  • I read that setting the incline to 1% is closer to outside conditions. I do run outsidfe AND I have a treadmill. I mostly use the treadmill in the winter. I'm NOT trying to run with the snowplows! I find something good on TV, or rent a movie, and hop on. Walking, running, hills, intervals...whatever I feel like doing. I…
  • Ahahahahahaha!!!! I get that during kickboxing! There are a lot of 'pickers' in class
  • Exercise is my stress reliever! I get really grumpy and depressed and my patience level goes to ZERO if I go 3-4 days without some sort of serious sweat inducing exercise
  • You're here, and that's what counts. You want to change, you're HERE:happy: I've felt ike quitting lots of times. I've cried because I've been so frustrated at my lack of results. I get a new wave of willpower and motivation, eat right and exercise and anxiously wait for the glorious results. Um...yeah. That doesn't work.…
  • Bump!! I just asked a similiar question. I'll have to read your responses later tonight
  • Thanks everyone for ALL your advice. I see where I need to make some changes. Yeah, our KB instructor is VERY high energy and she mixes up everything into her workouts. Every workout is different. Sometimes we have partner pad work, sometimes use weights. Cardio wise, I think I'm OK. My HR can get quite high,…
  • Sorry to keep asking questions...the heavy legs. Under recovery? Too much with no breaks? The only days I take a break are on the weekends. I think my activity level is moderate. Monday AM-Kickboxing-1 hour, Monday night- strength with a little cardio Tuesday AM-Karate-1 hour Wednesday night-Muay Thai- 1 hour Thursday…
  • Thanks everyone for all your help!!! I have NROLFW, and I'm following those exercises. Not exactly, but it's a guide. My hamstrings and calves are definitely getting some attention! The cardio I currently do 4x/week seems to help when I run, but my legs feel so heavy. Yes, I need to run to get better at running. Right now,…
  • LMBO!!! I'm doing the Warrior Run April 27th. I have an old pair that are getting demoted to yard sneakers, so I'm using those. As for the free beer...depends on how much mud I eat during the race  AND....I'm doing the Color Me Rad run May 4th. Luckily, I have black sneakers. One muddy race, one colorful race. Both…
  • I can relate to much of your post!!!!! I"m doing The Warrior Run end of April. We run up a skiing hill, and there's obstacles! Then, the following week, I'm doing Color Me Rad. LOL...and I always used to HATE running. It's still not my favorite, but I am getting faster:bigsmile: Sometimes I feel like giving up, but I never…
  • I"m 43 and more active now than ever before  I"m doing 2 races, both 5K's, so far this year. April 27, then May 4. There's two more I might do, too, just because:tongue: LOL...I don't really like to run! I workout 4x/week- kickbox 2x, karate 1x and Muay Thai class 1x. Plus, extra exercise Mon and Thurs nights while…
  • Lots of water and Arnica spray seems to help me. The spray also helps if you have any bruising. I spray it on my shins after working on leg blocks in muay thai :-) It does help reduce the bruising and pain.
  • I used to have them lots of nights when i was in college. I'd cook them with the seasoning, then drain after cooking. It was always too salty for me. Sounds like there's a lot of good suggestions here. Sorry, I don't really have any new recipes to add. I did find noodles, I think China Bowl is the brand. They're just like…
  • After falling off several times myself, I've installed seatbeats on my wagon  Seatbelts and very big bumpers when my wagon starts going off course. Oh, air bags, too, when the road gets SO very bumpy  I might slow down, but I don't fall off anymore!!
  • Stop drinking all soda and beer. I notice Im more bloated after I drink soda. Drink lots of water.
  • Drink TONS of water. That, and some pain reliever, really does help. Drink an extra 2-4 glasses, at least. I didn't believe it, then tried it, and it does help, a LOT!!
  • I just scanned through it. LOL...it LOOKS doable  All the moves are familiar to me. However, looks can be deceiving, and in this case, probably ARE!! I might have to try it! Thanks
  • Good for you! Always nice to know someone has noticed your hard work
  • I have an Enell Bra. The girls do NOT move!! It is a little pricey, but they're worth it ;-) I was around a 36-38C/D when I got it. I was borderline with the size, and I sized down. I have other sports bras, and I use them for karate, kickboxing. I haven't found one that keeps me in place like the Enell when I'm running.…
  • LMBO!!!!! I've done that, and then keep changing how many servings to get the calorie count down enough:bigsmile: Sometimes, those servings are pretty darn small!!!!
  • Hi! My name is Deidre and I'm a serial baker. That's the first step, right?? My Kitchen Aid and Cusinart are my friends  I LOVE to bake. And I have felt the pain from piping a wedding cake, or covering a princess castle cake with dots so it can look like stone! How about kneading bread by........hand…
  • I do pushups with one knee on the ground and the other leg straight back, off the floor. LOL...I have a toe that was jammed when i did a front kick incorrectly, and not it doesn't like to bend at that angle. SOOO, I modify! Proper form is so important however you choose to do them. Don't arch your back, raise or dip your…

  • LOL...I have NO idea how old I look to other people. I don't think I look 43. Certainly don't feel 43. Age is a state of…
