You forgot your proximity to Yakima. If you like beer, you should thank us. 90% of the U.S. production of hops happens here. Right now is the best time of the year here too. Our Indian Summer has just began. Other than that, our proximity to places like Seattle is great. You can get there in two hours, but live…

I had a doc at work giving me a hard time about it a couple months ago. (In a friendly manner) suggesting I could be sick, or had bariatric surgery. I replied, "nope, it's just meth." and walked off.

I have explored this topic a few times http://jamesrobert.us/wp/?p=251 It just amazes me the way people hold on to the idea of a quick purchased solution.

I do the same, but I put two cups of baby spinach and some cut up baby portabellas in it, and some feta. ETA: I was trying to reply to the four egg whites, two eggs omelette reply

The Trooper, Iron Maiden Aces High, Iron Maiden Last Caress/Green Hell, Metallica Chop Suey, SOAD I'm sure there are many others I am forgetting.

Not sure if this thread was meant for the ladies only, or if it is open to men as well. I will say that I am a mixed bag concerning this question. With my clothes on, I look like I weigh less than I do. I have very big wrists, shoulders, etc. and am fairly tall at 75". When I take my shirt off and look in the mirror, I…

I'm glad you asked. I worry more about getting a variety of healthyish food at a calorie deficit than macros per se. But your question made me go back and look. Looks like I am carb cycling naturally. I tend to run in the 70s for a couple days, then the 90s a couple days, then the 120s a couple then back down. Every month…

I do an hour on the elliptical three to four times a week. I really do whatever it takes me to get to at least five miles. I do it in front of the cardio theatre and I play games in my head with it. I do my best to try and guess how far into what DIY/HGTV show I will need to be to make an hour and then I try not to look at…

I get at least that many in on the elliptical averaged over a week, but my knees just don't care for the real running anymore. Maybe when I get to goal weight I'll try again.

Not a fan at all. Never have been, don't think I ever will be.

I am not sure what "eating sensibly" means. But if you want to lose weight, you need to log your food and run a calorie deficit. Walking 3 miles a day, four days a week at your current weight burns about 500 calories a week. 0.15 pounds of fat. At a fifteen minute mile, that takes about three hours a week. Eating a 500…

I put PB2 in my protein post workout protein shake, two scoops of muscle pharm combat powder cookies and cream with two tbsp of PB2 blended with ice and water. Tastes a lot like peanut butter and is filling and low fat. Get a good filling liter of it for a little over 300 calories.

A year and a half ago I was making beer every other weekend. Had four taps always live in the garage with big ales on. I would have three or four beers a night. Easy 1000 calories there. I even have a key to the $20k pilot sized brewery at the Hop Union and an alarm code. As I changed my mindset about what I wanted from…

I'm 12 hour nights, and I tend to work 8 of 9 in a row. As I get out into the last few shifts, I find that I come home from work and tired eat poor choices more often right before going to bed. Our cafeteria is only open from 0030-0300 Sunday-Thursday. I go down most nights and come back empty handed and eat what I have…

OP, just for giggles, put in a three hour round of golf, riding in an electric cart. That was when I realized that MFP could not be relied on for accuracy. If MFP was accurate, then why are there so many overweight golfers at my course. They must be on the all double quarter pounder all the time diet to make up for all…

I work with mostly educated women, in the medical field, more than half of which are usually "trying to lose weight." There are a lot of Advocare and Omnitrition folks there. I have weekly conversations I really enjoy. First one: Coworker, "you look great, are you doing Omnitirion/Advocare." Me, "no, I can't afford…

I don't. In fact I play a little head game with myself where I try to have MFP's outrageous estimates of my calories burned in exercise and my caloric intake for the day as close to net as possible.

My diary is open, people are welcome to look and comment. I work 1900-0730, usually seven days in a nine day stretch with four to seven off after. I have my meals in MFP by times, midnight, 0400, 0800, noon, 1700 and snacks. When I am working it is hit and miss whether I eat at 0800 when I get home from work. I sleep…

The real answer is whenever I can. I work 12s (1900-0730), and tend to work seven days out of a nine day stretch with five to seven off after. When I am working I go home and go to bed as soon as possible. This allows me to get up around 1430 and go work out, then I come home have family time, including a meal, and go to…

You have been given a lot of good advice already. The only thing I could possibly add is to change your relationship with him. That is, make the times that you are available to him things like, going for a walk, or coming to the gym with you. Exercise can be amazing at treating depression. It is also, as I am sure you…

Two zuchini run through a vegetti, sauted with sweet onions, 4oz boneless skinless chicken breast, and one cup crimini mushrooms in olive oil, then simmered in garlic pasta sauce.
