@Everyonelies :( good time to start a new resolution and enjoying the fruits of your work (also, it will come back off and you will be rocking it again)

i would say you should probably talk to your doctor. i know in general it is ok to lower the fat and increase the protein, but not sure on the impact for your case. ... or you can always increase protein while leaving fat where it is and see how that goes (both for weight & satiation). but again, you should probably talk…

to add to what @Iamsimpleguy said, get lots of salt/sodium. it may help with the sugar cravings as well as mitigating the overall keto flu symptoms

@juststartedrunningagain i don't know if you are looking for general benefits or specifically from @nvmomketo (if the latter, apologies) but for me the biggest benefit is that i no longer need 2+ Monster® drinks to get through the day. i also don't feel myself falling asleep at work or on the way home. while i miss the…

@jmreeves1987 the other thing you can look at, along with doubling/tripling the recipes for the smaller serving sizes, is to make casseroles and use them throughout the week. it won't necessarily reach your calorie requirement, but several of the ones i make are in the 400-500/serving (at 12 - 15 servings per casserole).…

i'm sorry to hear about your mom @jdcntry1 :( hope this year goes better (in all ways)
-
sorry to hear about your cold, @PaulaKro :( hope the anxiety-based eating resolves itself quickly and that the keto WOE comes back quickly. … that sounds like something i will end up facing as well (in a year or so if i can keep on keto-ing on and break through this slow rising plateau).

very cool @Everyonelies

"safe" appears to fall in the "YMMV & personal macro tracking" category. i enjoy the think thin high protein bars and use them if i need a boost to calories or protein for the day (or just want a treat/something to snack on). i don't _think_ i have seen any negative impact; but i have heard of it in others (both in this…

Thank you for sharing the journey with us & tips for watching out on dangers of the scale. Good perspective on plateaus (for when that is truly why) Good luck in 2019!

very nice; congrats @CentaurusSoter

I did not eat the bag of peanut butter m&ms (the BIG pantry-size one) we got for Christmas. not only did i not eat the bag, i haven't taken any of them yet. considering how much i enjoy them, and something i could (and used to) eat in a maximum of two sittings, i am calling it a win.

Thank you, @Re_Banana; hope you had a great Christmas as well. Goals: 1) use the post-Christmas surprise spinning bike from my wife at least 2 x 30 min sessions a week 2) lose fat/inches (no consistent access to a scale for the first 6 - 9 months of the year but still need/want something to track) 3) do better about…

thank you, @chinatowninchina!

@Everyonelies go you! sorry it's been a hectic week; but glad you are getting rest. hope you have a good New Year!

Thank you ma’am

@kahart625 IF == Intermittent Fasting. my off-the-cuff explanation (because I have not taken time to dive into it as I am not yet to where i will be attempting it) is that it is a targeted/intentional extended fast rather than the 8ish hours associated with dinner to breakfast. the goal, from my read on the group, is that…
-
@Sunny_Bunny_ thank you for the tip on that. as far as you are aware, is that a standard item (sodium deficiency can/will lead to sweet cravings, whether going keto or otherwise)?
-
thanks, @NikkiJRM!

SW'17: 368 GW: 194 - 225 Dec goal: 265 (or lower)…I am hoping to have a net loss of at least 5 lbs (the net loss of 1 lb in Nov is rather underwhelming and depressing). Monday 12/03: 270.4 Monday 12/10: 271.6 Monday 12/17: 271.6 Monday 12/24: 268.6 Monday 12/31

@kahart625 I would suggest trying to bring down your fat & upping your protein. and, as much as it may not be pleasant, do a check with your doctor on if there is anything metabolically impeding the transition or causing issues with loss. also, check measurements & pictures. i know it is not pleasant, but sometimes the…

SW'17: 368 GW: 194 - 225 Dec goal: 265 (or lower)…I am hoping to have a net loss of at least 5 lbs (the net loss of 1 lb in Nov is rather underwhelming and depressing). The 1.2 gain is worse. But. With that said, I am still sitting comfortably in a size that i haven't in years. and my "infinity" belt is having spots used…

i'm sorry to hear about your family struggles, @CentaurusSoter hope you are able to make it successfully (in all the ways possible)
-
thank you, @qweck3 glad to hear maintenance is working for you. and jealous of your total carbs :) (though, i do not envy you the work it takes to reach that. though i may see if i can do something when i reach that point to have that many…but that is an issue for another year. no pun intended).

:) thank you for the vote of confidence and helping me keep going. i fully expect you to pass me and then i will be riding your ghost ^^ i hope keto works for you long-term; like you (?) trying to be not overweight has been a struggle forever. and i haven't found a way to keep it off until now (at least i think i will be…

@CentaurusSoter if you are like me, that is always freaky to see/feel/realize. congrats!

SW'17: 368 GW: 194 - 225 Dec goal: 265 (or lower)…I hit 260s several times during the week last month (only once on a record keeping day), but kept creeping up. I am hoping to have a net loss of at least 5 lbs (the net loss of 1 lb in Nov is rather underwhelming and depressing) Monday 12/03: 270.4 Monday 12/10: 271.6…

when i work at home, i do similar to @baconslave and do it after everyone is in bed & before i go to bed (so between 1:00 - 2:00AM). when i am able to go in the office, i either go on a walk during my lunch or go do the elliptical for 30-45 minutes.
