CICO is the only way to lose weight; no matter what kind of "diet" one follows… high carb, low carb, high protein, moderate protein, low fat, high fat, Mediterranean, Paleo, Keto, blah blah blah.

First, Wikipedia is not a reputable source of information. Second, only individuals with metabolic conditions use insulin inefficiently. In a healthy person, insulin is of no concern and does more good for their body than harm.

If you are vegan now, you should be on a number of supplements. You are most likely low in iron and B12.

Lexapro is actually one of the more common SSRIs linked to weight gain. I gained 111 lbs on Lexapro. I went from 95 lbs to 208 lbs in less than 3 years.

Shakes don't magically make you lose weight. Weight loss comes from a calorie deficit.

38E here. Panache and Shock Absorber will be your best friends.

Makes me gag.

It sounds like orthostatic hypotension since it happens when you stand up quickly. However, it could be a number of other things… low blood sugar, dehydration, and certain cardiac conditions. You should always call your doctor when experiencing dizziness and almost fainting.

Not saying where I live because stalkers ;) I work closely with legislators on the national, regional, and local levels; working to pass policies and laws regarding reproductive rights.

@RadRac01 No it doesn't. Two plain rice cakes have 14 grams of carbs. She is allowed to have 18 grams of carbs per snack. And 30 grams of carbs per meal. 50 grams of blueberries have 7 grams of carbs and 50 grams of strawberries have 3 g. None of my suggestions go over 18 or 30 grams :)

I have hyperinsulinemia (high insulin levels) which causes chronic hypoglycemia. Here are some suggestions: Breakfast: 3 egg omelette with onion, broccoli, mushrooms, and cheddar cheese Snack: 1 oz macadamia nuts Lunch: 5-6 oz lean meat, 4 slices pre-cut cheddar cheese, blueberries, strawberries, asparagus Snack: PB2 on 2…

3 egg omelette with ham, mushrooms, broccoli, diced tomatoes, and whatever other veggies you like. Maybe pair it with a side of bacon and fresh fruit.

Agreed. I have Crohn's disease and can assure you that simply having a 'stomach that sticks out' is not nearly enough reason to perform a colonoscopy, let alone a biopsy. It isn't needed and would be a waste of money and medical supplies.

Trust me, the person posting the offensive comments is the one punished; not the person who tells the offender that they are reporting them :) Also, I'm so glad you finally took the time to read the community guidelines. It only took how long…

If you are recovering from an ED, you need to get off of this site. I'm sure your therapist would not approve of you being on a calorie counting website; as it is not part of treatment and can actually trigger unhealthy thoughts/behaviors. You are at a perfectly healthy weight. You think you look huge and your 'belly…

I'm not quite sure either but it definitely should be. As will I for mine! *laughs*

Gale, I see you still haven't learned what a peer-reviewed study is. Stick with impersonating 'Gale Hawkins the CEO' instead of research and nutrition.

I agree. It's comical. Little do they know that abusing the flagging system can result in being banned from the forums. ;)

Hypoglycemia Hyperinsulinemia Insulin resistance/metabolic syndrome Diabetes Shall I go on? ETA: These conditions do not REQUIRE low carb but help significantly.

Someone is full of opinions tonight… @ihatetodietalways
-
If you eat in a calorie deficit, no, it will not 'mess you up.'
-
@ihatetodietalways Oh my word. The only people who have to be worried about sugar are those with diabetes, hypoglycemia, hyperinsulinemia, insulin resistance, etc. What you are failing to realize is that a MAJORITY of people do not have those conditions. People with a normal functioning pancreas do not overproduce insulin.…

This might be the most ignorant thing I've heard.

Buy in bulk Shop at Aldi's, Ocean State Job Lot, or Price Rite Buy frozen veggies (cheaper than fresh… unless in season) Buy frozen meat (cheaper than fresh) Get another job

+1 OP: Do not listen to @TimothyFish.

Sorry Gale, but you cannot and do not speak for a majority of the population. You can only speak for yourself.
-
@duhneece Just because you are perimenopausal and have PCOS doesn't mean you defy science. You lose weight the same way the average Joe does- a calorie deficit.
-
This is exactly why doctors need to stress the importance of being at a healthy weight BEFORE getting pregnant.
-
I think you need to see an endocrinologist.
