  • Still married 42 1/2 years later.
  • My mother was a teen mom. She had my brother at 17, me 13 mths later, my sister at 20 and my baby brother at 22. Then she said she figured out what was causing it and stopped. I knew she didn't want me. So when I married I was determined that my children would NEVER think I didn't love or want them. So I waited 6 years to…
  • Oh yeah, forgot to mention we had a boy who was excused from school a couple of week ago because he had to have a paternity test. He's in the 4th grade. I think sex education is becoming an on the job training. Anyone like me.....think there's too many hormones in our food? Girls having periods at 8 and 9....boys taking…
  • I work at an elementary school and see first hand the problems many of the children born to teenage parents - some as young as 12 years old - endure on a daily basis. Realize that these children are graduating at the same time their children are going into kindergarten. It seems to especially hit the boys hard when they…
  • WAFFLES IS SO CUTE! I have the almost exact copy named "Silly". Found him at the local dumpster. He was around 5 weeks old. The vet said it was the worst case of ringworms she'd ever seen. I had to bath him every other night for over 3 months. Needless to say he loves his bath and will get in the bathtub and try to turn on…
  • At a party back in the 60s and a guy comes straight up to me....didn't know him from Adam....and says right off the bat " Can I bleep-bleep you?" I hauled off and slapped the bleep-bleep out of him. Do they EVER change?

  • I love to put almond milk in a bowl and then add frozen blueberries. In a minute or two the milk has crystalized around the blueberries and it becomes almost like ice cream. It fills me up like ice cream. I love it this way.:flowerforyou:
  • I find it strange that when a boy is heavier all he (USUALLY) hears is "wow, you could be a linebacker". But when it's a girl she hears rude and just plain mean words. I was so thin I was called a "toothpick". Too big.....too little....too wide.....too narrow. When is it just right? NEVER! And WHO decides? If we're…
  • P L E A S E !! I'm 60 years old! Talk about taking too long to get on the fitness track. In my younger years I had to take weight on pills to try to gain weight. So of course I saw nothing wrong with myself until I was diagnosed pre-diabetic...something my dad and 13 month older than me brother whom I loved dearly both had…
  • Makes sense.......that may be why I keep trying to lose that last 6 lbs. but it won't budge. I absolutely love peanut butter and banana sandwiches. I have one almost every day when I get home from work. Plus being over 60 makes for a very slow metabalium (whatever- I'm only a tutor - so why should I be able to spell?)
  • I've seen this Olivio on sites a lot lately. But where can I get it?
  • This sounds good. I'm going to try it tomorrow morning.

  • I WISH I KNEW! My husband thinks I've lost enough. I weigh 150.0. So he's on a bake a cake a week spree. I have zero willpower when it comes to cake. I can look at one and boom I've eaten the first half and begun on the second. Anyway he baked week before last just after I had hit 148.2. Next day I'm 152.8. At that point I…

  • I see where you have whole flaxseed listed as an ingredient. Did you know that the whole flaxseed only passes thru....the body can't break down the outer coating. (per Dr. Oz) I use the ground flaxseed or grind it in the coffee grinder. Just some information I thought I'd pass on.
  • SO RIGHT!!! When we have good health we ignore it. When we have poor health we focus only on the parts that are ailing at the moment. So quickly we forget there's more to us. For those of us who can pick it up and put it down.......we better do it . By all fairness - when it hurts, it does hurt................. 60 and in…
  • never tried celery with peanut butter- heard of it but somehow can't get over the celery part. needless to say not a fan of celery. Oh but peanut butter banana sandwiches. I could live off them!
  • a good fruit salad is to mix 1/2 cup cottage cheese, 1 large can mandarin oranges (in natural juices),1 (8) ounce tub fat free kool whip, a few nuts if you like them (and I don't mean kin folks), and 1 small box sugar free orange koolaid. Let sit overnight. It's luscious and low on calories. Fills that sweet tooth with…

  • I know this also may sound weird but bananas give you potassium. Maybe you have an issue with potassium. I do know that not having enough potassium in you will cause you to get leg & muscle cramps. But I don't know about too much. How many do you eat at a time? And are they ripe or overripe? Another thing about bananas…
  • love the husband.....but really! He retired 2 years ago and I will after next year. In the meantime he's taking a huge load off me by keeping the home fires going. Only thing is he says I've lost enough weight. So he's cooking these huge sheet cakes with everything fattening he can find in them. And after 42 years of…
  • My husband is on a kick that I've lost enough -25 lbs. in the last 2 yrs. - so he's cooking cakes with tons of calories. I have zero willpower for cake and he knows it. So he makes huge sheet cakes. Last night I gobbled down about 400 calories ...this being a cheaters estimation .... and now I'm craving more. Should I…
  • Throw in an ounce of chocolate for your heart too. One ounce a day will keep the doctor away! And we do love our chocolate. Good luck on your health. It's great to hear from younger people who are interested in their health. I'm 60 and never thought about health until I was prediabetic and in my later 50s. You are doing…
  • For a smoothie, just put in some milk, frozen fruit, yogurt, nuts if you want crunch (or raw oatmeal if you want crunch and fiber). cover and turn on the blender. Add more milk if you want it thinner. The frozen fruit makes it thicker than fresh fruit.
