Since you are taking insulin, you need to ask your OBGYN to refer you to a registered dietitian; preferably someone who specializes in diabetes management.

OP: This sounds like a personal problem. You have male friends in real life, I'm assuming. Assuming you have Facebook or other social media, surely you've requested males there before. So why is it weird to send a male a friend request on MFP? This is a fitness website; if you request a male, they aren't going to think…
-
You must be unaware of what goes on here at MFP…

5 min of jumping jacks doesn't burn nearly enough calories to cover an ice cream bar…
-
But how many are you actually eating?

You should not be eating in a calorie deficit post-surgery. You will not heal. You need to put the weight loss on hold until you are fully recovered from surgery.

With a diet like that, I wouldn't be surprised if you end up with cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol, high BP, and vitamin deficiencies. That might sound rude but your diet is very energy and calorie dense but not nutrient dense. Your diet lacks fruits and veggies. To be frank, it doesn't matter whether you like…

I would add vegetables that are in season like squash, cucumbers, broccoli, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. I would also add cheese, Greek yogurt, and cottage cheese; if you can tolerate dairy.

I definitely think the dinner was way more than 700 calories. Gravy can be high calorie, beef is high calorie, and potatoes are high calorie at restaurants because they add a lot of stuff to them. Beef- Depending on the portion and percentage of fat, I'd say 250 calories Gravy- 150 calories Cabbage- 50 calories Peas- 100…

You are 150 lbs. You shouldn't be trying to lose 2 lbs a week. Weight loss isn't a race. Slow and steady is optimal.
-
@smslogan317 Also, I hate to tell ya but eating 250+ grams of protein is most certainly stimulating the production of insulin. Protein is insulinogenic.
-
No, it doesn't work like that. Insulin is a hormone made by the pancreas that allows your body to use glucose from carbohydrates in the food that you eat for energy or to store glucose for future use. Insulin helps keeps your blood sugar level from getting too high or too low. The release of insulin is NOT some God-awful…

Unless you use a food scale and weigh every single food item you consume, you are most likely eating way more than an "average toddler."
-
Herbalife doesn't do the work for you. Do you use a food scale to weigh all food you consume?

Seeing people at the gym or people seeing you working out in your neighborhood SHOULD NOT hold you back from going to the gym or walking in your neighborhood. It sounds like you have serious underlying psychological issues that need to be addressed by a professional before you should try losing weight.

Wrong. If this were true, artificial sweeteners wouldn't be recommended to diabetics.

Fruit: Fructose and glucose Donut: Fructose and glucose

You are overthinking this wayyyyyyyy too much… Let it go

Unless you have diabetes, insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, hypoglycemia, hyperinsulinemia, don't worry about sugar intake.

If she's in a relationship… Why are you even asking this question? Who cares whether she's 'into' you or not. She has a significant other.

OP: Your fat and protein intake are significantly low. You need to increase protein and fat intake. I would drop your carbohydrate intake to 100-125 grams/day. To increase protein and fat, try eating more chicken, ground beef, ground turkey, steak, beef jerky, turkey jerky, fish, nuts, seeds, nut butters, olive oil,…
-
That is not true at all. Calorie surplus, calorie deficit, or maintenance- carb intake matters and can either positively or negatively affect A1c.

I wasn't talking about Quest bars. Quest are only like $26 for a box of 12 at GNC with a membership. I was talking about the 22 Day bars. Those are the ones that are $36 for 12.

36 dollars for a box of 12? How delicious are we talking…….?

I've never met a person with gastroparesis that struggles with weight loss… I have severe Crohn's disease and before I started treatment, I had an extremely difficult time keeping weight on. I was significantly underweight. Chances are you're eating more calories than you think you are. Do you weigh your food using a food…

Weight loss isn't a race. Although, slow and steady wins every time.

You said you measure everything you eat. That's the problem. You need to use a food scale and weigh all solid foods.

Do you use a food scale and weigh everything you eat?

I have hyperinsulinemia, hypoglycemia, insulin resistance, and PCOS. I'm supposed to eat a low-carb diet. However, I have found it extremely difficult to do. What's more important for individuals with metabolic conditions is the type of carbohydrates we consume. For us, eating 175 grams of carbs from lentils, beans, fruit,…
