  • drink your coffee... you might want to try to add some protein powder to it, but to get rid of stored fat and get muscle you need to workout and increase your calories using more protein. google it, you'll find how important it is.
  • You're not eating enough... you are close to goal weight for your height, when you are that close (say 50 lbs. or less) you need more calories to burn calories, sounds crazy but that's how it works. When you add in your workouts you drop even further so your body goes into fight back mode (saving/storing fat) Try to aim…
  • I did the 1200 and it was OK for about a month, then I found I was hungry real often so I upped it up to 1400 and so far so good. I normally workout everyday but my back is messed up right now so been down for two days, when I work out I do not eat them back, many say eat 1/2 back... so far I do not maybe when I'm thinner?…
  • Totally agree! and I find the seeded breads keep you full much longer! (also seem to fill you up faster)
  • I walk, I use the Walk Away the Pounds DVD's and anyone who says you aren't getting a workout by walking needs to do her 3 mile super fat burner! For me walking is something I can do anytime, any place, in any weather! I can go outside and walk if the weather is good and not too hot or I can walk right in my home to one of…
  • I never found Slimfast useful, and when you stop you gain... Why use it when there are so many fit meals out there? In the freezer section at the Market although high in sodium they are cheap and taste good. Then there is the deli and produce sections, which have nice salads already made and other things, those being…
  • Yes when you get that close to goal or in your case minimal of goad wt. for ht. you will need more calories to lose, try going up to 1400 or even 1500 and see how that goes. if you go into MFP and set to lose 0.5 a week it should up your calories to you can track them for a higher amount.
  • This is the one I use too... the chocolate is delish but I mainly buy the vanilla because it goes with everything LOL my Dr. recommends it and he specializes in diabetes so... I usually have it as a shake for my breakfast.
  • at either of these sizes (10/12) you are not obese at any view. you might be slightly over idea weight but that's it... I am wondering if the most you'd need to lose to fit that size 8 is to lose 10 lbs. or less which would be a short term drastic reduction in calories since it is so near date. I believe that the comment…
  • I agree with newlife... take one small thing at a time and get back on track. I think the problem is you saw what you loved, you know what you want, and you are simply not happy where you are at, so you caught the I don't care, why bother mindset... flip it to I'm going somewhere I want to be and I'll be happy and I'm…
  • Yep... sorry but you need to know the weight of the chicken breasts you're using but I can get 2 even 3 MEALS out of one chicken breast going on a serving is 3 oz. We think servings are bigger than they are... so if you have 5 chicken breast than yes you have 10 to 15 servings, easily 13! The recipe gives less because we…
  • If the scale says you are overweight then you are... period! We use what other people say or do as an excuse, often and all or at least MOST of us have at some point. Thank them, but step on that scale if it doesn't have you in the upper (top range) ideal weight for your height, then you are overweight. You said it, they…
  • I look at them all too, and I have to be honest as with any health issue I trust WebMD and the Mayoclinic most. I just find there is way too much out there, too many opinions so you have to find who you trust and well... trust them! lol So up your calorie intake and see how it goes.
  • Who ever you have medically supervising you at 1000 calories should have a whole list of what to eat each day... you can look at mine but my goal is 1200 I, like most do not go over or rarely go up to the 1200 but you are welcome to look it over. Again if they have you on a 1000 or less limit you need to tell them to give…
  • You look wonderful! You are truly an inspiration! Thank you for sharing your story!
  • Here is a link, and you can google more... I trust them and although I am not 70+ I am a open heart surgery survivor and I have done my homework on who to trust when it comes to my heart! Some people are able to be more active than others, usually because they have been fit and active for years and years, so also do not…
  • That absolutely is water retention weight! (might want to check the sodium level) Watch your sodium intake for a few days and drink plenty of water, and even try some warm water (or hot tea) it honestly helps wash it out. There is no way those few calories made you gain any weight!
  • OK I know what they all say and there is a reason behind, your calorie set by MFP is with the activity level you chose, most choose sedentary, then how many pounds you want to lose a week, so many say 2 lbs. so then MFP calculates with sedentary workouts you need 1200 calories. OK when you add a nice workout which now…
  • I honestly think you are doing really good... my daughter who lost like you, had to increase her calories she tries to keep them in the 1400 to 1600 max, normally about 1400 a day and continues to work out 5 days a week, so seeing her progress and from what I have read up on the subject, I'd say try increasing your…
  • I have to say I agree. I am on a lifestyle change meal pattern... ok to me that's a lifestyle diet, but some people think the minute you say diet, it's a temp. Anyway (guess that was my rant lol) I intend to eat this way for LIFE, I will add more calories when I get to goal but I will always, as we all will always have a…
  • I take my Dr.'s advice and eat salad, as in just the greens not adding more except maybe onion, so for example a whole bag of Spring mix salad greens is 50 calories (check them out at your local market, those big bags often 2 for $4 or $5) I typically eat about 1/2 the bag and I then use (Great Value from Wal-Mart) White…
  • I was hopeful it was the whole combo EXCEPT none of these sweet cream cheese filled are a set or even basic combo, YOU pick which other parts you want which are breakfast meals, like 2 eggs, hash-brown's sausage or ham or bacon or all 3... with the crepe on the side. Their plain crepes as in nothing, are 400 - 500…
  • Yep I believe that is true, I saw my healthy options and went right to the bad choice, making my mind see it as OK... I had looked for where I am going today and have the whole plan... but this stop last night was totally unexpected and I don't have a smart phone, Ironically I thought about texting my daughter for the…
  • Thank you... it is nice to know others have been in these shoes...
  • Oh yes I always do and even advise others, just like you have here, get the to go right away and put 1/2 away for another meal... but I was stuck on stupid as they say lol... and it was such a small amount, 1 crepe and a few pieces of chicken... I can laugh about it today but ouch!
  • Thank you! I designed my 'diet' or lifestyle change for LIFE not just to lose wt. I intended it as a way to eat the rest of my life, although a bit more calories at goal lol. but in that thought and planning was I would be normal on special events and holidays and have that extra piece of pie or cake. So I agree you need…
  • Well I tried less as MFP recommends but I ended up gaining or not losing at all... so nope I do it everyday, it's kind of like clocking in and the pay at the end of the week is hopefully a healthier lighter body. I know (as in 30+ yrs.) two very nice, trim, fit ladies, one of them weighed everyday and if there was a 2 lb.…
  • Thank you! Nothing is going to stop me, I just like having an idea of what I might be facing, and trying to minimalize it, if I can, along the way.
  • In doing my research I thought that the sleeve was the better choice, less invasive. I totally agree that you need to go to a seminar and check it all out, including what will be required of YOU. I decided after looking at it all that doing it the old fashion way, diet and exercise was a better choice for me. My brother…
  • Check online to see if the place you are going has their menu online, often they will have the calories and nutrition values listed for their main foods. Keep in mind that anything steamed is a better choice, less or no sauce is also a major plus. But here is the best idea I was ever shown (and now follow) ask for a to-go…
