SW'17: 368 GW: 194 - 225 Dec goal: 265 (or lower)…I hit 260s several times during the week last month (only once on a record keeping day), but kept creeping up. I am hoping to have a net loss of at least 5 lbs (the net loss of 1 lb in Nov is rather underwhelming and depressing) Monday 12/03: 270.4 Monday 12/10 Monday 12/17…

sweet; thank you, sir

sweet; thank you, ma'am!

@Wifett3 & @CentaurusSoter do you cook the broccoli/cauliflower prior to putting it in the blender/food processor or do it raw and then cook it?

SW (10'13): 388 (lost 133 lbs by 10'14) SW (10'18): 368 GW 194 - 225 (not sure what I can be healthy and maintain at on keto) Nov GW: 265 (lazy? probably; reachable? maybe. too many goodies this month. and will be awkward to not eat all the pie that i will be making…though i may make my own pie crust this year to see if i…

@PaulaKro not at all an odd NSV; i think that is an awesome & appropriate one (at least as much as i can being the wrong gender to fully appreciate the intricacies). congrats! @CentaurusSoter that is an amazing victory. not to mention a wicked fast & hard workout.

@cheermom49 are you worried about cheese intake for the fat? or because all your calories will go to that rather than other foods? hope it goes well for you
-
@sbryanthc sorry you couldn't sleep; i agree on not wanting to quit. i didn't realize just how quickly the negative impact of eating so many carbs at a time would hit me. i have done over the 20-25g I have been averaging in the evenings a couple times for special occasions. but an all-out-carb-pre-keto style, that was the…

while i am glad i do not have some of the issues others have described, i think i have found what happens when i go carb crazy (at least at night): GERD/heart burn. i haven't felt that bad in a long time…at least i made it through thanksgiving without that. i know what happened and not sure how i am going to avoid it going…

thank you, @qweck3
-
@qweck3 is the cauliflower something you cook/warm up or eat raw? I'll add myself to the breadless sandwich group with mustard to give it a little kick.
-
@xDaniDragonflyx that sounds like a great goal (especially after how you felt about eating, and more importantly enjoying, Thanksgiving dinner)
-
@CentaurusSoter LOL (on the animal, though it would be pretty cool. other than the fear factor). i agree on the hunger control and just being able to work. i think i am very blessed that i haven't (yet) had inflammation issues from my weight @nvmomketo thank you for being willing to share. those sound like good reasons to…

thank you for the tip, @CentaurusSoter! I will try that at Christmas @qweck3 sweet!!! that is very awesome (sorry to hear about the catch-22 success at the theme parks…but glad to hear the end is in sight)

I adjusted a family recipe to be keto-friendly and using a coconut flour pie crust (4 net carbs, including the crust) . and it almost worked!…which i will take as a win since this is the first recipe i have tried to adjust on a 1:1 basis (rather than finding ones that others have made). i now know that using 100% dark…
-
@nvmomketo if you don't mind, disturbing because of other things going on at that time? or because you felt/feel more on the ball/on top of things and it was scary because of the unexpected difference?
-
Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all enjoy the food you eat, especially if you choose to partake of all the non-keto goodies. I am going to have multiple splurges and wish the same to you :)
-
Thank you, @sykin. same to you!

@xDaniDragonflyx sweet!

@CarolynRSB good luck! hope they all go well! @chinatowninchina good luck to you & hope all goes well!

Another option, that while not as pleasing as numbers dropping on the scale, is profile pics once or twice a month. i can't tell a difference in my appearance, but when I look at the profile pics (idea stolen from others), I can see a difference. I can also fit in pants sizes I haven't for 20+ years (depending on the…

@chinatowninchina hope the visit goes well. and enjoy the food :) @larkspur94 Yup. Absolutely; there are pies that I make once or twice a year (Thanksgiving & Christmas). Will I make the usual 2 - 4 for each holiday? Probably not; but I will still make and eat one per holiday.

@nvmomketo if it makes you feel better, you are not the only one in that boat. my 14-year-old is in size 13 (and still growing)
-
How, and if, you use net carbs is up to you. Same for using a custom food or not
-
@Gaynze you are welcome i would not change it until at least another 10 lbs. based on feedback from others that i have seen, the first round off is misleading and changing at this point could set yourself up for failure. as with all things weight, YMMV; you may want to try it and see if it works for you

when you say "recommended fat intake" are you referring to hitting what the macros tell you to get as your upper limit? or are you referring to a minimal value? fat & carbs are max; protein is a desired minimum (hard to hit sometimes). at least that is how i have been suggested to look at it (YMMV)
