After a while it just becomes a habit, and you just do it!

I reached my goal today. This was actually the 4th time since joining MFP because I lowered my weightloss goal 4 times! All along, I've had my calories set to lose 1/2 pound per week. I'm going to continue eating to my current TDEE minus 250 for the next couple of weeks because my granddaughter will be staying with me, and…

Huge difference! You look fabulous in that red suit! Congratulations!

Thank you very much for your service! It sounds like you are confused about the BMR - this is the number of calories your body needs to operate when you do nothing. You should not try to create a deficit from your BMR, but from your total calorie expenditure from your daily activities plus exercise. This will be a higher…

Fabulous achievement! You look great!

Haha, I did a lot of the same stuff today (no digging or weed pulling though). I log the grass mowing as mowing, and if I was pulling weeds and digging, I would log it as "gardening, general". I don't log the dog poop picking, but depending on how long it takes and the size of your yard, and the amount of poop, I guess it…

This sounds like a really good strategy! I will adopt this when I get to my goal weight.

Quest bars are not candy bars, they are high quality protein bars. Most taste delicious.

This is nonsense! I'm 68 years old, well past menopause, which happened due to surgery when I was 49 - 19 years ago.. My fat has not "redistributed" itself from my hips, butt and thighs to deposit itself on other parts of my body. The main change was that more of any weight gained seemed to land on my belly, rather than…

This! Overweight individuals frequently do look younger than their in the face because the extra fat plumps up the wrinkles. Lose the extra weight and now your face may actually look your age! With exercise and a good, nutritious diet, some of the sagginess may very well get better, but if not, who cares? It's probably not…

Yes, lifting weights can make you very hungry! Your diary us not open, so I cannot see what you've been eating, and how many calories. I personally have my macros set at 35% for protein and fat and 30% carbs, which gives me roughly 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. The protein helps me recover from the weight…

1 gram of protein per pound of total body weight is a good number for people who are cutting calories to lose weight. This will help minimize loss of lean body mass while you are losing weight, particularly if you do some strength training. If 200 grams seems too difficult, base your protein intake on our goal body weight,…

Have you discussed this with your nutritionist? Perhaps he/she can tweak your diet to avoid this by upping the calories a little bit? If not, a strategy that has worked for me is to go for a walk. By the time I finish, any cravings are usually gone.

Congratulations on your weightloss so far! That is an awesome achievement! Looking at your exercise schedule, I do think you may want to consider dropping the classes with the 10 lb dumbells and the abs classes, and substituting 3 whole body strength training workouts with heavy weights. These types of workouts may not…

It's not going to matter for just one day.

The number does show up under the picture/avatar. Are you heavier now than when you used the site earlier? If so, I think it will show 0 until you get below your earlier low weight. Perhaps there is a way to "reset" your weight if that is the case. You could ask the help desk people - send them an e-mail. They were very…

Great job! Congratulations!

Based on your height and weight, you are underweight or close to it (depending on your actual height - 5'6" or 5'5") so I seriously doubt that you have huge rolls of fat on your stomach. Please do not try to lose more weight and make sure you eat enough to fuel all those workouts!
-
Wow! Fabulous accomplishment!

^^^This. Based on your pictures, you still have some fat to lose, and you are new to lifting, so this is not a time for you to bulk. Also, you will get MUCH better results from your resistance training by following an established program designed by experts like those suggested, rather than randomly picking some exercises.…

When you have a small calorie allowance, you have to make sure everything you eat is very nutrient dense. You really cannot spend 25% of your calories on ice cream and candy and expect to meet all your macros or all the micros you need. Not sure why you're only allowing yourself only 1000 calories a day, but I would…

Awesome!!!

Protein helps keep you full and helps prevent loss of muscle while you are losing weight, so it could be beneficial, depending on what the rest of your diet is like. And as long as you're still eating at a deficit!
-
You've received some excellent advice already, so I don't have a whole lit to add, except that sometimes change can be a little scary, even if the changes are for the better. You've made what sounds like a really good career change, and you started on a path to improve your health and fitness, which is also an excellent…

Adding some new exercise may help. I was stuck for about a month and added a Zumba class to what I was already doing. Weight started coming off again! Could have been coincidence but the additional calories burned did increase my deficit.
-
This^^^. Also, 5 pounds in two months is quite good for someone like you, with only a little more than 20 pounds to lose!
-
It appears that you are not consistently logging all your food. Also, it looks like you may not be weighing and measuring accurately, since all the numbers are even (100 grams, etc.) so this may be the reason you are not losing. Your diet appears quite low in protein. I suggest you start upping your protein intake and…

Me too!

I agree with the others that there is nothing wrong with your shoulders and arms. However, you could check out Brett Contreras website, he has an article on this subject, "How to attain a slender look," which I think you will find interesting. ETA: the solution is NOT to stop exercising! I highly encourage you to read the…

Of course the calories burned during exercise are helping you lose weight, if the walking is helping you create a calorie deficit. If you eat all your exercise calories back, then the walking may not contribute to your deficit, but you would be able to eat more calories for the same deficit as if you didn't walk. If that…
