Thank you! I will definitely look in to Phil Maffetone. I'm really interested in the science behind all of this and want to know what my body is doing so your advice is really helpful.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. lthames0810, a friend of mine suggested I stay within my zone and walk if I go over but you've confirmed my thoughts! I'll keep doing what feels good and not pay too much attention to the heart rate monitor. Thanks everyone! :drinker:

I always use lip balm before I go out running, and like to keep a piece of mint gum in my mouth (I don't actually chew it) as I find that makes me feel less like I'm drying out :)

At 191lbs I wore a UK size 16 top and bottom but with hindsight I was pushing my luck there :) I've lost 16lbs and my size 16 clothes now fit loosely. I think that converts to a size 14 or L in US sizes.

Yay good for you. It's hard to take that first step. Don't feel bad about the stretch marks, everyone's skin is different - I got my first stretchmarks on my legs when I was 13 and had a growth spurt, and have been adding to my collection ever since  I agree with the previous poster, Jillian Michels 30 day shred on…

Hi, I lost a stone in about 6/7 weeks. I'm 5 ft 6 in and weighed 13st 9lb when I started in mid-Jan. I was doing 1200 calories for the first 10-12lbs then bumped up to 1420 which is much easier to live with  Feel free to add me if you'd like some support along the way x

Hi, I would suggest upping your calories a little. I hit a bit of a plateau at 1,200 and after reading a few of the posts for 'Newbies' (which I'd highly recommend!) thought I would try 1,400 calories. It's made a huge difference to my mood and resolve, and has got me losing again. This website…
