Okay I understand I need to get a food scale but currently do not have one and don't have the exact budget for it right now. Food scales here cost 20-30 euros which is hefty for a student's budget. (I do not live in the states currently) Therefore I would appreciate if someone could please answer the topic at hand. Thanks!

Most of my breakfasts never require stove or any real work at all. I usually eat: Oatmeal toast with cream cheese or with some cottage cheese Cereal with milk Open faced sandwiches Yogurt Parfait Fruits You can also make eggs in the microwave if you're in a hurry. Just spray the inside of a mug with nonstick spray, chop up…

Well my hands are pretty small so idk if this will be accurate but the potato is slightly larger than my hand.

I'm not sure what that would be. I think it would be unhelpful to my diet and health to drink sugary drinks like soda or juice and I think I might become lactose intolerant if I attempted to drink 8 glasses of milk a day instead lol.

Positive. I typed in "cooked brown rice" into the search bar. Anyways, I'm going to regard this as a fluke, because there's no way it can be 500 cals right?

anyone?

oops I posted this in the wrong section. I thought I was in the food & nutritions board. Sorry!

I eat about 1300 calories a day. Cutting out the carbs at dinner really cuts back the calories. Like just having a 6 oz chicken breast with steamed veggies on the side equals up to about 300 calories. Substituting squash spaghetti instead of actual spaghetti can also cut down the calories insanely. Breakfast also tends to…

You're right, it's totally joyless, and I think it's gonna be a tough ride because I'm a total foodie. But the last time I just stuck with what i usually ate (but at smaller portions), I lost overall weight but I wasn't losing the stubborn tummy fat. I guess because i was still eating processed foods and sugars. I don't…

I didn't realize these kinds of foods were possible to eat while trying to lose weight :O I'm drooling over some of these pictures! I'm just living off of chicken breast, steamed veggies, and salad. How do you guys have the leeway for things like...banana splits and deep fried cheese balls?

Thank you all for the kind words :) This time I think i'm coming back with a vengeance and decided I'm going to work at it twice harder than I did before.
-
good tip! Since it's winter I think it'll also be easier to get away with always wearing a hat ;)
-
Me too! I honestly didn't care what and how much I ate. I even had this thought in my head "I better eat all of this now while I can still get away with it. When I get older, I won't be able to eat these things anymore so I should enjoy it now" I actually still kind of think that but I'm much more limited now because I…

That's genius! The laundry detergents as weights I mean. I've been using jars of jam as dumbbells but it was nowhere near heavy enough. Laundry detergents will work. Thanks for the idea :)

How else would you describe my body type then without being wordy? Honestly it's just a slang that I used to try to explain the situation I'm in even if it was misused. I'm sure other people didn't think so much into it and generally got the point I was getting at, so no need to be so bothered by it :ohwell:
-
Sorry I didn't know how else to describe my body type without overgeneralizing. I.e. unfit/out of shape is way too broad. Skinnyfat is the closest term to describing what I mean even if I'm not politically correct. And thanks to everyone for their help. Especially the Bodyrock.tv link! I checked it out and it's amazing, I…

Actually they are different. In the first topic I was wondering if losing weight = burning fat and people recommended that I do strength training Therefore I posted the second topic because I was wondering how strength training works. I was confused about it. and this third topic is now asking if I could susbtitute other…

-Clementines are a low calorie and super convenient snack. Only 35 calories in one. Sometimes I like to mix some in with muesli and plain yogurt to make a low calorie parfait. And this helps substitute for things like ice cream or the flavored yogurts. -Celery with peanut butter -Wheat thins with tuna can be substituted…

I fluctuate between 113-115 lb at 5'5 with a BF% of 25

I love her too! But agree with her overly bubbly personality. I don't know how she can be so bubbly and energetic while doing the most killer workouts. I'm over here barely even able to talk and she's there giggling away and having a whole conversation. It's astounding :indifferent:

I'm not sure what your advice actually is other than "you're not going to see anything from losing 2 lbs". I posted this hoping people can suggest some ways I can make some changes.
-
I was hoping my waist size would go down, even if it's just half an inch.
-
haha okay yeah, I can see how that sounded silly. Let me clarify at bit. I'm already at a low weight (113 lbs) so a 2 lb weight loss makes a difference. I wanted to diet down to 110 and no further than that because I think I would be becoming incredibly underweight at this point. The thing is, Idk if I'm going to see any…

Agree with everyone saying he's an idiot and that he's insecure. Before I started exercising and dieting my boyfriend at the time told me that he would feel really insecure if I had this perfect athletic body cause he had a little chub on him and would feel like I was out of his league. Idk your husband, but this the exact…

You can also substitute your snacks. This doesn't mean you have to substitute them with rabbit food like celery stalks or carrot. For example, if you get a chocolate craving don't eat an entire bar of chocolate which can be 500+ calories right there. Instead, get a small piece of toast (65 calories) and put one teaspoon of…

I do the same thing! Most of my calories go towards snacks too. Honestly I'm snacking as we speak. I find it hard to curb my late night cravings and I always end up succumbing so this is what I do. I just go ahead and eat it but I log them in as breakfast for the next day instead of as snacks for today. So the next morning…

If by accustomed you mean you think that your body will gain weight if you eat anything else, I don't think that's true. As long as whatever else you eat is the same caloric value as what you're eating now, you shouldn't gain weight. But I think that the only way it is unhealthy is that you're not getting much variety so…

Don't worry. We all have those days. Mine happened to be today too. I just ate 360 calories worth of chocolate. And decided screw it, I'm gonna have my spaghetti dinner which came out to a whopping 600 calories and that's already 80% of my day in calories. Oh well, guess I'll just have to be good for the rest of this week.
