knibble good stuff in between meals has helped me. I eat grapes one at a time throughout the day and I cut up an apple and do the same with it to stretch out the time. I usually am less hungry at supper time. Also really watch the size of your portions. Good luck and keep up the good work.

If you click on the picture it shows you both pics in a smaller version and yes there is definitely a difference. Great way to keep track taking the pics after each 10 pound loss. Wish I had done that.

Thanks Melissa, for the correction. I must tell my hubby to take the Melatonin earlier.

Try meletona ( spelling) it is found naturally in turkey but it helps with sleep. My husband is finding although he does not sleep longer he sleeps better. Stress and sleep are factors in weight loss basically a well balanced lifestyle (food, exercise and sleep) is what is needed for good weight control. Try writing down…

I am no expert on any of this but my gut tells me you are not going to keep it off if you take it off the quickly. You may want that six pack but I think you will be happier if you don't push yourself so hard to get it. You may think the six pack will be the ultimate, but when it comes down to it.....it is the heart of the…

I motivate myself by setting goals with friends who are also changing their lifestyles. We challenge each other to a 2 or 3 pound weight loss between our dog sports events that we attend once a month. Non of us have missed our goals so far and some have maintained, we celebrate with something special....a treat, a drink or…

Hey ladies, I went through a miserable time turning 40, made everyone miserable along with me.....so as I approached 50 I decided I was going to take on a new outlook on life and instead of "oh wooesss me" I am getting old, which by the way we can do nothing about, I decided to plan my own party and invite 7 of my long…

Welcome, it is a great place to track what you eat and do for exercise. I love reading the stories of peoples successes they are inspiring.

I have a very basic slow cooker. It is fantastic. It has a warm setting, and high and low, high for 4 to 5 hours of cooking and low for the 8 hour range. You really don't have to know how to cook, basically you throw in your meat or what ever and some seasonings, put the lid on and leave. I bought the Company is coming…

thank you, I should have known that as my son uses one all the time.

Cool but pleasant here on the East Coast of Canada, friend me if you would like.

Aerobics can be any exercise that elevates your heart rate during exercise, but most go to aerobic classes where they do dance moves or jumping jacks, step exercise and fast moving none stop exercises with a warm up and cool down. Zumba could be classed as aerobics.

A big hello from the other coast of Canada, Saint John, New Brunswick on the beautiful Bay of Fundy.....hopefully soon to be on the wonders of the world list.

It takes a while to form a habit, but once you do then you commit to it daily. I find on those days that I just want to say the heck with it I will go in and do only a couple of minutes on the treadmill but at least I got on it and I didn't break the habit. If you hate exercising because you have to change into work out…

It appears to be a good exercise machine, pricey but for those with bad knees who can't walk a lot thought it would really good. Surprised you guys haven't heard of it, the US always seems to get electronics before we do here in Canada.

Welcome Mason, good luck on your lifestyle change. Eating healthy when you are young is a good start to a long life.

Your routine seems to be the same all the time and if you food is also repeats sometimes your body just gets used to the same old same old. I know I went through that and then I decided to take a weekend off of the exercise and still watching what I ate. I then went back at it changing my eating and do different exercise…

Welcome, the site is awesome. I find if I record what I am planning on eating for the day I don't go over as once it is in print I really feel committed to it. Good luck on the new life style journey.

It has helped me reach my first goal and even though I was happy with that encouraged me to set a new goal which I am now only 2.8 pounds away from. Enjoy and I can hardly wait until I get my phone so I can have MFP with me when I travel.

Here in Canada we tell everyone we talk to "Hope you have a good day" it is a sign of friendship and wishing the other person well and that good things will happen for them throughout their day. They usually reply back, "Thanks and same to you". So to all of you Have a fantastic evening and weekend"

Both, we have two dogs working on getting number three and one cat who puts the two 50 pound dogs in their place occassionally. Dogs come when they are called, cats say take a message i will get back to you later ! You know you are a dog lover when you have more than one, buy a vehicle to accomodate crates and don't…

Interesting topic, it is everyday life for sure, does it work up a sweat depends, can it be part of your exercise routine, most definitely but you have to make it an exercise. So just don't push the vaccum around the floor. As you are vaccuming, stand tall, put on foot out further than the other and lunge into each pass…

Welcome, it is a great journey to a new life style with "like" minded folks.

Welcome to the site. Gaining 15 pounds in 4 and 1/2 years is not something to beat yourself up about. That is only 3 pounds a year and just in normal aging through life they say that in each decade of your life you can put on 10 pounds. For you though this is something that is really bothering you, so you are on the right…

I have to say mine would be my long legs, because of my life long love for walking they have been the one part of me that has stayed fat free for 59 years.

Check out the amount of salt in all those processed frozen dinners etc. Water retention for sure and salt in large amounts is not very healthy. If you eat enough processed food you will be well pickled for life :). Preparing your own food is a lot cheaper in the long run and a lot tastier in my opinion. The minute I…

My OMG moment was when my grand daughter had to move away and I realized I would need to be in good shape to live to see her married one day. I knew I wanted to be a healthy NAN.

Try not to set huge goals for set times. Go small and just say I will exercise today and plan your meals, eat off smaller plates to fool your mind. To stay motivated, get a friend who is motivated to work with you and encourage you. Don't use the word diet, instead think in terms of lifestyle change to work towards a…
