ils, If I recall correctly, they do a few things, including a physical exam and interview. A number of blood tests should be done, especially blood sugar, insulin, and hormone levels. A couple of the major things they look for are irregular menses, acne, excess body or facial hair, and high blood pressure.

Exercise, exercise, exercise. I've had PCOS for about 15 years. It can be very difficult to lose the weight, but for me adding in at least 30 mins of moderate exercise 4-5 days per week and cutting back on the refined sugars and white flour has been the key.
