I'm 5'5" 35 years old. My goal weight is 150 or 18-20% BF, depending on which comes first. Currently size 12/14 pants and M/L shirts.

nothing will prevent loose skin, however I would strength train while losing and it will help. Also lots of water and keep your body hydrated while losing. Also lotion up. I use Gold Bond COq10 and it seems to help. At least to me it makes my skin appear healthier.

I have a bodymedia fit armband which is designed to wear while sleeping. I burn on average about 400 calories while sleeping. It does not measure your HR, but takes into account other things. Temperature, movement, etc.... It's a nice little thing to have to see how many calories you are burning everyday if that is what…

I've been hovering around 170-173 for about 6 weeks now. I have tried everything, more water, less calories, more calories, more exercise, less exercise. Now I am trying to do less carbs and see if that jump starts anything. I have about 20 more I would like to lose and I know it's going to be tough. I do look at the fact…

I have no idea, but my guess is that it is using the average # of calories you burn during that time.....

This is very interesting...what I do is keep a spreadsheet of my calorie deficit/overage for each day. This makes it a little easier for me to see the week as a whole instead of trying to look at it through this website or on my phone.

"What are you taking?"

Agree with Julie! Count here calories here, log onetime daily on BMF. I have the link and it's nice to look at it through out the day. I only sync mine 2x a week. I don't find mine bulky and after about a week wearing it you will forget you have it on.

I drink the Lipton Green Tea with Superfruit. Has Acai and blueberries. I don't need to add anything else to it.

Hi everyone, I am back and thanks for the comments. I have a new trainer now after not doing weight training for 2 months (long story with other trainer). She measured my BF% with calipers this time (other times done with handheld device). Here are my current measurements from her: Height 5'5" weight 174 lbs BF% 24 So my…

I have had mine since puberty as well and it has gotten smaller with weight loss. I wear something similar to spanx every day and it does help with the appearance. I will warn you though in the summer if you are wearing spanx or something similar it will get hot. I also wear a tank (by Danskin) under my t-shirts when I…

two things, try the Olivia method and also try to incorporate a snack or two in between meals. From what I have been told you should really eat every 3-4 hours to keep your metabolism up.

Have you calculated your BMR yet?
-
I started at 245 and a size 20W. I am 5'5". I am now 173 lbs and squeezing into a size 12 (misses). I lost about 30 lbs before I bought any new pants. I bought size 18 (misses). Hope this gives you an idea.

me too and I am so thankful that I have found very supportive friend on MFP that uses the same method!

It might have something to do with your activity level. My BMR is around 1500 ish, but I have my daily calorie goal set at my maintenance for when I reach my goal weight which is higher then my current BMR, but I try to avoid that number and keep my calories remaining in the green. I average about 1400 calories a day and…

1. how often are you weighing, if you are weighing yourself more then once a week, try staying off the scale 2. are you taking your measurements, measurements are a key factor is how your loss is going 3. sodium? are you going over your daily sodium allowance? I know if I eat too many frozen foods, or too much canned soup…

Last night I wore my armband on my left calf for the elliptical and treadmill. For the elliptical I feel it gave me a better read and closer to what I have been burning. Only about 50 calories off from the machine. I then decided to keep it on my leg for the treadmill and it was right on with my other workouts using the…

in the past I have given up bread and potatoes. Last year it was Facebook. This year I am giving up the scale, since I weigh myself everyday. I plan to log and keep up with my calories and exercise, but will stay off the scale for the next 6 weeks.

I generally don't comment on others diaries unless they ask for it. Do I look at them, sure, because I am always looking for new things to eat. If a person as had a really good day then I will comment on it.

I'll have to try this next time I am on the elliptical to see if it gives me a different #.

That's good to know. I have always wonder what I would burn according to a HRM.

My BMF gives me 1350 calories to eat and 2350 to burn to lose 2 lbs a week (if I do this everyday). MFP says I have to eat 1200 to lose 2 lbs a week. There is no way I can live on 1200 calories a day. I can do it one or two days, but after that I have to up my calories or I start feeling sick.

How long have you had it now? I think it took a couple of weeks for mine to adjust. I think it underestimates calories burned (when exercising), but that is just me. I wear it about 23 hours a day and input my food calories from MFP into the activity manager at the end of the day. Yesterday I didn't go to the gym and just…

I agree with others, BC has little to no effect on weight loss. I have been on a few different pills since starting my journey and it has not affected my loss. Now yes TOM will and I can hold 2-5 lbs of retention for a few days before starting. So just keep at it and it will slowly come off.
