That's probably what people are thinking when you say you're starting an "eating cleanse." Only fools don't know that the liver and kidneys cleanse the body just fine.

You can purchase a regular pedometer for much less than a Fitbit if you want to know how many steps you are taking.

Uh, it was definitely not written by me.

@bcalvanese Why are you so concerned with whether or not a person exercises while losing weight?

Any time you change your diet, or anything that goes into your body for that matter- you can experience a loss of menstruation (or changes in your cycle). Most likely this is due to changing your diet. However, you should always call your GYN and let them know you missed a period. They will likely want you to schedule an…

So you didn't seek help right away is what I'm guessing. Either way, you came here asking for support. That's what I gave you. I told you what worked for me. You can choose to take my advice if you feel that the therapy you are currently undergoing is not helping you. Having an open mind to trying new things is key to…

I just addressed that in my last post- that you didn't say how long you've been in therapy. However, you did specifically say that you've been dealing with this for a few years now. That gives off the impression that you have been in therapy for a while.
-
You don't know how long she's been in therapy for or what her therapy consists of. There's nothing wrong with me telling the OP what worked for me and suggesting she look into it. No, not everyone with mental health disorders responds the same to treatment. However, if she is currently meeting with a therapist and simply…

Funny thing is so am I. Might want to get your facts straight :)

Not appropriate? Oh please, get over yourself. As someone who suffered from severe panic attacks and agoraphobia and still struggles daily, it is perfectly "appropriate" for me to tell this woman (who struggles with the same things as me) what therapy she should be looking into. It isn't an opinion. It is proven science.…

If this were true, sugar free syrups wouldn't be suggested to individuals with metabolic conditions such as diabetes, insulin resistance, and hypoglycemia.
-
It might not be the right kind of therapy if you still cannot leave the house… People with agoraphobia need intensive exposure therapy, which is what cognitive behavioral therapy is.

Buy food from Aldi and bulk stores like Sam's Club and BJ's. Buy frozen meat and fish. Buy frozen vegetables and fruit (unless in season).

@babyleonard5 The only way to get over agoraphobia/your fear of leaving the house is to leave the house. It's not going to be comfortable. You're going to be anxious. You're going to feel terrible. But if you want to move forward with your life, you need to do it. I suggest looking into CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy).

Given that you are almost 300 lbs, it's safe to assume you have some degree of insulin resistance- which is most likely why your doctor recommended a low carb diet. By the way, low carb doesn't mean you need to net 50 grams a day. Even 100-125 grams a day would be much better than how many carbs you are eating now.

No foods directly cause weight loss. Weight loss comes from a calorie deficit.

That doesn't make sense since fat has little to no effect on blood glucose which is why dietitians recommend a high fat, low carb diet to diabetics...

Chicken breast is a wonderful source of protein for pre-diabetics and diabetics. It's lean and fairly low calorie.

Does diabetes run in your family? If yes, it doesn't matter whether you eat healthy, exercise frequently, and are a healthy weight. You are still predisposed. Diabetes doesn't discriminate. The simple fact that you had GD increases your odds of developing type 2 diabetes. I would suggest taking a look at the KIND of carbs…

Weight training does not burn anywhere near as many calories as you think it does. Just saying.

1) She didn't call you any names. 2) Take a look at her profile picture. That's proof. 3) You're telling the OP who is not very active that they will lose weight eating 1600+ calories. She's 4'10". Chances are, she is not going to lose weight eating that many calories.
-
Based on her 6 posts, I don't think she knows what she is talking about. Her macros don't even add up to 100%! Don't sweat it ;)
-
Sorry but you are wrong. A person can absolutely receive 100% adequate nutrition eating 1200 calories; they just have less room for cookies, ice cream, chips, and other goodies people like to enjoy because most of their calories need to come from nutrient dense foods. Also, I don't believe for a second that you are 4'10"…
-
Uh… No, it doesn't.

@socalkay No offense but you're nearly 60 years old. I'm not too sure how much "hanky-panky" goes on here with people of/near your age- which is most likely why you've never propositioned or been propositioned. Or they're just not interested… Also, let me take a wild guess… you're one of those people who think women who…
