me because when you have not had something super sweet, for example, in a while, and you try it again, it tastes like cr@p. That bakery doughnut tastes like grainy sugar and nothing else, NOT enjoyable at all, so why bother. I have found that after being off of…

I know exactly how you feel. Eating like crap is so much easier. I have been telling myself that I want to loose weight for a year (more actually) but have never gotten anywhere. Or I loose 10 lbs and then put it back on in a week. So I am trying again..... The biggest thing that has helped me in the past is not buying the…

Wow! I am just getting serious about getting healthier - you are an inspiration! Keep up the good work!

instead of trying to bang it into his head, especially if he is resistant, how about laying off. Let him fail - he can re-take it next year. Maybe he hates his teacher. Or is getting bullied in this class. or ???? If you must push him (which is more likely to backfire, make him hate math, school, and you) how about trying…

Sounds really yummy! Let me ask where people are getting their chia seeds though.
