I'm 5 foot 7 and I've got 140 pencilled in. That makes me right in the middle of a healthy BMI so that was my original goal. However...I want to do the Warrior Dash so will need a bit more strength, muscle weighs more so I'll see how I go. I definitely don't want to be lugging any unnecessary fat around that course, but…

Hello! Portsmouth here, add me if you'd like. Sorry if anyone else has posted, haven't read the whole thread yet but here's a couple of UK groups too: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/84-british-people http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/150-team-uk (I love Team UK, great people :-) )

I like this - an MFP friend shared with me a few weeks ago - http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-238-267--12989-0,00.html

Your photo is my arch nemesis ;-)

Live and let live for me, except for turbo perving, and no flirting whilst standing on treadmill doing nothing for 20 minutes please ;-) We're always going to be someone else's idiot :-)
-
Good point! I am using them as a pacer for the Warrior Dash and to show myself I can do them ;-) If I come across any advertised in my mags over your neck of the woods I'll let you know :-)
-
Really sad, RIP xx
-
I'm with you only much slower, with much less distance and a thin scarf over my mouth ;-) So, you could say 50% with you! Haha
-
Definitely. It's not counted against me (as far as I've known) but there is one particular large area of our company where I'd say there are no women over a UK size 12, regardless of their age.

Occasionally we've used each others and both are too lazy to change them afterwards. I don't bother going on his sites and I assume he wouldn't bother with mine (if he can't be bothered to look on his own facebook I can't see he'd go in mine!)

Further reading if you're interested - http://www.c-r-y.org.uk/medical_conditions.htm I'm not going to do myself as much damage plodding around the park a few times a week as I was driving 100's of miles a week eating cake for lunch and dinner - so ignorance is bliss for me :-) Did have a full check up at my heaviest and…

Have you tried the Parkruns site Russell, they are free too :-) http://www.parkrun.org.uk/

I logged 350 cals when I did it - one of my MFP friends suggested 350 which she logs for herself. I think it depends on the weight and speed of reps/weight of person doing the exercise too, best bet is to wear an HRM in the future if you have one?

Lol love it. I'm super slow too and I'm not bothered. Super slow is better than injured in my mind, I do as much as I can and that does me. I'm probably 5-5 1/2 and that does me for the time being.
-
I love it, but do worry a bit about the caffeine (along with my black coffee addiction ;-)) perhaps I should wash down a calcium tablet with it to counter the effects ;-) lol

Bump to view the link tomorrow on iPod now. Got to seriously start strength training, thanks for posting :-)

Exactly. Their life, their diary. If asked, I'll always give my advice but otherwise, nothing to do with anyone except for that person. The sad truth is that when my diary was commented on, in quite a rude way, they hadn't taken into account my spike day by reading up the other days. I quite rightly got offended and…

No tummy trouble at all for me now I've lost weight and changed my diet. I'm aslo finding that once a month I really need about 100 cals a day more for about three days, so allowing myself that, other than that no not really :-)
-
Yup, used to be a Auxilliary on a heart and lung ward - low heart rates applauded by the Consultants and SHO's - decent fitness level and a low sodium diet not exactly a bad thing! Great idea on pre-logging and beating what you've logged, I'm going to have a go next week. My particular 'weakness' is strength training, I…

I've got an ancient (I was told yesterday, over 10 years old!) Polar that's served me pretty well. Twice in the past few months I've contacted their customer support, both times I received a response by the end of the day which is a bit of a rarity these days :-) I kind of looking (it'll be after Christmas) at replacing…
-
Definitely agree! Like it. 1,200 working fine for me on a rest day, eating back most of my exercise calories or saving for a spike otherwise. That's just me.
-
I should say also - this is a no frills (I don't need frills) gym - but the downside is no pool, which I would like but I'm on a budget and you can't have it all :-) £19.99 per month without 12 month commitment.
-
Not sure what country you're in so not sure if this is useful, but £17.95 for a year, 24/7 including classes. Corporate meant that I saved the admin fee, but if you work for a large company you may get a decent corporate membership, always worth telling them where else you've looked and your budget I find...

At the beach with my boyfriend and his Mum when I was 15, no skin revealed to him (or obviously her!) prior to this moment. Borrowed friends new flashy bikini to look my best, and was leaping around doing my best Baywatch leaping through the waves (it was the 80's), with them waving to me from the shore. I waved back for a…

I know - I'd like to put him into retirement really - he's done good service :-)
-
Worth a mention that some HRMs don't count cals until the HR goes over 90 - my old Polar S210 for example. Machines count regardless as would MFP.
-
Brilliant! Good excuse for a G&T too :-)
-
Hold onto your petticoats Frankie - I'll be having TWO DAYS OFF!!!! Oh, the shame!!
-
^^Yup that's what I'm talking about - firm boobies etc in that dress! I'd check out Youtube - but the good old press up is a good start, along with the pec deck and lateral pull down (if you've got access to a gym) burpees, anything to keep it all firm while the cardio does its work :-)
