@mirrim52 I hate to tell you this but her behavior is still mimicking that of an ED. Anorexics in recovery are NEVER advised to lose weight, even in a healthy fashion. While they may be at a healthy weight, unhealthy thoughts still come to mind when restricting calories.

Topiramate (Topamax) is an anti-epileptic.
-
May I ask why your username is anorexicdiary? I think you need to get off MFP and speak with a mental health professional.
-
Honestly, you should have come here way more than two months before your wedding. Two months isn't much time.

Bullying and harassment is. Go to HR.

She didn't ask for advice from you. She asked to hear from people who have had WLS. You don't fit that category.
-
Yes, how about you take your own advice and act like an adult. Telling someone you can't wish them luck because you are 'not fond of VLC and WLS' isn't very adult-like. I hate to burst your bubble, but this woman has every right to make the choice to get WLS. It is her body; not yours. You don't get to tell people what to…

Bananas, honey, and milk all have sugar. Bananas are pretty high in carbs/sugar. Unless you have an endocrine disease like diabetes, insulin resistance, or hypoglycemia, there's no reason to fret if you go over your sugar goal.

Makeup isn't 'asking for a pedophile to abduct' a child. Elementary age girls love playing dress up and pretending to be princesses, all while applying lipstick and eyeshadow. I don't see anything wrong with that. However, it isn't appropriate for them to go to school or out in public with makeup on. If one of my students…

And honey, it certainly doesn't prove there is a link. Right on the American Diabetes Associations website: "Myth: Eating too much sugar causes diabetes." It is not as simple as eating too much sugar. Diabetes is multifactorial, caused by genetics and a number of lifestyle choices. Based on the stuff you spew in the…

"In our large cohort of 38,480 initially healthy postmenopausal women followed for an average of 6 years, we accrued 918 incident cases of type 2 diabetes and found no definitive influence of sugar intake on the risk of developing type 2 diabetes." @Akimajuktuq @whmscll Sugar consumption has no correlation with type 1 diabetes. As far as type 2 goes, studies show that sugar intake does not play a role in the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

I'm curious as to why you consume 1/4-1/2 cup of syrup with cereal… To be honest, if you continue to eat the way you have been, you are going to end up extremely malnourished (if you aren't already). I don't see any vegetables in your food diary. That's an issue. You are an adult. Please feed your body like you care about…

Based on your food diary, you don't use a food scale to weigh your food. That's your problem. Chances are you are eating much more than you think which is why you aren't losing weight. Also, 1000 calories is not enough. You need to eat 1200 calories MINIMUM.
-
That is not true. If your body stopped losing weight because it is in 'starvation mode', people in underdeveloped countries wouldn't be significantly underweight.

Pairing fruit with or without protein is purely personal preference. However, it is recommended to those with diabetes, insulin resistance, hypoglycemia, and other metabolic disorders to always eat carbs with protein. If you do not have a metabolic disorder, there's no reason for you to do so unless you want to. Carbs pre…

Please don't tell people what to do. Also, there's no science that backs up the claim 'eating a bigger breakfast results in greater weight loss.' In fact, many people here have lost a significant amount of weight without eating breakfast.

See a registered dietitian, not a nutritionist.
-
Let me guess… the doctor is a naturopath, not an MD. I have Crohn's disease and salt water flushes are NEVER recommended to people with diseases/conditions involving the GI system.
-
Diet pills don't work. But a good ole calorie deficit does!
-
Using a food scale is necessary for most people. Otherwise, you have no clue how many calories you are eating. I use a Cuisinart scale and love it.

I work in the medical field. I can assure you that any reputable bariatric surgeon would NEVER in a million years perform WLS on a patient who is 50 pounds overweight (unless they have serious life-threatening medical conditions). It is also not performed just because you have hypertension. There are multiple requirements…

Because: 1) It would not have the same effect on each person. 2) The same dangerous side effects still apply to adults. 3) It is a waste of money. 4) It is time consuming. 5) Providing them with actual food is effective.
-
If this were true, we wouldn't have millions of people in underdeveloped countries who are significantly underweight.
-
We were specifically talking about children, in case you missed that memo. I work and do research in the field of public health; I'm well aware that children aren't the only ones starving.

My situation and OP's is entirely different. I was weighing my food and logging daily. I knew EXACTLY how many calories I was consuming. OP doesn't do either and doesn't know how many calories she is consuming. She is roughly estimating and is clearly way off base. She also said she drinks most of her calories which leads…

Most of those sources are out-of-date.

Well, since you were eating more and moving less, it was your fault..

No where did anyone say without having to eat food.
