What is seen and perceived are two different things. My sister (may she rest in peace) was fit as a damn fiddle! Ate healthy, worked out daily, was thin and strong. She even owned her own health club at one point. She was never overweight not even slightly, not even when she was pregnant. She died of a fatty liver.

Thanks for the link. I actually am a lot better now since taking a few courses of enzymes and probiotics, digestion teas and keeping my food light and easily digestible. Yeah, I am still getting some nicotine via Juul so my withdrawl symptoms aren't as bad as if I went cold turkey. I am also taking Wellbutrin which killed…

Maybe it's the wellbutrin?

Funny, I just made a post about quitting smoking and Wellbutrin. I recently quit smoking with the aid of Wellbutrin and a vape. I've been successful so far. Only issue I am having is bloat which is normal when you quit smoking. The Wellbutrin is known for causing weight loss in 99% of people who take it. It clearly states…

Hey there, this is an older post so you may not be checking but yeah, most likely water weight and yeah maybe even a little muscle gain :) it'll even out for you quickly no worries. Congratulations on quitting!

And I too am sorry for those of you who have experienced loss. It really sucks

I keep saying "Thanks" but I really mean it. It's nice to be heard. Last Friday I took the day off, went out and had breakfast with my brother-in-law and nephew, then I cleaned out my sisters bedroom dresser and closet. My brother-in-law couldn't really handle doing it but he wanted it done. I am strong... I got it done,…

Thanks everyone for the support. I appreciate it.

@mgrThiagoSilva thank you

@lizziebeth1028 thanks so much for the nice words. Yeah, life feels so flat, I couldn't have said it better. And I'm sorry you lost yours too. Yup, just going through the motions being the strong one for everyone around me, always. Every day I wake up and think "I need to make some changes". Nothing huge mind you, maybe a…

Ha! Right? Unless her doctor is an MD and not a nutritionist.
-
Well yeah. Any diet that eliminates or restricts an entire food group is going to cause a calorie deficit. Not sustainable.
-
But you're not 12 LBs down because of a Keto diet. You're 12 LBs down because of a calorie deficit. Should be clear about that first.

I read about a garlic and grapefruit diet that just melts the pounds away but only when you're in ketosis in-between IF after just coming off a paleo diet but only before the first cheat day of the month! Oh, and you have to be sitting in a big vat of cabbage soup with an ACV IV in your arm too, but only on active rest…

I'd also keep in mind that less money doesn't necessarily mean less food. But "Quality" and nutritious foods will be an issue I bet. I don't think weight loss is inevitable here, I think weight gain will be though. Remember there's going to be a lot of emotions at play here as well. Emotional attachment with foods that you…

As long as you're hitting your daily (or weekly) targets timing doesn't matter.

Media and fat acceptance: The fat lady making bologna sandwiches for her family to go to the game. The commercial is actually about an arthritis med I believe, she says something like "Watch me", like she won't let the arthritis stop her. I'm pretty sure sitting on your *kitten* eating bologna and cheese sandwiches isn't…

How you feel when eating only meat is how I feel when eating only plant-based. I am not a fan of these pop-up diet fads and think this one will come and go, or come and be modified and re-named sooner or later. Can't wait for the Dr. Oz piece on this. I'll keep my balance as well.
-
LOL I hear what you're saying. Lucky for me my husband is my champion and anytime someone comments about my weight or nutrition he chimes in and will say "Are you kidding me? she eats more than you and I both!" haha! In my case, I am a master licensed nutritionist, actual college and not an on-line course. I always have…

I love PB2, I also like Better N' Peanut Butter and I enjoy real peanut butter when it fits into my macro's for the day  I use PB2 to mix into my scrambled egg whites & raw oats in the morning, yum!

When I first started this journey years ago I wanted to cover all bases. I took some time and would let myself get super-hungry, then I'd eat real slow until I began to feel a little full. I did this for weeks until I knew how to listen to my own body again. I was totally eating based upon eating times - Breakfast, lunch,…

Same here! A few years ago I did a 30 day vegan challenge. Went cold turkey without doing any research. I ended up severely anemic and went back to some animal products. I then took some time to do thorough research and went about it the right way making sure all of my requirements were covered without the assistance of…

I love veganism and thrive on it as well. Totally enlightening! BTW... I am sure this post is simply about eating a plant based diet - not related to weight loss right? Because I see a lot of comments about proteins, etc. If the only concern is weight loss we could lose weight eating twinkies and pizza all day long... as…

Reduced calories. Just like all of the other so-called "scientific" plans and fad diets out there. Jeez.... and to the person who said "It's science", can you please post the scientific evidence to support that claim? Thanks.
