  • Agreed! I use protein because I like my yummy shakes, and there is NO way I can get all my protein requirements in without using some supplements. I've tried, but with my busy schedule, I can't cook or buy the tons of meat I need. I really like Optimum Nutrition, both double chocolate and french vanilla creme. Not too…
  • Don't worry, from my personal experience, the bigger tatas make your arms and waist appear more slender and toned!! I honestly wasn't comfortable with upper body weights for maybe 2 months, but I did lower-impact cardio and legs. Things that didn't jiggle me around too much...lol. Heal well!! =)
  • I definitely need my gym...no room/money in my small apartment for weights or classes! :P my apartment has a very, VERY small gym that I hate, but it's nice for a bit of cardio when I'm pressed for time. Otherwise, I actually get more motivation to get in shape when I have a gym membership...I gained about 15 pounds when I…
  • What inspiration!! I never challenged myself with weight training when I started working out 4-5 years ago, and now I'm really regretting it. I started New Rules of Lifting for Women a month ago, and I would love love love to be a super bulky "after" like you ladies!!
  • I think they're okay if you're pressed for time, but they get expensive and you gotta watch for that sodium!! Plus you can make your own food that will probably be healthier and more substantial. Try making a big batch of food in a crock pot and sticking the individual servings in tupperware...easy peasy!
  • I didn't try looking at your diary, but you could be doing what I was doing...I wouldn't eat enough during the day and feel fine...but then it'd catch up to me by dinner, and I'd want to eat everything!! This was a regular occurrence for me for, like, 1-2 years. I've found that upping my proportion of protein and fat,…
  • I don't drink NEARLY as much as I used to, but when I was out partying every single weekend, looking back I feel like that nearly ruined everything I worked so hard for! Yeah, I'd try to be diligent with calories and working out during the week, but then I'd completely alcohol binge and eat 3am White Castle. For me, at…
  • I have it on my Nook, too, and I was able to put it on my iPhone as well, so I always have it conveniently on me! The Nook version is definitely convenient, but the thing I don't like is having to flip through pages upon pages trying to figure out what I need!! Definitely bookmark and highlight all the pages you think…
  • Yeah, I asked my marine, weightlifting master of a brother his opinion, and he recommended a higher quality product. Just figured I'd try it and see a difference - it's not TOO much more $$ but mixes better and tastes good. It's so much fluffier and lighter than the cheaper one, so the scoop seems off. Thanks for the reply!
  • I just started this program today, too! =) Really hoping to get better results from the gym/a consistent routine than I have for the past, oh, 4-5 years doing cardio and light weights... :grumble: Question: does it REALLY matter if we do the moves in the sequence he recommends?! I'm the type of person who hates standing…
  • ooh thanks for posting!! you motivated me to finally update my app on my iphone, and that feature seems awesome!
  •   ... read WAAAAY too many fashion/womanly/celebrity gossip magazines, or I just print out my study guides to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Sometimes I think I study better on the elliptical than at home!
  • oooh, bump for ideas later!!! =) I love oatmeal... I'm boring, though, and usually only add a sliced banana.
  • oh gosh, I can totally relate to this and many of the other previous posts... It's horrible!!! I'm so happy I've lost some weight, but now I am just completely OBSESSED with the way I look! And since my weight has been pretty stagnant the last 3-4 weeks, I'm getting discouraged and even more depressed with my body. I'm…
  • Almost every time I look in the bathroom or my full-length mirror.... part of it is "yay, you've lost some weight!" while I'm flexing and sucking in, and the other part is "eww, you still have a ways to go...." haha
  • lol, LOVE!! that's why I barely have any posts. I just search for what I need advice on for the most part.
  • I LOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEE my greek yogurt (Oikos, which has 5 less calories/serving than Chobani :P lol) with 1-2 tbsp sugar-free chocolate syrup!!!!!! Then I'll add 1/4 or 1/2 cup of Kashi cereal for some crunch if I'm in the mood. =) also delicious with fruit like every one suggested...and who doesn't love fruit…
  • I love my hair and tatas! and my height (5'3)....not tall, not too short. Though there are little imperfections I'd like to fix with my smile, I do like that as well.
  • yupppp, I'm also obsessed lol. I weigh myself several times a day, but it really helps me stay on track (otherwise, I'd forget to weigh myself on a regular basis) and learn how my body holds on to water weight and whatnot. I write down about 2-3 of those numbers every day on a calendar I have in my bathroom just so I can…
  • ...you have to calibrate digital food scales??? lol. I don't think mine has a setting for that? hmm, guess I better weigh some coins then! thanks everyone, I enjoyed my 4 "extra" pretzels!! ;)
  • Ditto! Feel free to add me and/or stalk my diary! =)
  • LOL, I think I'm the only person that always weighs the most in the morning and lightest in the middle of the day (typically)!
  • woohoo, congrats girl!! we seem to have similar stats (though I don't know how tall you are), and I'm right with ya there... a few pounds really does make a difference, especially mentally! keep it up! =)
  • LOVE this thread!! congrats everyone! I can't wait til I have good before & afters of my own! =)
  • LOL, oh no, I'm one of those people that wear perfume/body spray at the gym... :blushing: I only wear a little bit, I swear, just to help mask the scent of sweat!! I'm not overly sensitive to smells, though (except stronnnng BO....I'll take cologne lol), but I'll be sure to tone it down! :P
  • I don't think it'd hurt to try strength training! There are many benefits to it, such as burning more calories at rest since muscle is more metabolically active. And sculpting your muscles gives you a more lean look. =) bump as well!
  • I'm talking about the pathological state of ketoacidosis which can occur from prolonged ketosis. I don't know if you can consider ketosis "healthy" seeing as liver glycogen is depleted, and the brain can't use fatty acids. I'll admit I don't know much about the low-carb diets, but from my understanding (I majored in bio…
