Be sure that a HRM will actually work for swimming, I have heard that HRM will not work properly in water, the sensors don't pick up properly. They are water resistant for sweat and for when the wearer may be getting wet, think triathlons. They wont be using the HRM for the swim portion but for the run and bike portion. I…

I cant say I have swapped anything, I did start using one slice of toast with jam and peanut butter for breakfast instead of making a sandwich.

You can also buy a refillable bottle and just refill it with tap water or filtered water if you are so inclined. Its cheaper then buying water. Plus can you not recycle your water bottles? I also get paid back a deposit on mine. Of course the last time I bought water was a few months ago when I forgot my bottle when I went…

I do not agree completely that if you cannot swim many laps that it is because of your breathing, though it can totally factor in. For me it is about endurance. Similar to running, you cannot run a marathon out of the gate, you have to build up your endurance and training to get you there. In the last few weeks since I…

The best that I have ever used was a natural deodorant I picked up at a farmers market. Worked wonders on sweat and smell (I can get very smelly) and it didn't stain my clothes, unfortunately for me though, I developed a sensitivity to it and had to give it up.

I always wore my glasses, until I got LASIK, best thing I ever did. Only time I didn't wear glasses was when I was swimming laps. And it sucked not being able to see the clock, even the giant one.

Wow I cant believe how little some people eat for lunch  Currently my work location has a sink, fridge and microwave so I usually bring left overs. This week it is homemade enchiladas, other times it is a frozen meal I had made previously (stew, rice and beans, etc.) Since I am also currently living on my own I…

In my area its either paper bags (select few groceries) or your own reusable grocery bags or bins. In the city there are a few that will still supply plastic bags but they charge 5-10 cents per bag.

Are you asking about herbs and spices? If so, they are all good except for lots of parsley and any amount of cilantro in my opinion. My favs are a Cajun spice mix, cumin, cinnamon, and Italian seasoning (thyme, oregano, basil, rosemary), oh and lime and lemon juice. It really depends on what you are cooking or making and…

I have picked the chocolate coating off of food, including chocolate bars. Since I am not a fan of chocolate, but love the nut and caramel goodness that is inside that evil chocolate. But that was in my pre logging days. I haven't had the opportunity to add it to the database yet.

I have just found it impossible, also could be because I don't like ice cold things as well. **As I read my comments on how I do not like all those things, I am sounding very picky, lol. I do love many other things, just not frozen fruit.

I am laughing a little because at 5'6" myself 135 is my goal weight. But it does sound like you received lots of excellent advice.

I personally do not like frozen fruit by itself, I cant stand the texture after thawing and I hate smoothies, if I froze any fruit then I would have to thaw it afterwards to eat then its usually a mushy mess. I also don't understand how you can eat a frozen grape or cherry, too solid to bite through. However I keep berries…

If you are going to get tested then do NOT stop eating gluten. If you stop eating gluten before the test then you will get a false negative. In Canada if you are diagnosed you can get income tax rebates on some of your groceries, since it is for a health condition.

You edit the recipes on your phone app, but not on the computer, I just found this out last week myself.

If you are hydrated I wouldn't worry about it. Also you get your daily fluid requirements from foods you eat as well. If your urine is a pale yellow then you are hydrated. Dark yellow is dehydrated. If you want to start drinking water again for health reasons, the only advice I have to give is to just force yourself.

I find that shredded carrots help with the combining effects similar to mayo, and look its an added vegetable to the sandwich and adds a bit of a crunch as well. I reduced my mayo and added more shredded carrots.

Don't give up on pasta, just have it as a side instead of the main meal, Or add a whole lot of veggies to it. Also this link has a lot of good information that will help. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1080242-a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants I pasted the first link but they are on to part 3…

I would talk to his doctor and maybe get a referral to a registered dietician that works with children. Maybe he doesn't need to track calories exactly, but just have a food log, studies have proven that just logging it beneficial since you are being accountable for what you are eating. With that any notebook would do, I…

I will never have a flat belly, even as a young teen when I was skinny and very little body fat, my stomach concaves out. It had no flab but it definitely wasn't flat. I also carry my fat in my stomach area and from there it spreads, so it will take a lot more effort then I am putting in now to get that fantastic low fat…

Front crawl and Freestyle are one and the same. Freestyle is the competition word for front crawl for lack of a better explanation.

I have to admit I am in the North (Canada) but I love sweet tea, I blame my sister for living in the south and introducing me to it. ooh and barbeque, I still dream about that barbeque. I make my own and I use less sugar then called for in my recipe, I also add lemon or sometimes herb it as well to get more of a flavor out…

I went to Cuba a month ago. My tips: eat and drink what you want, I came back the same weight (a lot of the food isn't that great, some of it is, just don't go crazy) In fact all of none of us gained. Bring a Large mug to have your drinks filled up, its much better then the little teeny tiny plastic ones they give you. hey…

Sigh, that's what I thought, I wish that the options would be the same on both computer and phone app. I guess I will just have to suck it up. :drinker:

I have to admit, I did not join the Masters Swim that night, working a lot of OT and I was just tired, Try again on Thursday!!

Then you may not have had shin splints, I have tried to run through mine and the stabbing pain every time I took a step even walking after that was enough to tell me NO.

Just tried on the computer, I can go to the recipe and 'edit' but you can change the ingredients without deleting and adding new ones. I have recipes for salads, stir fries, and nachos and I do not use the same amount or same types of ingredients every time. The only things you can edit on the computer are deleting…

I use my timex stopwatch, I got one that allows you to tap to start the next lap. I also looked at getting the Garmin swim watch, since it can be used for the pool and outdoor swimming (I have 2 races this summer) I think you can also buy waterproof/water resistant stop watches at sport stores.
