Yay - I got the banner to show up! Thanks for the explanation! I LOVE IT! I did manage to do some jogging this morning.....but the heel's still bothering me so I had to take a few breaks and walk a ways. I managed 30 minutes total. Unfortunately I feel like I've been hit over the head with a "tired stick"......I'm getting…

Silk brand is 35 cals, Blue Diamond brand is 40 measly little calories. We much prefer the unsweetened version. If I can't find that, then I get the unsweetened vanilla almond milk - which is just a few more cals (5-10 if I remember correctly.)
-
Have you tried the unsweetened almond milk Jenny? My husband & I both LOVE IT - especially on our "oatmeal" (steel cut oats, multi-grain cereal, etc.)
-
Rachel - YOU DID IT!!!! That is AWESOME! And a FANTASTIC TIME to boot! :drinker:

I don't know WHAT I did, but my right heel is killing me....just to walk on it. Somehow I think I managed to bruise it. Sooooo....this morning I pulled out my Yoga video and did that instead of running. It actually felt really good to stretch....but this is my first attempt at yoga, so it was pretty laughable!…

Jenny - I actually really like a mixture of balsamic vinegar & a little olive oil on my salad.....no salt & no sugar! Stevia is also a good sugar alternative. I bought some liquid stevia on-line (chocolate raspberry flavored!) that I put in my smoothies...oatmeal.....yogurt. Pretty much anything! It sounds like a great…

LOVE IT! May be time for some new scrubs huh?
-
Shannon - So, the last ten minutes was a killer and your time suffered.........but you still DID IT! :drinker: Everything I've read says that when you're a beginning runner, you need to just forget about the time and concentrate on endurance. And you're building amazing endurance to be able to go for 40 minutes! If you…

Rachel (and anyone else with a race in their future) - I found this thread with a lot of really good info - Running tips for first time racers! I just had to share! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/279198-running-tip-so-you-are-about-to-do-your-first-race

I put on my "favorite" sweater this morning.....and promptly took it off because it was so big and baggy on me. Time to shop for a new "favorite", in a smaller size!
-
Shannon - A foot rub sounds heavenly.....and well deserved after a 40 minute jog! Jenny - I agree that there is definitely something very satisfying about running. But SHEESH - 44 minutes! :noway: And you're nursing a cold! That is amazing....and YOU ARE AMAZING! :drinker: Now the "mom" in me HAS to tell you to not overdo…

The remark definitely seemed inappropriate.....BUT....the bottom line is that your legs look GREAT! Take it as a compliment....and avoid him at the gym in future!

Bump!

To me moderation at events like that means deciding what is REALLY truly worth a splurge. If it's a fried oreo, then have ONE, or maybe just a bite of one. It does NOT mean that after you've eaten one that you throw in the towel, assume you just "ruined the whole day", therefore provide yourself with an excuse to eat 10 of…

Rachel - Being nervous about your upcoming 5K is absolutely normal. I've only done one in my life - 7 years ago - and I was a nervous wreck, and it was a VERY SMALL 5K, in a tiny little town, with very few participants! You have already proven to yourself that you CAN jog that distance. So please try NOT to worry about…

Good for you! That is AWESOME!

202 divided by 2 is 101 ounces of water. Divide 101 by 8 to figure out how many 8 oz glasses of water to drink, and you get 12.625 glasses. An 8 oz glass of water SOUNDS like a lot...but really.....get out a measuring cup.....8 oz really isn't that much. And you certainly don't drink it at one sitting.....just drink it…

Rachel - WOW - look at YOU! Did you every imagine THINKING, much less ever SAYING "I'm going to do a light run (probably JUST 2 miles)"???? It is IMPOSSIBLE for you to "embarrass" yourself..........so you just get THAT thought right out of your head! You are an amazing woman and a true W2W! :drinker:
-
Shannon - Good for YOU! You have every reason to be very proud!
-
I can see that my fellow W2W's are doing AWESOME! I was gone this past weekend...girl's weekend away at the Mississippi river. We had a GREAT time. But it was a bit like a slumber party....stayed up last talking and laughing.....and unfortunately, the bed was miserably uncomfortable, so I didn't sleep well at all. My…

The 1200 calories is based on what you set as a weight loss goal - how many pounds per week. MFP won't allow you to go under 1200 NET calories per day. So if you burn 500 calories in exercise, you would EAT 1700 calories that day (1700 - 500 = 1200 net cals).

Jenny - I'm not ready to "reveal" the body fat % yet. :embarassed: I still have a long way to go to get to a healthy number! But I can tell you that it's down about 4.5% from a few months ago when I started the 30DS. I have no idea what it was when I first started MFP! When my chiropractor offered to do that for…
-
That is so awesome! And inspiring. Congrats!
-
I can't believe it....week 7 is finished! WOW! Today was much better than Wednesday evening. I burned 463 cals, which is still a lot, but less than prior days, so I take that to mean I truly am getting more fit. YAY!!! I'm still slow, but frankly, I really don't care! Yesterday I went to the chiropractor. I've seen the…

^^^ I agree 100%

Jenny - Only YOU could down chocolate chip cookies and then have your best performance! Maybe the cookie monster was chasing you! :noway:  :drinker: I hope you're right about the reason I really struggled last night.....time will tell!
-
W7D2 is DONE! Hallelujah! I don't know if it was the time of day, frame of mind or a little of both, but I really struggled tonight. I did it....but WOW! I may be repeating this week! We'll see what happens Friday! Oh, and I'm also excited because I ordered a yoga DVD from amazon last night! Can't wait to try it on my "off…

I bought mine at a WalMart. It was over by the exercise stuff.
-
This would probably be a good question to post to the forum to get responses from more experienced runners. I intend to hit the treadmill, or maybe the road when I get home from work today. I didn't sleep well last night...until it was time to get up of course! Happy jogging W2W's! Brenda - aka MOM!

After reading through all the recent comments, I am convinced the name "Wimps to Warriors" is VERY FITTING indeed! WTG everyone! Rachel - How cool is it that you feel like you're "officially a runner now".....yes you definitely ARE! So you're a "nose breather" huh? I'm sure you look way cooler than me....cuz my mouth is…
