I think the hi-rise jeans are back, Marney! I've seen them in the stores! Kudos for the NSV!

Oh, I wish you all had the opportunity to use the stretch trainer we have at the gym! It is a standard part of my workout. I love it. Here is the link: precor.com/en-us/stretchtrainer Amazing how few people use it. I can't believe how much better I feel after stretching! Of course, you don't need a stretch trainer. Hope…

Marney: Is it plantar faciitis? It is awful and just about everyone gets it. Stretching the achilles is essential. After suffering for over a year, I now never miss a day doing achilles stretches. However, that really bad pain is usually in the heel and usually worse in the morning, that said... I have a Morton's Neuroma…

Gayle, candy isn't an issue for me. I once in a while like a piece of chocolate, but I'd be more likely to buy SweetTarts! That said, have you tried the Skinny Cow Heavenly Crisps? They come in a box. 110 calories but very satisfying. They have other styles, but I like the heavenly crisps (like KitKats). Some stores even…

Mary, I know what you mean. Salads can be a killer. My favorite salad at O'Charley's which I used to eat at least once a week, was about 1200 calories and that didn't include the rolls, butter, or wine! That is why I always wonder why diet advice columns always recommend the salads or appetizers. Most appetizers have a…

Yeah, we got snow last night on top of some ice we had. Was only 7 degrees when I left for work this a.m., but the snow had stopped. Side roads not great, but expressway was fine! Nice both you (Marney and Gayle) having dinner with friends. I left work a little early yesterday to go over and take care of grandkids. My son…

Wonderful!

If we don't pamper ourselves, who will? What a wonderful day! Funny Girl was just as wonderful as the first time I saw it and the last time I saw it! I had actually gone to a local performance last summer, but let's face it, NO ONE can play the part of Fanny Brice and come close to Streisand standard! I agree, 15.5 pounds…

Sorry I didn't get to check in on Friday. Hate doing Community on the Android app and just got home for my laptop. 1/2/15: 155.5 lbs. 1/9/15: 159.5 lbs. 1/16/15: 154.5 lbs. 1/23/15: 154 1/30/15: 153.5 1/2 lb. down on Friday, so that is another 2 you can add to the total loss, Marney. 15.5 total for the group. Number will…

Mary's right. We are. Nothing worse than the munchies! Marney, forgot to say, congrats on the 1/2 pound!

The thing, I think, with using a set calorie count for Leslie Sansone is that she uses an average for her calorie count of about 175 pounds. I guarantee, little Leslie isn't burning that much! I only burn 262 calories for 45 minutes at 4 mph. Every 25 pounds makes about a 40-45 calorie difference as to calories burned at 4…

How far under? What is your goal and what is your deficit? What are you eating now?

Marney: How long does the 3 mile workout last? If it is about 45 minutes which I think it is, then put the workout in MFP as 4 miles per hour. If it is about a one hour workout, then put it in as 3 miles per hour. Can't just say 300 calories as calories burned depends on speed, length of time, and our weight/age. Those…

I'm 5'1". It is a long story about health problems that got me to 238 pounds. And I won't go into all that, but suffice it to say that once I was able to normalize my health somewhat, I was better prepared to take on the weight and improve my health even more. I started this journey with a BMI of 45 to see if I could stick…

Hello, Nancy! You will like it here! You guys are tearing it up! Not me so much. I finally hit the 154 which I wanted to hit January 1. I am just on a roller coaster ride and last night didn't help. Went to a new deli and craft beer restaurant. Delicious, but not low cal! 1/2/15: 155.5 lbs. 1/9/15: 159.5 lbs. 1/16/15:…

I'm trying to lose, but I have had family members and friends who wanted to gain and they just couldn't. I feel for you as I think this is much more difficult if your body fights it. One friend of mine who was extremely thin had a daughter who was also extremely thin. Her daughter was accused of anorexia or bulemia and…

Feeling better today. Might have fought this off, although feel it could go either way. I'm at work though as I will seldom take off work and must really feel awful. I took off for my cataract surgeries last year, but other than that, it has been probably a couple of years since I have called in sick. Marney, you are right…

Woo hoo on the new low, Gayle! I don't record my gains on my ticker either. I did one time, but it was because I knew it was from goofing up and not water retention or normal fluctuation. As we get older we are also more apt to become dehydrated as we don't feel thirst as we did when we were younger. Besides raising BP, it…

I don't make cocktails at home, but I do have "skinny" cocktails out as more and more restaurants have them on their drink menus. Longhorn Steakhouse has a very tasty Skinny Black Raspberry Sangria. Only like 80 calories and it's in a tall glass! Uno's has a great skinny cosmo.

Thanks, but I don't consider a 5- pound loss a loss if it is just getting me back to where I already was. It is just aggravating water weight anyway. I only consider a loss a loss if I venture into NEW numbers!

I have been here 365 days, today! Yea, me! But, I must keep going! 1/2/15: 155.5 lbs. 1/9/15: 159.5 lbs. 1/16/15: 154.5 lbs. I'm down to my low today, but still haven't hit 154 which was my goal for January 1. Wow, I haven't even started on the loss toward my Easter goal. Don't know what more I can do though. I'll get…

I once took a pattern design course. One classmate was 5'11" and another was 4'11". I had a longer torso than the 5'11" woman and shorter legs than the 4'11" woman. Think I have some Neanderthal DNA! Interesting on the scenic tapes. I had to do a stress test once and they had a picture of a path going under a bridge and…

I'm with you about being a mini, as you say, it is unfair. (However, I have always used the word "petite" as I think everything sounds better in French! Mary: Rather than adjusting my calories as I have been at 1200 right along, I have had to adjust my expectations! Started out easily losing 2 pounds a week. Now, it is…

Mary: Since Leslie Sansone is walking "miles" in place, she must also be using the step-mile system. I bet if you counted your steps while doing her video that it would be about 2,000 for a mile. They are more accurate for calorie burn and you can count that they will pretty much match MFP. I think her tapes are great and…

Just for today, I will: Do my resistance bands.

One year ago Friday, I joined MFP with over 100 pounds to lose. I've managed 76 pounds (lost 8 prior to that, but I don't count those here). Here are tips: 1. Make supportive friends on MFP. People in the same place that you are. 2. Look in the Groups and see if there is a group of people with similar demographics. Join.…

Good advice, Gayle. I had to up that though. I like fiber gummies.

I posted on Saturday, or thought I had, but must not have hit "post." Marney: Love the picture! Finally get to see who we are talking to. Great losses. The pounds are melting and some melted on to me. Last Friday I was at 159.5. That was a 4 pound gain, although it was at 161 on Thursday! I hadn't had a big gain in a…

I get really excited for walking when I download a bunch of really great new music. I will do it periodically so that it energizes me for my walks and renews my enthusiasm. When on the stationary bike, I watch a TV series on Hulu on my smartphone. I will get myself hooked on a new series and only allow myself to watch it…
