Quest Protein Bars are the bomb. They have around 18g of fiber each (depending on the flavor), 20g of protein, and 4–6 net carbs. And no sugar alcohols. They taste sooooo good. My favorite flavor is either the mixed berry bliss or the chocolate fudge. SO AMAZING.

walmart sells a really good body fortress flavored whey protein. I really like the vanilla flavor the most, but I've also tried chocolate. It tastes best if you mix it with unsweetened almond milk (if you're not allergic). unsweetened almond milk only has 40 calories a serving and it helps the protein blend better, and it…

The actual recommended amount of fiber for women is something like 25g…I think MFP has it much lower. Fiber is good because it can make you feel full and also helps with regular…movements. Hahaha. So yes, but getting too much fiber can have the opposite effect. Most people don't consume that much fiber on a daily basis so…

lol at "fruit has the good kind of sugar". That is complete bull****. Just saying. Your body might use the sugar beneficially if you have a moderate amount before/after a workout, but having tons of fruit on a day where you're doing no physical activity is almost as bad as eating candy. Vitamin and fiber-infused candy.

It's a suggestion, but it's based on research. Even though fruit does have vitamins, consuming lots of fruit isn't beneficial for losing weight because SUGAR is still SUGAR. If you want the "health benefits", just eat green vegetables, and keep fruit to a minimum. Berries (for the most part) have the least amount of sugar…

yeah. I was kind of always a chubby kid and my mom would give me "helpful hints" on exercising and losing weight and it just made me feel fat and unloved and I would go on crash diets that never worked. Now at 23, I'm the lowest weight I've been in the last 8 years, and it was because no one was pushing me to lose weight.…

It doesn't matter. It doesn't "fuel your metabolism" to eat lots of smaller meals throughout the day. I just do it because it stops me from snacking. Also, if I eat later in the day, I tend to want to eat more so I try to have my last meal around 6 p.m. Calories are calories, it doesn't matter what time you're getting them…

The only way to know for sure I think would be to get blood tests done to make sure it's nothing serious, but once I went low carb I started waking up way easier. I used to have to set four alarms to wake up every morning, and now I usually wake up BEFORE my alarm. Haha. But yeah, I've cut out all…

Toning is just a frou frou term for building muscle (through exercise) and losing fat (through diet/exercise). You develop muscle really slowly so if you started to notice muscles you could stop. The insanity workouts would probably work better than p90x because I think for p90x you need to have certain equipment. Insanity…

things you can try: 1. Drinking more water/tea (green tea can help suppress hunger cravings) 2. Try to eat less carbs—limit to under 100–150g. This works for some people (including me). Most people are getting way more carbs than they need, and carbs spike an insulin response, moreso in some people that makes you "crash"…

You can't spot reduce fat. I've been lifting weights for the past 6+ weeks to try to build muscle to get more definition in my arms, and I'm now down to about 21% body fat (from 25% a few months ago) and I still have flabby arms. So as you lose weight, your body will decide when it starts taking fat from your arms. :(…

I'm doing keto, but I'm planning on switching to paleo after this semester is over to be able to fully adjust. It's awesome! :)

When I started dieting seriously in early December, I was 167, and I lost 20 pounds by mid-February. It took me three more months to lose 10 pounds, but now I'm at the lowest weight I've ever been (134) and I'm trying to lose 10 more, but I'm more focused on losing body fat rather than "losing weight".

Luna Bars have 10g of sugar (about 2.5 teaspoons), which isn't as much as some of the other bars, but it's still not that great. I get quest bars because they only have 4g net carbs, and they're really delicious. But to each their own.

basically all of them are no better than candy bars because they're full of sugar/carbs. The only one I've found that isn't full of crap are Quest Bars (http://www.questproteinbar.com/) but they're only available online right now. you can get free shipping on a box right now with the code facebooklove. I love the vanilla…

Um...there are tons of "couch to 5k" programs that you can follow, but they're all 9 weeks. Maybe you can see if you can start at week 5 or 6? I had to stop when I got up to week 7 because I injured myself, but was able to run a 5k this past weekend without stopping. Training for a 5k properly really takes more than 3…

Starvation mode is a myth (unless you're actually underweight/starving will your body go into "starvation mode"), although your metabolism can slow down. You may also want to try having a "cheat day" where you eat slightly more calories—this can also break a plateau. Here's an article about the "starvation mode" myth:…

With females especially, we have times where our bodies retain water during certain times of the month, and the scale doesn't reflect our dietary changes. I've had weeks where I haven't lost weight on the scale while still losing inches, and then lost 3 lbs out of nowhere. Just keep at it! Don't worry too much about the…

They're quite a bit over-hyped, IMO. Also, they're not recommended if you have flat feet...I think it'd be better to just have regular shoes with support. I used to work at a shoe store (for almost three years) and had a woman come in who used to always wear regular flip flops and her arch fell so that she had so many…

Yeah. You can't spot reduce fat. Doing weight training overall is good because muscle burns fat even when you aren't working it, but diet is really the most important part. Your body chooses where it stores fat, so it also chooses where it burns fat when you lose weight. I've lost 35 pounds and I still have a tiny bit of…
