Thank you soo much for those articles. Eating at 1800 calories a day is 300 calories LESS a day than MFP says I should eat to lose one pound a week. So, even if I eat an extra 1500 calories on the weekends (which, like I said, doesn't happen), I should be fine and losing at least a HALF a pound a week right? well... it…

My husband used the "six pack shortcuts" program. Followed all of their diet advice, too. He never bought prepared meals; he made and portioned them all himself. Basically, chicken, rice and vegetables without any kind of sauce 3-4 times a day. PLAIN (no milk or sugar) oatmeal and eggs for breakfast, and ground beef with…

I have no idea, really, why I still want to eat onions even though it's heartburn any time I eat them. Generally, its a combination of "bad foods" that cause me to have really bad issues. I begin to wonder if it is a bigger issue that I should see a professional about.

Yes, I have spoken to a doctor. Bottom line; they know nothing about IBS. Not really. There is no cure and it doesn't ever just go away. Eating vegetarian isn't about losing weight, its an attempt to see if meat happens to be a trigger food for my symptoms. Yes I weigh everything and measure everything. I even make my own…

I am approximately 5'8" tall, I currently weigh 195 lbs, and my goal weight would be about 155 lbs. I've been there before and I was comfortable there. I have tried just about everything. Low carb, Low FODMAP for IBS, vegetarian, extreme exercise programs (INSANITY) five days a week for 8 weeks and lost NOTHING. I've tried…

I completely agree. If I have any kind of gluten, I feel extremely bloated and huge, and I get nauseous when I eat anything until that feeling goes away. If I eat enough of it, it actually messes with my blood pressure. I know, it's a bit odd, but its true. I am not a celiac, but gluten messes me up. If that's not a…

Have you tried gluten free beer such as Omission and Red Bridge? I personally prefer omission. If the gluten free ones still make you feel sick, I wonder about carbonation. Do you drink soda? If I have gas, a little soda water can help me not feel bloated so badly, but if I drink too much bubbly, I feel worse! After that,…

You look amazing! congratulations! My biggest problem is eating things I shouldn't (more because I have IBS and am sensitive, than because of McDonalds- I can't stand fast food). Did you have that problem and (if so) how did you get over it?

Oh, also, oddly enough, everything on the low fodmap diet upsets my tummy. EVERYTHING. :S I do just fine with chicken, pork, turkey and eggs, but beef... not so much. I tried going meat free for a while, but only beef was an issue. I found that if I am really strict with the diet for a while (say, during the workweek), I…

Try Aloe Vera Juice. It helped all of my symptoms more than anything the doctors could/would do for me. Its NASTY, but if you put it in a smoothie or mix it with juice, it isn't too bad. I shoot it like tequila (haha) just to get it over with.
