I always find ways to remind myself how far I've come. Of course it is nice to fit into smaller clothes, but even better is being able to recognize what this new body can do. We have a concert venue here that I used to love and hate, it's called Red Rocks. One of the coolest places ever to see a concert but quite a hike to…

How are you counting your exercise calories? MFP allowance for different activities always seems high compared the my HRM.

You are young, and male. You burn more calories by breathing than your mom will. Just guessing but she is also probably close to if not in menopause, being there myself I can tell you it's a lot tougher to lose weight at this stage in life. Give your mom a break, I'm sure the wine isn't the only factor in your weight loss…

Work in your exercise calories from the previous day so you can spread them out through the day.

I have the Bowflex, my husband and I both use them and after I got used to how long they are I wouldn't use anything else! Love love love them!

You might want to try some strength training. You might be surprised and end up really liking it. I'm doing Chalean Extreme but I think there are some workouts on exercise TV if you want to start without a major investment. The bands are fairly inexpensive. I had EA Sports Active for playstation for kind of an intro to…

chop them up, add greek yogurt and dill. Great as a dip or to top grilled salmon or chicken.

What does or doesn't happen in the next 8 weeks is nothing compared to being healthy and fit for the rest of your life. Be proud of yourself for every good choice you make, every workout, every healthy meal, and even every pound you do lose by making those good choices over and over again. I bet she wishes she was 21 and…

you only have one cup per day, enjoy it! Isn't that only about 35 calories? I know you are looking for a substitute but keep thinking lifestyle change and moderation. One cup a day isn't going to kill your goals and if it makes you feel less deprived it might even help keep you motivated.

the thread is about hypocrisy. Paleo diet wants us to eat like cavemen. Cavemen did not drive cars, maybe if they did they would have killed the bees and nobody would be eating honey.

I look at my family history and I know that the disease you say will motivate you is coming if I don't make the changes in lifestyle now. I'm thinking it will be a lot harder to make those changes when your health decides that you have no choice. Take it one day at a time or one good meal choice or one good workout, until…

brushing dry hair will distribute natural oils, that's why it was a popular saying to brush 100 strokes, it will also help remove any dry flaky skin from the scalp and just feels good, especially if you can get someone else to do it. I've been a hairstylist for 30+ years, wet hair stretches more than dry hair and this can…

3 dogs, small medium, and large. A rescue cockatiel and an African Grey Parrot that tells all of us what to do.

Hello! I have three sons and 5 grandchildren with two more babies coming next year. Only one granddaughter so far and we already know that one of the babies is a boy. We make really cute little boys in our family so no complaints but it would sure be fun to buy some of the really cute little girl stuff :)

One of our sons is a Master Mechanic, so our cars are extremely well maintained, it's pays off. One of our cars is a 2000 Grand Am with 300000 miles on it. That one is semi retired but still runs great with original engine and transmission.

If you hit the middle right button once it finds your HR, you have to push it again to start a training session. Good Luck :)

no it's not my only motivation, I have a wonderful husband, 3 wonderful sons, and 5 1/2 grandchildren that i want to watch grow up. The fit in ten months is just kind of a fun motivater! I guess some people gotta hate.

very thoughtful and motivating response, I don't think I'm the one with the bigger problems.

As a hairstylist, if I have a client tell me they have noticed an unusual amount of hair loss I advise them to go get blood work done. Hair loss can be caused by so many different things, thyroid problems, hormone imbalance, and stress being among the most common. Remember 50 to 80 hairs per day is normal, but if you have…
