  • Hello my fellow turtles! I seem to have a case of stomach flu today....woke up in the middle of the night feeling awful. I feel slightly less awful at the moment....but I will be laying low today. However, since we are all moving so SLOWLY weight-wise.....I thought it would be fun and inspiring to hear about some NSV's..…
  • Yep....more veggies. And I love to dip them in HUMUS! Yummy.....
  • I LOVE THIS by the way!
  • I suggest you read this thread - it has a lot of really good basic information that may help you. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/196502-for-the-people-who-work-out-like-crazy-and-are-not-losing
  • I KNEW I wasn't alone! I love it! Any and all are welcome to the group. Yeah - GO TURTLES GO!!!! Or maybe we should call ourselves the NINJA TURTLES....defeating fat everywhere we go! HIIII YAH!!!!
  • I do not think it would be POSSIBLE for me to drink more than a liter of water in an hour! And I'm far from a marathon runner. I drink 10-12 cups per day (occasionally more)...spread throughout the day....and I'm eating my food. I'm safe! And like so many others have said - listen to your body folks.
  • I read an artical that said - A lethal amount of water in a full grown human is about 100 oz at once, give or take. The "AT ONCE" is an important statement. Spread your water intake out over the day, and it would never be lethal. I personally am not going to take the risk of getting dehydrated! I do not believe that…
  • If you read carefully, it says: 'The current evidence is that there really is no evidence' to support the idea that water helps people to lose weight by suppressing their appetite. MY COMMENT - I DONT EXPECT IT TO "SUPPRESS" MY APPETITE! We've also been told that drinking water is good for flushing out bacteria from our…
  • j - losing 5 in July will be extremely difficult when you're so close to your goal. Everything I've read on here says that for the last 10 you should set your profile and shoot to lose 1/2 pound a week. BUT YOU ARE GETTING AMAZING RESULTS FROM THIS WORK OUT! You should give yourself a HUGE pat on the back! As for…
  • That's good toadie! Love those 5-year old comments! He has a good role-model in his mommy!
  • Day 15 is complete....and I am half-way through the Shred! :noway: I am quite sure I would have given up before now without this thread. Thanks for starting it toadie!
  • Hubby wanted to ride bikes early this morning before it got TOO sweltering hot. I couldn't say no to THAT! So, I'll be doing the shred later today. I need some breakfast and a little break first! Keep it up guys!
  • Strawberries or apples....celery with a little peanut butter or hummus.....baby carrots.
  • Amazing difference! Keep up the great work!
  • Here's my whine for the day - I truly detest the "v-raise" thing! Raise the weights to eye level? Well, maybe the first few Jilian you torture monster! I made it through them today.....modified....but I did NOT take a break so that is progress. In fact I didn't take a break through any of it, which is a first!…
  • Here's the thread with some crock pot recipies. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/236900-steel-cut-oats-in-crockpot?hl=steel+cut+oats+crock+pot&page=1#posts-3127686 As for WHY they are better than regular Quaker Oats...it's probably simply a matter of more fiber because they are less processed.
  • Quite some time ago someone posted some recipies to make them in a crock pot, so it's ready to go when you wake up in the morning. I haven't tried it yet....but one of these days..........
  • Steel cut are a completely different texture....a lot "chewier"! Uncooked they look like little tiny pebbles instead of a flattened out flake of oats.
  • I really like them, but haven't had them for a while, so thanks for the reminder. They do take quite a while to cook, so when I make them, I make enough for 2 breakfasts....eat one serving, refrigerate the rest and heat up the following day! I stir some greek yogurt and fruit in with mine....or some protein powder.
  • I started 30DS 13 days ago....I tried it because my weight loss had stalled.....and I've gained 2 lbs. I always eat my exercise cals back too by the way. So this is week 4 of no lose....2 lb gain instead! This week I started zig-zagging my calories to see if that would make the scale move again.....so if you look at…
  • J - you and I are NOT the only ones who have experienced the DVD aggravation. Someone posted the following on another thread: I found that if I stop the DVD just before the level ends, and turn the dvd player off, that when I go to play it the next day, it will start back up at the very end of level. Then I can just select…
  • SPECTACULAR! Congrats to you- it is definitely a BIG NSV!
  • That is a HUGE deal! Hip hip hooray for you!
  • I've been wavering between 187 and 190 for the past 4 weeks. I started the 30 Day Shred 12 days ago to change up my exercise routine and get the weight moving. It hasn't yet, but I AM losing inches and my husband commented out of the blue last night that I look more muscular. So this week I started zig-zagging my…
  • I was at my sisters house and she bought some hummus that was cucumber/dill flavored. I thought about trying to make something similar for a change of pace too.
  • I love black beans - thanks for the suggestion - I will definitely try this!
  • You guys crack me up! J - I've had the same issue with my dvd.....but I THINK I have it figured out (my fingers are crossed now).....it seems that if I hit STOP on the DVD, before shutting it off, then when I turn in back on the next time I'm back to the begging of the workout where you select the Level. Or maybe I've just…
  • gd - definitely invest in an HRM! The squat and v raise thingies are a KILLER! And the very last ab exercise (can't remember what it's called) is so much harder than it looks......or maybe it just seems like a killer because it's more of the plank position! J - Good for YOU! I love your attitude - "i can do anything for 20…
