  • Hey Gang, Just weighed in with a loss of 2.6 lbs over the last week. I am pretty happy.
  • I"ve fought weight problems my whole life but was never are large as when I recently decided the time had come. Seven different meds every day (BP, Cholesterol, Triglycerides, Diabetes, blah, blah). Couldn't fit in chairs with arms, forget airplane seats, felt horrible, looked worse. No quality of life and no expectation…
  • I agree with others. Your husband needs to look around. I have had as many as 12 people working for me at times in my business and I never took anyone on unless I knew I could make payroll. I never missed one and always paid employees first. I feel for you guys.
  • I've been a pretty good eater for too long. Maybe thats a vice though.
  • I just realized that when I was explaining the program I have been working to help with weight loss I referenced the wrong hospital name. I indicated Memorial Herman as offering the program and it is actually the Methodist Hospital System. My wife just had major surgery and Memorial Herman so their bills are on my mind!! I…
  • I started drinking the large amounts of water when I signed up for the plan I have been working. The dietitians told me that it helps keep things moving through your system, most of us are not properly hydrated, and it helps with hunger.
  • Congrats and high fives to all the weight loss effort I read about on this site. Christy, I saw your weigh in post earlier. Way to go. I forgot to mention in my post that on my plan I drink 1/2 my body weight in ozs. of water every day and no caffeine. If you don't like water when you start you will get there. I really…
  • Christy, I have heard of Optifast but really don't know anything about it. You'll probably need to call them to get the details of the program.
  • Christy, I was desperate to make a change in my life throughout 2007 and was being pressed by my regular MD to get Gastric Bypass. As I've already stated I think whatever solution helps any of us regain a life is OK. I simply did not / do not have an interest in additional surgery. I had a hip replaced in 2005 and a knee…
  • Hi Everyone! I weighed yesterday and am down a total of 104 lbs. It feels phenomenal. I still have about 75 pounds to go and now I KNOW I can do it. Christy, I saw your challenge post about the 75 lb target by the end of October and the subsequent posts regarding it being too aggressive. I do think the number is a high one…
  • I'm in! Lost a bunch so far, still have 75+ pounds to shed. Having gotten this far I know I can go the distance. All of us can. Think happy, low calorie thoughts:smile:
  • I had my left knee replaced in September 07 and spent lots of time doing range of motion exercises as part of the rehab. Get a towel or bungee cord (or go to the sporting goods and spend money on an adjustable strap). Lay on your bed and place the towel around your ankle. While holding the towel with both hands bend your…
  • You are welcome to anything I can do to help. I have been on the wrong end of this struggle for most of my life and I am determined that the changes I am making now are permanent. I also realize that I will NEVER be able to eat or drink without specific knowledge of how it affects my body. I no longer very this with anger…
  • Hi I've been working an 800 calorie per day program since March 3 and have dropped 100 pounds. It can be done though it is not the common approach. As far as health is concerned I've stopped taking 5 of the 7 daily medications I've been on since at least 2003 and reduced my Diabetes medication significantly. I now exercise…
  • Hey folks, One of the mental approaches that seems to work for me about 95% of the time is to tell myself that I can eat a cheeseburger or french fries or whatever, just not today. I might say "I'll have one tomorrow or the next day" as part of my mental conversation with the demon. I find that it helps me deal with weaker…
  • Mt. Olive Sugar Free pickles are low calorie and low carb. Crunchy and filling.
  • Hi All of You Pretty Ladies, I think one guy needs to weigh in here and it might as well be me. I've had a life long fight with weight. I've been working MFP for about 2 months now. I've lost 100 lbs and still have about 100 to go. I guess that qualifies me to run with this crowd. I don't think it will ever be easy for…
  • I think this topic has gotten more posts than any. :noway:
  • Man here. Working hard to lose my man boobies though!!!!

  • I just want a couple of bites from each of your free meals. That would be and awesome tasting experience......... and free!
  • Hang in there Kimber. We all understand. If you are weighing every day it can make you crazy. I've done that and it makes my routine harder. Sodium, water, stress, menses for the ladies, etc all play a role in daily scale numbers and I decided to do it once weekly, same time, same lack of clothing. Cheers! Tim
  • Outstanding performance. Your headed for obesity! Makes choices easier. Inspires me.
  • about 30 pounds more for me and I will only be obese. I am ready for obese. On another topic I saw the recently released Get Smart movie. I didn't have great expectations for it but I have to say it was really pretty funny. Stay away from the popcorn!!!!! I chew sugar free gum to help with the temptation. Cheers!
  • Though I try not to focus on the additional 90-100 I still have to lose at least I now KNOW that I can and will get there. Many of the folks on this site don't start out morbidly obese but that doesn't make the process any easier so I don't assume that my journey is any harder or easier than yours. My life is so much…
  • All of us have ups and downs. I have tried to work on giving up the guilt and just moving ahead with the new day. As far as I know none of us can change the past. I know a guy who went from 563 lbs to 210 (his current weight) and one of the things he said to me is that if you are driving your car and run over something…
  • Congrats Carrie! Keep it up and you'll get it done. Tim
  • Way to go Shorerider!
  • I was taking Glyburide (its a pretty powerful combo drug) 500 MG morning and evening and Avandia 8 MG in the morning and my blood sugars were not controlled. After the first 35 pounds the Glyburide was too strong - hypoglycemic tendencies. Changed to Metformin 500 2 X daily and continued the Avandia. Had to drop the…
