I have just past my first day fasting on a 2 day fast. I always feel the hunger pangs on the first day, have some kind of exercise that evening(swimming 1000 mtrs tonight) which is always a feel good great workout. The second day I feel a little grotty on waking up then feel the second day is fantastic, feel great, then…

The only reason I am posting about this on this website is because I have had an amazing experience and wanted to share it. There is no ulterior motive, I am not selling anything, and I am not suggesting do as I do, I am just saying I tried something that I was initially very cynical about and had some amazing results from…

Bad food is marketed in a way that I think should be criminal in the way it makes people ill, and then we have the huge pharmaceutical companies to make all their food related illness better When I am not fasting I never consider food portions and eat what I want, well not much anyway. I also have one of those gadgets at…

Cannot say I am fasting for religious reasons, but I totally get the spiritual reasoning why people do it, had a great chat with a muslim gut the ither day about fasting. I am coming around to seeing fasting as a great way to re balance the body mental and physical. I am reading up a lot at the moment on the subject of the…

OK Thanks for sharing that

Maybe I am one of the luck ones, I love my food and lucky enough to enjoy very healthy food. But I really did not struggle, it was harder for me to have a little rather than nothing. And once my fast ends, Boy is that mellon good or lentil curry out of this world.

Because food on mass is now available, you give animals an endless source of food and they will eat until they can hardly move. I often see pets like this and think it very cruel to allow to happen, yet we do it to ourselves. But Hey! If you think it's normal to eat to the point where you are ill and in many cases people…

I find on say a 2 day fast like I am starting this evening there is part of me when approaching the breaking of it that does not want to finish, It's is a feeling that is hard to explain and I am still as a newbie trying to articulate it. And for those saying fasting is not normal and not good for the body, it is…

Yes it is take it we are going to get no more interuptions from you now seeing as though you are so anti, Bye And thanks for massive contribution
-
Yeah, and it will give you a blinding headache :-)
-
No, does not work like that. Your body burns glucose from your liver in the majority of people, and when that is not available it eats away at fat stores and any other proteins sources and waste, even scar tissue before muscle even becomes an option, and that is a long way down the road.

Tell me how you got on, love hearing these stories.
-
Elaborate, and who mentioned 5 day fasting?
-
A bit baffled as to why you have got so may likes when you have contributed nothing to the thread, was it something I missed from another thread?

I am doing an Olympic distance in early Sept, so I can take a few risks at the moment, but of course you are right. I just really need to take the 10lb off then I am good to go, 5 lb now. Training on the last hour of a 24 hour fast is amazing I might add, the feeling I had the two times I did was just brilliant
-
I am reading about these fasts, like I said earlier I find it easier on a a short fast to just do a straight 24 hours, there is hardly any difficulty for me.
-
I have read about the 16 8 Sabern, If I am doing say just a short fast I fine it easier to just go the full 24 hours, say from 7pm Sunday to 7pm Monday. But I am still learning, and even when I get to my target weight and the way I feel now I would like fasting in my life from now on.

I am having this very experience this afternoon. I finished work early and it is such a hot lovely day I went for a 50 mile cycle ride, and that's after doing a 50 mile ride on Sunday with a fast group. I have fallen in love with cycling this year, where has it been all my life, it really is not difficult to get motivated…

I met an amazing customer recently who was I think what you would class an ultra cyclist who had at first appeared not in any impressive. I later went on to find he has cycled UK to Turkey, full length New Zealand., John O'Groats to lands end numerous times, Uk to Spain .. and much more. He showed me his camping gear and…

MM I have not been putting any entries in, just been getting on with it. I can honestly say I am eating mostly like a saint, plenty of fruit veg, chicken and fish and a few spuds or brown rice etc

The slight difference Sherri is that I never lost my motivation though down a little. I really noticed it in myself how I was not smiling at anyone, I am quite a cheery little git normally. I had to make myself not ride in the last few days, like I said I have been loving it. Not been Out again today, so that is actually 5…

Every couple of days I am jumping from road to off road to vary the rides.. The off roads are usually between 20 and 25 miles, most of the road rides are around 30 to 45 miles.. the long rides have been at the weekend and the last 80 mile one I did I threw in a fish and chip dinner at 50 miles :) .. they never hit the side…

Some interesting thoughts spirit and partly some concerns I have been having myself. If your body get used to and is fuelled by crap then as good as your new fuel is your body will want to be still fuelled by crap partly. Interesting about the iron, will look into that.

Like I said I have been training like a dream and have been loving the cycling previously. In the past few months I have reduced alcohol consumption by a huge amount and I am eating like a saint while losing about 7LB, so not excessive weight loss. Yes my sleep is not brilliant and lately I have not needed as much of it,…

I really cannot explain it, it just happens at the precise time I start feeling great

Sweat is really quite a nice smell,, old or stale sweat is'nt

It is my favourite appliance in the kitchen now, it's a blender on steroids. Have you tried using carbonated mineral water in your smoothies?, nice.

Have to agree with the opening post to a large degree, the old saying "you are what you eat" is spot on. You can get away with being a little reckless when you are young, but one too many pizza's will get you one day. I thought I started eating healthy years ago, but it is shocking how you can get caught out, even now…

The reason I am making the big deal of the weight at the moment is the fact that right into my 40's I was able at the drop of a hat or after stopping running for ages do a 5 mile run without a worry and usually at around 8 minute miles. That's not to say I did no exercise prior to that, I did some work in the gym and some…
