I don't see any water logged in your diary. Are you drinking water? If not start drinking water it will help flush out sodium, and release some water weight.

Mine was to recommit to MFP, and get back on track with calories and begin exercising again. The hardest part of it for me was to give up Mountain Dew. Haven't had even 1 can in 2013. Staying strong and excited to keep going...and to re-join the gym.

Your body needs sodium. Not everyone with low sodium has a disorder as one poster commented. I for one have spent my whole adult life buying low sodium options for most of my food, and I don't like to add salt to my food. After having routine bloodwork done a couple of years ago my doctor said I needed to eat more salt.…

My scale has one spot on the floor where it thinks I'm lighter. If I move it from that spot I get all kinds of different numbers. I try to use the same spot everyday.

Sometimes increasing calories will make you start losing. Although I agree with those who have suggested taking measurements.

Waist, face, then back.

If you cant find a food, but you know how many calories. It wont provide a breakdown of nutrients.

Mistaking thirst for hunger is very common. I usually drink water.

SW: 193 CW: 188.4 GW: 140 (will re-evaluate as I get closer) down 4.6 What does LW stand for?

I would suggest taking measurements of waist, hips, thighs, bust, neck, etc.. Even when you aren't losing pounds you will often see a decrease in the measurements, but I wouldn't take measurements more than once a month. Other changes in your body = are you sleeping better, have more energy through the day?? Stick with it…

I guess I'm shooting for somewhere between a 5 gallon bottle of water and an air conditioner. Yikes!

I'm the type that finds it helpful to get on the scale daily. However I take measurements monthly. Sometimes it gets discouraging when the scale refuses to budge-- that's when the measurements are really helpful. In my experience those are the times that the measurements are dropping. I would only measure once a month or…

I was on here in 2011 and lost a good amount. Then had a few major changes in my life and quit logging. I just started again. My advice-- log everything that goes into your mouth. Be completely honest with yourself including portion sizes and calories burned. I had a decent day today, but was craving chocolate tonight. I…

Great job. I know how hard it is when you want a dew. That's my biggest problem. I've gone 3 days now. You can do this. Feel free to add me.

More water. NO Mountain Dew, and portion control. I allow myself any food that I want, except Mountain Dew = as long as they are within my calorie limit. When I hit a plateau I will re-evaluate my goals. When I lost weight a couple of years ago I had to increase my calories in order to push past the plateau.

I have not yet received an invitation, so I'm making an assumption that this challenge is full. I have found another challenge in which to participate, therefore please do not include me in this one.

As I read through the responses, I didn't see Water listed. For me the more water I drink, the less I crave sweets.

This site is awesome. I lost quite a bit a couple years ago, but fell back into bad habits, so I'm starting over. Best wishes on your journey.

Welcome. Good luck on your journey. Exercise will definitely help. I started by just counting the calories the first couple of weeks, then added exercise. I wouldn't focus as much on the number on the scale by April 1 as much as I would take measurements of Neck, Breast, Waist, Hip, and Thigh and look for changes in those…

Great job! Keep up the awesome progress.

I am interested if you have room. Just started back to MFP after a long break. Need all the motivation I can get.

I'm in.. I was pretty successful on MFP in 2011, but 'fell off the fitness wagon'. Gained more back than I care to admit, but it is time to own it and start from scratch. Although I am hoping to lose much more than 5 pounds in January, I need to stay accountable. SW: 193 CW: 193 GW (by January 31): 180 Weigh in: 1/1 193…

I had always been embarassed about running, jogging where anyone could see me. Then I decided I was going to take care of me and who cares what anyone else thinks. It is all about getting out there and doing something to better yourself. If other people judge you then it is their problem. I just remind myself that they may…
