Personally, when I was on anti-depressants in the past I LOST 15 pounds. As a psych major, my personal belief is that it is the lifestyle and mental health issues that causes the weight gain (coping with food, alcohol, laying in bed all day, not exercising, lack of motivation for anything) NOT the actual medication.

I only ignore them if they have no message OR if I see on their profile that they are pro-ana, etc. If they can't send a message with the request than I shouldn't have to take the time to send a message with my ignore.

I do this video along with a bunch of other JM videos (usually a different one everyday). IT IS ROUGH. I use 10# and occasionally 5# weights now. I end up going A LOT slower than Jillian but I'm more of a fan of lifting a littler heavier and going slower. I am sooooooooooooo sore the next day. I'm sure it has made an…

You need to decide what you want. You obviously don't want to be skinny fat but you cut down every suggestion about weight lifting or gaining muscle. There is no "TONING", it doesn't exist. You can't make your muscles look a certain way, you can only make them bigger or smaller or make it easier to see them by dropping…

You can't make your body look like someone else's. Everyone has different genetics that determines their ability to grow muscle and hold fat in certain areas. You can't just do the same plan as someone else and expect to look like them.

I'm a senior in college AND I work 20 hours a week. TBH, everything seems to be suffering because I don't have time for it all. I can't always give everything 100%. I give myself an hour a day to work out though-->I HAVE TO or I go crazy with anxiety from the stress.

It is probably a combination of a bunch of factors. Weight obviously plays a large role in hurting your joints. I suggest you listen to the statements about proper form. You can really hurt your knee and other joints if your knee sticks out over your toes during lunges or squats.
-
yep, I look at my calories over the course over a week. over some days and under the next.

Weight loss shouldn't be your goal if you are concerned with being "skinny fat."-Most likely, losing weight will only make things worst. You should focus on exercise and eating the proper amount of food in order to build muscle mass. Diet is important, but in order to have muscle mass you have to lift weights and eat…

not you again.... please stop advising the OP to eat less than 1200 a day because you did it. It isn't healthy and just because it worked for you doesn't mean it will work for someone else. I would bet that the 1.5 pounds a week that you lost was not all fat anyways.... Eating under 1200 calories isn't just damaging to…

16-20% body fat is actually considered low for a female....

My FAVORITE breakfast is two scrambled eggs, two slices of turkey bacon on a whole wheat tortilla. (~310 calories and a LOT of protein) When I'm feeling a little bold I'll add some salsa to the mix or you could easily stir in some peppers, onions or other veggies. Just have that with your morning coffee, I either use sugar…

I swam in college. I'm pretty sure that is probably right. I know I ate like a mad man back then but still had a hard time keeping on weight. It wasn't until I quit swimming and kept on eating like I hadn't that I gained weight.

I go over and I don't care. I am usually a little under on exercise days so I figure it cancels out over the course of a week. Heck, I usually don't even log on the weekends and those are my rest days. I'm working on fixing that tho :blushing:

I was freaking out when I went as well (it was a good 8 years ago though, when I was only 15). Either way, they could tell how nervous I was so they gave me some gas to calm me down. Once I had that I was on cloud nine, I practically fell asleep before they could get the needle in. Afterwards, you're just sleepy, I wasn't…

BUMP. But TBH, I try not to be so technical with my calories in and calories out. I don't exactly want to obsess.
-
Don't go by MFP, look online for resources to calculate your BMR. That is what your goal should be set to. Anycalorie count lower than your BMR will result in loss in muscle mass along with the fat.
-
How is your maintenance only 1600 calories? I'm 5'3" 135 Roughly: TDEE=2200 BMR=1400... Exercise 5x a week burning about 500 each time. Your BMR should be higher than mine. Figure out your BMR and have that set as your calorie goal. Personally, I eat 1700 calories a day for weight loss... I have my goal set to 1400 (I…

If you aren't on the drug anymore than it shouldn't be the problem. More than likely it is something in your diet or exercise routine that is keeping your from losing weight. TBH, when I was on an anti-depressant in the past I lost a good 15 pounds... Personally, I think the weight gain associated with mental health drugs…

I'm gonna go with ALMONDS.
-
Eat your TDEE, you will probably still lose a pound a week. My stats are about the same as yours and I eat 1700 everyday (exercise or not) and I'm losing weight. It averages out over time IMO. Over one day and under the next cancels out. MAKE SURE YOU GET ENOUGH PROTEIN. Plus you need to be patient. I have 15 pounds to my…

Bud Select 55 is a waste of time. It is practically watered down beer. You might as well go for the regular bud select. It is 95 calories and twice the alcohol content...

Both of those are good. I actually have 7 JM videos and rotate them and do a different one everyday.

I wouldn't ever call it a "healthier" drink but these have less calories Diet tonic and vodka with a squeeze of lime or lemon. ORRRR SHOTS... typically of tequila or flavored vodka. I like to drink tooooo! and I've found that cutting out beer and switching to diet tonic and vodka or shots has helped wonders with…

Fair enough. That is why I always make sure I am getting enough protein and eating an appropriate amount for my BMR and TDEE. Either way, I'm trying to say that my muscle isn't just withering away because I haven't been lifting heavy. My body fat percentage has dropped along with my weight and that in itself should be…
