  • Ive only ever lost it with body recomp - ie less fat and more muscle. Its all about the thickness of fat under the skin. Ive got bad genes for it I'm afraid. Im 5'7 and 120 pounds, 19%bf and need to loose about 5lbs for the dimples to shrink. :(
  • One way to get the goodies is to make fresh squeezed fruit and veg juices at home with a juicer(mostly veg though as fruit is high in sugar). A glass of this is a huge vitamin and mineral hit that is absorbed instantly. You could try this for a few weeks and see if this makes any difference.
  • ^^^ this Vitamin and mineral deficiencies can cause increased cravings so that the body has a chance to replenish, also can cause poor impulse control. If you eat nutrient dense foods you might find the cravings decrease. It has been found that people consume more calories of nutritionally void food (junk, rice, white…
  • If it makes you feel any better loosing 1-2 lbs. means that you lost 3500-7000 calories! Your binging probably wasn't as high as that so you haven't lost all your progress!!! You're doing very well, it takes time to learn the lessons of dieting, and it is very much a mind game. Your binge might have also happened because…
  • ^^^^ this is spot on
  • http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ this is the calculator. When Im eating back the calories Im still under my total expenditure by 300 cals every day. There have been studies that having higher than 300 - 500 cal deficit every day leads into metabolic slowing as the body goes into starvation mode.
  • Im also new to MFP and have the same calorie goal. MFP actually set 1200 cal as my limit according to my goal but this is too low for the TDEE 20% formula that is unhealthy to go under for my weight and height. I reset the goal manually to 1350 according to the TDEE 20% calculation. I eat back the calories I burn off with…
  • I had thigh gap after three weeks of not keeping my food down and living of mandarins and crackers. I was sick in India... great holiday. Anyway my body took protein from my thigh muscles (which weren't big to start with). So yea, muscle wasting.... I mean thigh gap oops
  • Google freelee before and after - she was a little plump, not big, but not your naturally skinny person either. Essentially the calories in and out is always true! at least there is some certainty out there in this crazy world of dieting.
  • On her website ( I think) she talked about how daily 30km bike rides and extra activity on top of that was normal, no, necessary for her. They also rave on that you must consume at least 3000cal and then work of excess in excercise or ELSE!!!
  • The fact he's holding a banana, magic:laugh:
  • No you're definatelly NOT alone! :D
  • I'm getting way to worked up, sorry peeps. I
  • yep, I see what you mean the unfortunate thing is this particular girl has made videos of very deliberately flaunting her physical body to make dietary and health points, its actually extremelly irresponsible. I wouldn't care, but Ive seen how she has responded to other girls on her forum for voicing their genuine concerns…
  • fructose is metabolized through the liver so it doesn't have the immediate sugar spike effect glucose and sucrose does. I used to be pre-diabetic so I know the feeling of the lows and highs - this fruit diet when I did it made my blood sugar very stable. Im not advocating it though!
  • *deep breath* rant over!!
  • Im honestly serious about the psychiatric issues. So many nutritional deficiencies and excesses cause neurological/hormonal/metabolic derrangements.... I began studying nutrition at a university level last year and almost laugh now that I ever considered the 80/10/10 raw vegan lifestyle. Is it possible some people can do…
  • Her and her partner are both fanatical and paranoid. It almost seems like their diet is giving them psychiatric issues, or perhaps they had them before the diet. Her condescending manner has gotten worse over the years. Many actually say they are at a centre of what is essentially a destructive cult. She may have a great…
  • I think jmathis2000 is correct. You set it to maintain weight. Since you lost weight MFP upped your calories to get you back to the weight you had when you set it to maintain (or to stop you loosing any more, ). This is probably to allow for people who are on here to GAIN weight ( thought they may be few in number). If you…
