"Thanks for listening" - are you crazy, girl? THANK YOU FOR SHARING! You look great, congratulations! I haven't lost any weight for the last 2 weeks and was beginning to feel a little discouraged, but you have motivated me again, and I'm very grateful. Happy birthday!

I've been happier since I turned 50 than I was in all those 50 years before! I've had problems - got run over by a car 12 years ago, and had mutliple bilateral pulmonary embolisms (blood clots in both lungs) last summer and still recovering from that. But I'm happier about the person I am. I no longer criticize myself for…

Praise God - you look fabulous! Thank you very much for sharing!

Well done - you look great! Thanks for sharing, good motivation for us all!

Thank you for the picture of the star magnolia - I've never seen one and it's beautiful! Thank you for the 'complex carbohydrates'! And I'm just saying hello after reading everyone else's post. I have nothing at all important to say! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience :) Maggie

Good post, good for you! What I've learned over the years is to be consistent with weighing myself. I do it once a week, no more, always on Saturday morning before I've eaten or drunk anything. Weighing yourself daily just doesn't take into account all the little daily fluctuations and I'm sure some people start any kind…

Hello all :) I've not seen any of these posts before but hope I'll see more. I love peanut butter, always have. I used to make peanut butter sandwiches with lots of margarine on white bread - sometimes with sliced apples in the sandwich, sometimes with a piece of processed cheese. It was nearly always two sandwiches.…

Toronto born, but I'm a Winnipegger now! I have 3 brothers still in Toronto, a sister in BC, friends in AB, SK, ON and NB. I have no advice for anyone, having just started on February 1 of this year - feel free to add me as a friend!

Thanks for sharing Kevin, and congratulations! I don't have that much weight to lose, but I do have other challenges to face, and I'm very glad I was referred to this website where I can see stories like yours and, I hope, get support when I need it. Maggie

Can you reduce the amount of liquid you cook the meat in so that you end up with 8 servings of meat and gravy?

Congratulations - and boy oh boy am I going to remember Onederland for when I hit it! I've got one complaint girl - your smile should be waaaaaay bigger than it is! Maggie

Good for you! It's wonderful when other people notice - and I'd be willing to bet that if two people COMMENTED, then a whole lot more than that noticed but didn't mention it! Maggie

Okay, I'll try for 400 minutes a week! It's not going to be easy; I face some challenges: - I'm recovering from multiple bilateral pulmonary embolisms (blood clots in both lungs) - I'm 63 years old - I smoked for 47 years, quit this January! - I was run over by a car 12 years ago, had my left knee broken and both ankles,…

You look fabulous, and you sound fabulous too! Congratulations, Ms. Inspiration! Maggie

Best of luck to you Dapunks! Last year, December 8th, was the first day I can remember that I didn't put salt on my food. I used to put salt on things like fried eggs until they were crunchy with the salt. Giving up salt was harder than quitting smoking after 47 years, lol. But I did it and I'm very glad I did because I…

There are lots of meaningful things you can give up for Lent, if that's what you want to do. There are lots of other spiritual disciplines you can do, such as taking something on. You could keep a spiritual diary through Lent. One thing I've done that was very difficult (maybe the hardest thing I've ever done for Lent) was…

Hi beyonddiet :) I think you might be trying to lose too much weight at one time. If you set a lower goal than 80 to 100 lbs in that time, you're much more likely to reach it. I haven't been doing this for long but so far I've been pretty successful. I'm careful to enter every bit of food that I eat, even if it's as little…

Good for you Lennonluv, having the chips there and not eating them! I stopped using salt last December and I'm just astonished that I can now eat eggs just plain, fried or poached or scrambled, when before I used to eat them crunchy with salt. I'm hoping to learn that same thing about quantity of food. Good luck to you!

Bread for me. I like any kind of bread, but my favourite is soft fresh white bread with cold hard butter - in about equal quantities! I had multiple bilateral pulmonary embolisms (blood clots in both lungs) and the haematologist I saw on January 31, 2014, told me to lose weight if I wanted to prevent any more. So that's…
