You're so right...

Average HS weight: 170 Today: 218...and I'm in better shape than I was in HS, so I like the added poundage.

Same here... Be glad that she told you the truth and get your body fat in-check. I hold weight in my jugs like a water in a camel's hump. As I get older, the problem gets worse, so keeping my body-fat low is even more important. We all hold body fat in advantageous/disadvantaged areas, and this one isn't on our side.

Terrific lunch time ride today. 19 miles 1:27 minutes Avg. speed of 13 mph Got home to find my new tires had arrived, so hopefully that avg. speed will increase even more soon.

LOL, times have indeed changed.

Your dad may have great credentials and knows about fitness, but many times "pros" are harder on their own family than they ever would be with someone else. I'm assuming that your family members that are picking on your 15 lbs. must be completely dialed-in physique wise themselves right???? If you like what you see when…

Amen on this one. My wife never supported me except by bring more junk food in the house. I've encouraged her to come to the gym, trained her (she got great results and was quite happy for a while), etc., but she hates to work out and could care less if I did or not. She likes the fruit of my labor, but that's about it.…

Feel free to add me as I'm so glad to be back on the bike after a long winter. I've been getting in 3-4 days over the last 3 weeks after 6 months of being locked indoors.

I love your reason behind getting better, but let me just add, that there's nothing wrong with being a great sprinter as well! I'm the same way and spent many guilt-hours wanting to be more of a distance runner. After years of trying to do something I just hated, I learned that I was still in great cardiovascular shape, as…

Fantastic work and thanks for once again showing the results that women can achieve with lifting hard and heavy!

I like regular straps myself. On the grip strength argument, I'd recommend you go with what fits your lifestyle. Certainly if you're playing a sport, I'd recommend no straps for the majority of your lifts. However, if you're a desk-jockey, it may not be nearly as important to you.

Pimps need cardio too...

True...it's part of my job...I'm not addicted. TNP - You carried a "beeper" before ever owning a cell phone.
-
True, but only when it comes to photos. TNP - You'll be glad when the basketball and hockey playoffs are done, so there will be less talk about sports.
-
True...who doesn't? TNP - Likes going to the gym on the holiday cause it's usually empty.

Pictures have always kept me motivated. My mind in the mirror can lie to me, but the camera lens always tells me the truth and it says, "This is how you look in real life, so you may wanna get back to work."

Always an escape when I'm lifting at home. Escape if I'm at the gym and it's empty but... Job if somebody's clogging up the power rack or leaving weights around everywhere so you never know what's being used and what isn't.

Triceps and a smile

I don't see fat or thin, just that I always need to work on making something better.

I agree with the above comments as well. People are jealous and just trying to bring you down now that they see you haven't failed. I've dealt with this as well and if it's from women, I usually return with a comment on how my wife is proud and receives all the benefits from being with a man that looks the way she want's…

I thought the same thing on the angled zipper! But I guess if my shirt was long enough, no biggie... and nice work on losing the inches!
