  • I recently gave up my coffee addiction, which was as much or more, actually a sugar addiction. I loaded my coffee's with alot of sugar, and have done so for decades. It was no picnic. I had to go cold turkey, because weaning just never worked for me. It was rough, but what surprised me was that after the caffiene…
  • You rock Ed. :flowerforyou:
  • Wow, five pounds in 12 days? That's something else! Looks like you are well on your way alright! Yes this is a great place, good tools and amazing people. Welcome! :flowerforyou:
  • Yes, strep throat is nothing you want to put off getting remedied. Surely you can find a clinic that can at least run a test for that for next to nothing and prescribe the antibiotic. Don't put it off any longer!

  • Hope everyone's week got off to a good start! The weekend was refreshing for me, recharged for the week ahead. With any luck it will carry me through the whole week. Just got done with over an hour of Wii-ing. I try to push it on Mondays because Tuesday is my planned rest day. I managed to beat my high score in boxing…
  • Yep that annoyed me too when I discovered it. So no more. Now I just buy organic fat free and add my own fruit , ususally berries, and just a dash of raw sugar. They sneak that high fructose corn syrup in alot of things, you really have to go out of your way to avoid it.
  • Nice! I do look forward to that first myself. Keep up the good work!
  • Wow , so many of you are really dong this, I am impressed!!! I am only down about 4lbs so I don't see making it to 10 by April. I will be happy to make it at least half way though. Gotta say I am inspired at how quick some of you can shed pounds! My body seems to have me on an every-other-week plan, a couple pounds one…
  • Well, I am a little disappointed. No loss this week again. It seems , I am in a pattern of seeing a loss only every other week. What is up with that?? I guess I should be happy that it least it isn't up, and there is still time in the month to get there. Started at 174.4 , CW 171.2 . I do believe the immense stress at work…
  • Oh that is interesting. Maybe there is something to it after all. I confess, haven't been perfect. I had a small cup yesterday. It's the job's fault, I swear, its just killin me here. Overall at least I can say the habit is gone and having a slip up or two hasn't caused me to throw in the towel. Hearing that it may be…
  • Oh no Lisa! Ouch  . very sorry to hear you hurt yourself with the Wii-ing. A sprained ankle can take some time to heal and strengthen depending how bad it is. Please don't push it, and make sure it is strong again before you get back to it. I think I'd beware of jump squats for quite awhile after that. How frustrating…

  • I hvae heard it can be great for quite along list of things. You can google it, and people claim it cures or helps all kinds of ailments, and can help with weight loss. I tried it for a couple weeks once, drinking it with hot water and honey, but I just couldn't grow to like it and wasn't seeing any benefits. Maybe I…
  • Yes, I find that by Thursday, my organization is shot, the house is a mess, and I have had about enough of the work week. Eating right and sticking to the exercise routine gets a bit more challenging by the time Thursday arrives. I just try and keep it together knowing that the weekend is near. Hang in there everybody!
  • What a great attitude to come in with, you are going to do wonderfully for sure! Welcome to MFP, glad you can join us. :flowerforyou:
  • I am using the Wii Fit Plus, along with many others here. I do switch it up to keep from getting bored, but often I start by going into the routines, choosing a combination of all types and then let the Wii surprise me. If you choose one at a time, its about 20-25 minutes of different exercises, but lately I have gone…
  • I am a recovering coffee/sugar addict. Green tea and some fruit gives me a little pick me up. I like a little squirt of citrus in the tea as well when I can.

  • Glad you can join us! I am just a couple months here and find it keeps me motivated and on track. An amazing bunch of people here and all the support you could ask for. Best of luck reaching your goals!! :flowerforyou:
  • Making Time. Yeah, I know for me that is the biggest challenge of all! I work long stressful hours, am a single mother, and I have about a million other things that need doing besides exercise. Sleep being one of them!! Hey if you can get to the gym in the mornings that is most excellent. And to do it even with a sore leg,…
  • Lotsa Sawyer tonight ! oh yeah ..
  • Oh does a video marathon sound great. I will have to find some time to park myself on the couch for at least one movie soon. I could really use the down time. Maid it sounds like a good time. When my girl was young we did alot of that. Now it is hard to find a movie we both will agree on. She is 17 now, so we agree on very…

  • I was 24 when I decided to give up alcohol for a little bit. After a few weeks, went out for just one drink, and it gave me the worst hangover.. just one. I am 48 now.. I was never able to tolerate alcohol again although I tried several times. Not saying that will happen to you guys, just letting you know, that was my…
  • Well I have been crazy busy this week, finding little time to check in , but i am happy to say that I am another pound and a half down. Yay. I was a little surprised because I didn't have such a great week. Now I have somehow twisted my knee so having to find exercise that won't make it worse. Bought myself an HRM…
  • Sundays for me, no particular time, but the moment looms...
