aaww i love it! those are the compliments that mean the most. maybe one of my boys will say the same to me when they grow up! a girl can dream lol. congrats on your success!

awesome thread! i'm 5' 9½" and have a goal of getting back to 160 where i got to before i started having kids. i was a size 10 and super comfortable. i never had a desire to be really skinny. it's nice reading goal weights of other taller women who's is similar to mine. i cannot relate when someone says they want to weight…

that is me in a nutshell! i'm always really interested to see what the root of a person's weight gain was and how they are overcoming that to help them lose weight and get back in control of their lives and health. so addictive.

feel free to add me! i've got about 60 to go still and will be around for a long time! i've been using this site regularly since jan 1st and it's great! lots of support and yes- definitely a lot of times i've figured out after the fact how many calories are in something i just ate!

bump. good info!

Absolutely this! and cold stone ice cream

I go to hot green tea and gum- never without gum! gets you the satisfaction of chewing and has flavor for no (ok 5) calories. also try brushing your teeth, i tend to think about eating more food when i can literally still taste it :ohwell:

i definitely see the changes! but i know what you mean, hard to see for yourself sometimes. how tall are you? i'm 5'9 and often find the changes hard to see since the weight is spread over a tall frame. losing 30lb for me isn't as dramatic as someone who is 5'3 like my sister in law lol. keep going, you're doing great!

amazing job! you look so much younger!

I flipped through a few days of your food log and notice you're not eating breakfast. A good healthy breakfast will get your metabolism going 1st thing in the morning and will also help you get closer to your recommended daily calories.

I think it has to do the kind of lifestyle they live on the biggest loser and how they workout, idk, 6+ hours a day. It's not feasible for a regular person to workout that much day in and day out for the rest of our lives. That show is short-term. How many contestants have gained the weight back? Quite a few because they…

you're doing awesome! what kind of workouts are you doing?

My 2 faves are Oxygen and Fitness. I like to start with the Success Stories, then literally read cover to cover all the way through.

i love the concern for your mom! adding you both :)

i understand your concern. i have a hard time congratulating someone for being under their calorie goal for the day when i look at their food log and it's all fast food and garbage day after day. i just say they may be losing weight since weight loss is at it's most basic a math game, but they're definitely cheating…

Absolutely! I stopped doing it regularly a while ago with my crazy job. I just started practicing regularly again and cannot believe how much my body has tightened up in the year since I let it go. I agree with jeffazi, it's more difficult since I also gained weight over the last year, but I have faith I will get back to…

i absolutely only log water as water- not tea, not coffee. flavored water, ok. i shoot for 8-12 cups of water a day, anything else from other soups or drinks is just bonus. or in the case of coffee and pop- not since it dehydrates you. it's one of the things if you look for the shortcuts, you're only cheating yourself.

pictures say a 1000 words! congrats to you all for your hard work! very inspiring :flowerforyou:

bump! thanks for putting this together!

wow! great results! i completely agree about turbo fire- it's addictive! way to prove that consistency is key in all of this!
-
i agree with all these, especially the gum and brushing your teeth! when i had a desk job i was a snacker too. i liked to use my apple cutter from pampered chef that cuts them into 10 pieces- you feel like you're eating a lot going back for slice after slice throughout the day, but you're only eating one apple! same with…

Me too! i make smoothies all the time for me and my boys with whatever we have around. would love to see some other ideas :o)

i like to chop half an apple and mix that in and add cinnamon before it goes in the microwave. then top with about a half-teaspoon of brown sugar. or i like raisins and walnuts, or even a tablespoon of dark chocolate chips. i did a quick search for healthy oatmeal recipes and a site called mrbreakfast.com has about 40+…

amazing job! congrats on your success!

I've tried eating apples or veggies, but I just feel so hungry. I end up eating more than I should and then go over my calorie goal. Help! Suggestions? If I just eat an apple or veggies by themselves, they don't fill me up at all. How about adding a tablespoon of almond butter to your apple or dipping your veggies in…

WOW! great job! i've kept measurements for years and i'm so glad i did too. even when the scale might not be moving (especially because i like to lift weights and muscle weighs more than fat), the inches show the results. keep it up!!
