  • I've worked the graveyard shift for 8 years, most times two weeks of night shift then two weeks on day shift. I like tuna with mayo and spices on romain lettuce leaves;sometimes just a salad and a yogurt; sometimes I have vegetable soup, no crackers; sometimes it's finger foods like cheese string, dill pickles, hard boiled…
  • At 2a.m. -Go pee, have a glass of water and then go back to bed. Try not to make eating at 2 a habit. Eat breakfast at your usual time and log it.
  • I haven't had one for awhile. I preferred to microwave them for about 10 seconds but they are edible straight out of the package.
  • I find looking at other peoples diary will give you some ideas. My diary isn't that great but it open for friends to see. I'll send a friend request
  • Tried this app but drained my phone battery. I just go for walks now-old school, without a phone to distract me. I'll sent a friend request
  • I switch from days to nights regularly. Not big on working out,yet though, but understand the perils of night shifts. Anyone can add me as a friend
  • Although mine is not open to the public, it is however, open for friends to see. Feel free to add me as a friend anytime
  • I agree with dave4d. Eat every 3-4hours while awake and try to get plenty of sleep. I don't work 12 hour shifts (only 8 hour shifts, 11pm-7am) but the family stretches my days a little longer. I have a 1-3hour nap before work, drink a protein shake with chia seeds before work, meal around 3am, drinking lots of fluids…
  • A check up with the Doctor is a good start. You can do this. You can make little changes that will impact your health. How's the Striiv working for you? I'm looking into these electronic fitness trackers but I just don't know which one will be worth it and easy to link with MFP. I tried the PACER app but it just killed my…
  • Sounds all to familiar, as well. I started last year, basically on my own. I'm not one to ask for help, or admit that I need some words of encouragement now and again. I need a friend, or two. I could really use a buddy... Count me in. Add me as a friend
  • You can do it. Don't need to rely on that friend. You need to do this for yourself. Go for that walk and if a friend joins, that's great but do this with or without a friend. As for the sweets n soda, buy something better with your money. Better yet, everyday that you stop yourself from buying a soda/sweet, then put that…
  • Fast foods are very tempting, since they're on pretty much every corner and oh so convenient. Here are some of my tricks... I try to plan to have it over the weekend only. so if I crave it on Wednesday... I'll tell myself to wait til the weekend, by then I've forgetten or something better has replaced the craving. I try to…
  • The easiest crock pot recipe is frozen meatballs(about 2lbs.) and pour your favorite BBQ/ marinara sauce (500ml),leave on low heat for 6 hours. Serve with bread/ bun (depending if you want sub or sandwich) and vegetables&/salad. This feeds about 12+ people
  • I'm 43 with 3 teens and a husband. I too struggle to put down a decent meal, that's why I'm in this mess. I do shift work, so I like to use my crock pot or do a roast, this way I can put it all together and nap or put my feet up. Suppers now comprise of whatever with salad. We could be having vegetables, and we still have…
  • I've looked through many groups but a lot look very much inactive for more than 3+ months. I'm fairly new and need friends too. Send me a friend request , anytime. I'll help/encourage as best I can.
  • Not what I wanted to hear, but thanks for the reply.
  • Hello everyone. Just joined group because I'm still awake and everybody else is asleep. I'm a nurse,on a busy medical unit, that works both day shift and night shift, part time. Switching back and forth is brutal, but don't really have a choice. Both shifts has it's advantages and disadvantages, especially for my family.…
  • At 43, I've been considered obese all of my adult life, just now trying to put an end to that. For the last two weeks I've been watching what I eat and starting tomorrow, I'll get off the couch a little more often. You've found a new friend
  • Count me in. I need to do something other than just planning my meals for tomorrow. I'm just a beginner so I'll do 30 squats, 3 planks for 30 sec each and OMG 30 push ups.
  • Hi. I'm new too, and new to posting things. I've been reading things people have posted and never joined in on any particular topic. Mainly because too shy.Since this is my year to make some changes, thought might as well join for some support.
