linbee - Awww....I cry at the drop of a hat, so I understand how emotional and wonderful it had to be for you to get through the entire 20 minutes! HUGS!! And there's nothing wrong with the "Biggest Loser week timetable"! (For those of you who may have missed the comment - on the Biggest Loser, a "week" isn't necessarily 7…

I love it....since you nixed the Jenny's Joggers suggestion! Wimps to warriors.....or W2W when abbreviated! I say let's go with it! :drinker: Jenny - don't take any chances that you could fall and get hurt.....there's always tomorrow! chi88 - I think it's SMART to take a step back if that's what you need to do. I do…

28 minute jog is DONE.....wow what a burn! I had to slow it down to make it but still burned 590 calories! This is tough guys, but we are just TOUGH ENOUGH to get it done! :drinker: How is everyone else doing? I kind of like the name "Dream Team" by the way.....or maybe we could just be "Jenny's Joggers" since she started…

Wellllll.....I did my 25 minute run yesterday afternoon. For me, it ended up being a lot tougher than I had expected it to be.....but that was probably because hubby & I went out Friday night and overindulged! So.....I wasn't feeling 100% on Saturday, but decided that I just had to do it anyway! And I did.....but I am now…

Last night for a snack I ate about 8 cherry tomatoes....and they were just SO DARNED GOOD....fresh out of the garden! YUM!
-
Shannon - Love them ALL!

arielthebeautiful - I typically run first thing in the morning before I eat.....or in the evening before I eat. If I'm famished in the morning, I may eat a couple of bites of banana or drink a little almond milk....but no more than that. What has worked for me is to consciously think about breathing out (I do a mental…

My husband & I ate there during our vacation in FL a few months ago....we split a meal, so it wasn't a complete & utter disaster. I managed a lot of walks and swimming and even came home a pound lighter one week later! So....it can be done....and it doesn't HAVE to ruin the day. But then again....for us eating out is a…

Shannon - HIP HIP HOORAY FOR YOU! You have every right to feel extremely proud. Definitely invest in a good pair of shoes....it can make a huge difference! Several of you have inspired me to give yoga a try! I heard that someone in our little town is going to be offering a yoga class. I REALLY HOPE it's true,…

You can definitely do it! You will be AMAZED, and feel so great after you get past the 3 minute challenge next week! :smokin:
-
I agree with Jenny - the calorie goal is just a basic guidline, and each of us has to play around a bit to figure out what works for us. I think the calories set by MFP for me was around 1360. That's NET Calories for me. After a very long plateau I bumped mine up to 1500. So on a day like yesterday when I burned over 500…

I decided to do Week 6, Day 2 tonight instead of tomorrow morning, because I need to be to work early tomorrow.....and I needed to exercise to burn some cals! Part way into the first 10 minute jog I was thinking I may have made a terrible mistake.....my legs felt really tight. So during the 3 minute walking…

Definitely do not hurt yourself.......take it easy and listen to your poor aching body! That is awesome that you have "officially" entered a 5K! Good for YOU! :drinker:
-
Shannon - I try to do circut training or strength training on Tuesdays & Thursdays. I don't even attempt it on days I'm doing C25K! Can't wait to hear how the 40 minute run went! Well ladies - Week 6, Day 1 is DONE. And I must say that I had a similar experience as Rachel during the last jogging interval. I was literally…

You absolutely CAN do it! :drinker:
-
Rachel - Getting through week 5 really DOES change your mindset! We've all testified to THAT! :drinker: I know I'm getting ahead of myself a little bit.....but because my pace is so slow, I have decided that I am not going to stop at the end of the C25K until I know that I really can do a 5K without stopping. At my current…

Good for YOU! You will be AMAZED at the progress you make if you just keep putting one foot in front of the other! If this ole gal can do it, you can too! You said runing three minutes wasn't as bad as you thought it would be.....well today I discovered that running 20 minutes wasn't as bad as I thought it would be…

Congratulations on your success! You look FABULOUS!
-
Rachel - HIGH FIVE!!! And I see you're another OVER ACHIEVER...running 23 minutes instead of "just" 20! Tomorrow is scheduled to be "the 20 minute day" for me! I plan on running exactly 20 minutes...and not a minute more!
-
PS to linbee - congrats on getting to 200! Onederland here you come! That is a HUGE accomplishment!
-
linbee - WAY TO GO! Soooooo happy for you! Sounds like you have figured out what works for you, so I have no doubt you'll still feel like superwoman after Day 2 and 8 minutes too! Shannon - I am using a treadmill because I need to get it out of the way early in the morning, and don't care to run/walk outside when it's not…

Week 5, Day 2 is DONE! I actually felt really good during the first 8 minutes.....the 2nd 8 minutes was a little tougher, but I guess that's to be expected, right? My avg was 130 bpm, my peak was 179 bpm. Peaking at the HRM throughout is really pretty interesting.....while I was jogging my heart rate quite quickly…
-
Shannon - you are ahead of me if you've upped your running to 30 minutes! And it sounds to me like you're doing GREAT! But, I think the answer to your question is pretty straight forward.....just slow your pace a little bit if necessary. You want to find a pace (whatever it is) that will allow you to get the entire 30…
-
Jenny - you are the ONLY person I know who would run more after you finished the C25K workout! You are an inspiration.....although I have NO INTENTION of doing the same......but kudos to you! I am actually kind of looking forward to the challenge of 8 minutes tomorrow, and then 20 minutes on Friday. I am convinced…

I think that's called a "good problem to have"!
-
Ddiva - now you're making me BLUSH!:blushing: Rachel - I will be waiting to hear how you KILLED the 20 minute jog! Just stay away from the HILLS girl! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! :drinker:

I couldn't have said it better myself! This is where I'm at.....in it for the long haul....no matter how long it takes! I'm learning as I go. I finally just broke through an almost 2 month plateau....but during that 2 months I lost 6 inches! For me (finally), it's not just about a number on the scale. It's about a…

I use plain greek yogurt as a substitiute for sour cream. Otherwise I like to add honey to sweeten it....with or without fruit.
-
YES, Ddiva - it DOES get better! I loved your description......it brought back memories!

Well.....I just jumped into Week 5. Day 1 is done. I only did 2 days at week 4....then felt a cold coming on and skipped the 3rd day. I thought about doing it this morning, but amazingly felt really good so I decided to just skip ahead. But I DID slow my pace a little bit today......not that it was wasn't pretty slow…
