Just browsing her blog now.. and salivating... Thanks for the link! Also for the OP, if you're missing ice cream, try freezing a banana (I chop it up and put on greaseproof paper first to make things easier) then blend it - honestly it really tastes/feels like banana ice cream! You can add peanut butter/vanilla…

You might find this thread, and/or some of the posters on it, useful: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1038039-ramadan-fasting-mfp-and-you-a-guide

If I'm using an MFP estimate then I half the calories, if it's from the machine they usually are about half - 2/3 of what MFP suggests so I put in what the machine says. Similar thing for my running app. I would say if you've been using your method for a month or more and you've been losing weight, then keep it up, but if…

Did you choose to lose 2lbs per week? That amount is usually only for people with a lot to lose. Since you're almost at your goal 0.5lbs per week should be more realistic for you. Here are some useful posts that answer common questions that should help you get started:…

I'm vegetarian, but I eat vegan sometimes (not really on purpose, just so happens some meals are). I had a quick google and found a list of blogs that might help get you started: http://www.thekitchn.com/10-inspiring-vegan-blogs-136662 I've been getting into tofu recently - protein source and can be used to replace…

They do smaller loaves which work out as less calories per slice. I like the seeded batch one which is 86cals a slice for the 400g(smaller) loaf, although they are sliced annoyingly thick so occasionally I've actually sliced one slice into two... (this takes patience! )

Not sure what country you're in, but if in the UK I have Warburtons wholemeal - they do a smaller loaf which is 58 cals a slice. I also sometimes get the warburtons sandwich thins which are 100 cals each (they come cut in half so it's really 50 cals a slice) - I use them for burgers or just for something different!

I get raspberries and smush them a bit with the back of a spoon and mix them with plain greek yoghurt, and add a little bit of honey and/or vanilla extract.

For the hip measurement I measure the widest part around which includes the belly and it may or may not include the top of your bum. I also try to make sure the tape is horizontal all the way around in the mirror - just so I can make sure I'm measuring the same place every time (or as near as possible). But basically as…

Similar to yourself (and others), I weigh pretty much everyday (morning, naked, empty) but I record my weight on Mondays and view that as the 'official' weigh in. I find it helps me to check in everyday because then I know how I'm doing, and I'm used to the fluctuations so I know not to panic if the number goes up slightly…

I'm not sure if it's the same in the US, so I don't mean to be offensive... but in the UK clips of 'Fox news' are only shown for comedy purposes, not as a legitimate foreign news source... (same kind of comedy thing as Sarah Palin clips...) And basically they don't want to lose weight or face up to their heath issues, so…

First of all, on the peanut butter containing sugar issue, it depends what peanut butter you get - you can get ones with pretty much just peanuts (maybe a little bit of oil). I'm vegetarian and I eat peanut butter almost everyday - I just eat an amount that fits into my calorie allowance. As well as protein, nuts/nut…

I'm from the uk, and I guess it depends on what you mean by 'healthy'. I shop at a small-ish tesco (it's the closest one to me) and they still have a big selection of fruits, vegetables and other fresh foods... We definitely have less processed foods than the US (our laws are stricter on chemicals/ingredients etc) if…

I'm not Muslim, but I lived in Sweden for a while and I remember hearing that muslims living in the north where there is no darkness (or only an hour or two) at Ramadan follow the daylight hours for either a southern Swedish city, somewhere else in Europe, or Mecca - it seemed that there was no set rule, but people chose…

By a strange coincidence(I didn't see this post beforehand) I made the baked tofu using the above instructions for my dinner tonight. I actually used a store bought hoi sin sauce as the marinade but used the same cooking method. It turned out very crispy and was a lovely addition to my stir fried veg!

I have clothes that I currently wear now that I'm pretty confident that will look good loose in the future. For example, certain styles of dresses that are fitted/almost figure hugging, that will work looser with a belt (I imagine them on my smaller friends haha) Also clothes in a stretchy fabric - if you get them whilst…

Hi, I'm the same boat as you (140lbs/10st to lose over all!). Just take each day at a time and celebrate the small victories. Whilst, 1lb (or even 20lbs) may seem like a drop in the ocean, every little helps! I find it helps to think long term on the scale - eg. if you lose 2lbs in a week it may not seem like much, but if…

I was going to second the raw veggies, but since you don't like them, you could roast some chickpeas, they're crunchy and you can add whatever herbs/spices you like. Here's an example http://www.chow.com/recipes/30368-spicy-oven-roasted-chickpeas You could also try drinking more water/tea, I tend to want to snack less with…

something that I like to do is make a huge batch of ratatouille(cooked veg with tinned tomatoes) on the weekend, and then it can be used as a side, on pasta/rice, in a wrap/sandwich, in omelettes or on it's own as a standalone dish. I tend to make the batch with just salt and pepper, and then add herbs/spices to portions…

I eat lower calorie/smaller versions of what I used to eat. For me it's chocolate, every time! (The rest of the month I'm not a big fan of it) so I get things like the WW chocolate honeycomb pots that are only 77 cals or a freddo bar that's around 100 so I'm still satisfying the craving but staying in my calorie allowance.

I'm a 38G so I feel your pain. I found all the ones in sports shops/brands weren't cut out for bigger boobs so I would recommend going to a lingerie shop instead (I got mine from M&S - UK). Not only will lingerie brands/shops carry the correct size, but they will be made primarily for support by people who know boobs,…

Hi, I'm also doing c25k at the moment, currently on week 3 and I wanted to share the best piece of advice I got (on this forum!). I had tried to do the program twice before and found it so difficult I gave up as I thought running wasn't for me! The best piece of advice I got was NOT to run - jog, slowly, very slowly! I…
-
Have you heard of/tried c25k? It's a jogging program that has 3 workouts per week which involve walking and jogging and the amount of time jogging is gradually increased until you can jog for 30mins(which is supposed to be 5k but I wouldn't worry about speed/distance for now). I was never very fit but I've just finished…

I don't go to the gym, but I'm a big girl who's started running (doing c25k) and in the woodland where I run I have never come across anyone else running who isn't really fit looking! When I first started I would pause the program and walk when I saw someone as I was embarrassed to be the fattie running. But as the…

Yay well done! My goal is to loose half my body weight too (280 - 140) so it's great to see someone else who's done it! I can't wait to eventually post the same thing! You look great :flowerforyou:

My mixer of choice now is diet coke as well - this is a pretty good one as it's virtually calorie free. As for other suggestions, other than diet lemonade etc is soda water (if you're American I think it's called club soda there?) which is healthier choice in terms of additives etc. because it's just carbonated water! Add…

Seconding Jillian Michaels! Also check out the Befit channel - there are loads of different types of workouts and yoga/dancing and they have 30/90 days systems as well. Jillian is on here too  http://www.youtube.com/user/BeFit

hummus and some cucumber/carrot cut into sticks, and/or crackers/cut up toasted pitta. Very low cal depending on the amount of hummus/crackers/pitta! If you have/can get hold of a little Tupperware pot for the hummus and have a fridge at your work then it's pretty easily portable.

[bump] - does anyone have any equipment free suggestions?
