Oh, one more thing! I am hypothyroid and have been on daily synthroid for the past 7+ years (dosage has increased from 50 micrograms to 112 micrograms over that time). Per my endocrinologist, my thyroid is about as effective as "a piece of cardboard" at this point  It took me awhile to even start trying to lose…

Thanks so much everyone! I am so glad it has helped you all to see my slow and steady progress. Although the 20 lbs technically took 6 months to lose, I went easy over the holidays (just maintained) so it was probably more like 5 months of active weight loss. My basic strategy has been to make healthier, sustainable…

Thanks so much, everyone! The last 6 months have had ups and downs (figuratively and on the scale  ), but seeing the progress in pictures has really helped me want to keep going! I hope I can inspire a few people to do the same, just as I've been inspired by so many on these boards!

Chub rub! Doesn't sound like a NSV, does it? But bear with me... I run in running skirts with the built in bike shorts. When I was 20 lbs heavier, my thighs would rub together and the bike shorts would ride up from the friction. At some point, that stopped happening and I realized it was because my thighs had slimmed down…

You look great! Those are some of my favorite jeans, too :)

My favorite NSV - new clothes in a smaller size! Or fitting the old ones that I haven't worn in awhile. Congratulations!

Way to go! We are on almost the same path (SW: 180.4, CW: 167, working on it since September) - it's so encouraging to see other people having success to keep me motivated

Back to back 10Ks (one last weekend and once this weekend)!

Resurrecting an old thread to ask a follow-up question. I'd like to make some traditional bread-based stuffing this Thanksgiving, but my mom has Celiac disease. Any suggestions for brands of GF bread that might hold up to a recipe for stuffing?

SW: 180.4 CW: 170.6 GW: 165 (for Nov) Weigh in Dates: 11/1: 170.6 11/8 11/15 11/22 11/31 Total weight lost: I'm thankful for the progress I've seen in weight loss, so far. I delayed starting to work on my weight for so long because I was pessimistic about the potential for results. But -10lbs in 2 months is not too shabby!

Great job on your post-work run! I am just another voice to add to everyone who has said it's mostly a matter of getting past the mental obstacles. I am by no means a "seasoned runner" and I have also started and stopped several times in the past. This time seems to be sticking though and I have found that YES, for me, it…

Yum - so many great ideas!

Great job! You'll be surprised how the miles add up when you keep up with it...

For me, I had to do it "cold turkey" and force myself out of bed at 5:30am when my alarm went off. The biggest thing in keeping me on that schedule was going to bed earlier. That was also the hardest in some ways (I miss some of my favorite TV shows but DVR them, don't have time to do as much around the house in the…

Good luck and congratulations to reaching your goal race! I hope to be joining you in 13.1 in the next year and look forward to your update/recap!

Last year's jeans were loose this morning - SCORE!

Looks delicious!

Must try....

What an awesome investment you've made in your future health! Great job!

The jeans never lie - Great job!

Your plan to hang in there is a good one! I am having a similar reaction this week. Those first few weeks of change always see the weight drop quickly (water weight, etc.) and then reality hits. Trying to look past the hump and keep a good attitude. It's not easy though, is it!

Bump!

Bumping this!

Made this tonight on the stovetop and it was so good! I cut several pieces of seedless rye bread (thin-sliced) into strips and toasted them under the broiler. We used them to sop up some of the soup and it was perfect. Every bite was just like eating a reuben! Thanks so much for sharing the recipe! Edited to add: I agree…

I've had the fixins for this for a few days now and keep forgetting to prep the crockpot before work. I am going to take a leap and just make it on the stove tonight - hope it works!
-
Awesome job and awesome times to both of you! You should be super proud!

Resurrecting this for dinner next week! BUMP :drinker:

Gotta love the "jeans victories"! They are the best - congratulations!
