Fairly easy day today. I only did 115 lbs for squats but really focused on getting good depth and not leaning forward too much. Did 60 lbs for OHP and those felt easy. Worked up to 205 lbs for deads but only did 3 at that weight.

Squats 10x45 lb Then I tried a set of front squats wirh just the bar just to see what they felt like. Then back to my back squats. 5x5 @ 115 lbs Bench 10x 45 lbs paused 5x5 @85 lbs 1 hour power yoga Rows 5x5 @75 lbs I was able to get one pull up with the smallest band today. I tried to do a pull up without any assistance…

I struggle with learning firward too much on squats too. Maybe I need to start doing front squats.

Anyone can do Strong Lifts. And it's great to incorporate lifting while you are losing weight. It may be harder in a deficit but it's definitely do-able. Have you lifted before or do you have someone who can show you correct form on all the lifts?

Good luck on Saturday. Can't wait to hear how it goes. I'm home with a sick kid again today and it's killing me that I haven't been able to get to the gym the last two days.

Home with a sick kid today so I'll be trying to get some bodyweight and dumbbell stuff done at home today.

Oops, I posted mine in the November thread.

I started Strong Lifts as a novice lifter and it has worked well for me. I do work hard to keep good form and I don't always increase the weight every time if I feel like form is suffering, I'll keep weight the same until I can do that weight with good form. And I did just change my squats to 3x5 instead of 5x5 as it's…

You're 53?!

Strong Lifts is another one you might look at. It's simple and there's an app you can get and just follow what it tells you to do.

I make them a lot for lunch, in fact I just had one. I do two eggs and usually some red bell pepper and avocado, maybe some tomato, some kind of meat (usually ham or turkey but I didn't have that today so I just threw in some leftover taco meat), and sometimes I add cheese. I scramble it all together and put some of it on…

How are you tracking your intake? Do you have a food scale that you use for everything?

Squats 10x45 3x85 3x5 130 lbs Progressing slowly but surely. OHP 10x45 2x7 65 lbs 3x5 65 lbs Deads 5x135 lbs 5x185 lbs 1x3 210 lbs Just didn't have the last 2 in me today. 1 hour power yoga.

For what it's worth, I'm also 5' 6. I currently weigh 150 lb and I easily lose weight on 1400 calories a day. I actually eat about 1600 calories per day (plus 1/2 of my exersize calories) and still lose weight, just more slowly.

Squats 10x45 lb 3x85 lb 3x5 125 lb Felt good about these. I definitely like the 3x5 better for squats. I'm able to do them without feeling like I'm sacrificing form toward the end. Bench 10x45 5x5 90 lbs These felt good too. I was able to get all five sets without it being too difficult. I wasn't sure about the very last…

In awe here too. Totally impressive.

I tried to like running and used to make myself do it even though I never loved it. I found that I like cycling much better. Have you tried cycling (or rowing)? Might be better on your knees.
-
I'd just use the circuit training option.

Got back at it today after taking 6 days off. My body wasn't sure it wanted to do anything today. OHP This was really hard today and I wasn't even able to get my 5 sets of 5 at 65 lbs. The last two sets I only did 3 reps each. Deads Deadlifts are definitely my favorite. Today I did 5 x 145 lb, 5 x 195 lbs, 1x5 @ 210 lbs. 1…

Squats 10x45 lbs 3x85 lbs 5x5 125 lbs These felt pretty good today. I'm really trying to make sure form doesn't suffer as the weight goes up. I could feel my form going on the last couple of reps on the last set but other than that, they felt good. Row Did 5x5 at 75 lbs today again to work on form before I add more weight.…

Oh, and I was able to do 4 and 1/2  assisted pull-ups with the small purple band.

Squats 10 x 45 lbs 3 x 75 lbs 5 x 5 125 lbs but failed on the last rep of the last set. OHP 6 x 5 75 lbs 1 hour of power yoga Deads 5 x 135 lbs 5 x 185 lbs 1x5 205 lbs When I got done with yoga, I noticed a couple in their twenties at the squat rack. The woman was squatting 185 lb for triples like it was easy. And her…

[quote="canadianlbs;c-40861126" now that it's all over with, i can't get over the sheer off-ness of walking into somebody's space and starting to mess around with a bar they're already using, unasked. [/quote] Wow, what would make anyone think that is okay? There's a guy at my gym who is a regular and is almost always…

So, I had to roll out from under the bar on bench press for the first time today. It was easy enough to do. I went and did the boot camp class and then afterwards I wanted to see if I could go higher than 85 lbs on bench. I couldn't find the 2.5 lb weights so I put on 85 lb and did 3 reps just to make sure I was feeling…

Im 5'6, 37 years old. I'm currently 149 lbs. My goal weight range is 130-135 lbs.

This is me right now too. I've gained back the 5 lbs I had lost. Ugh.
-
Squats 10x45 lb 5x75 lb 5x5 120 lb. These felt pretty good. I feel like my depth is good but I still am feeling like I'm leaning forward a bit and would like to get more upright, if that makes sense. So, I'm gonna work on that. Bench 10x45 lb 5x5 85 lb These were fairly easy. I will try for 5x5 90 lb next time since I will…

Here's a video that shows what to do if you fail on bench without a spotter. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=bench+press+roll+of+shame&view=detail&mid=1F78F39FA8641CF706761F78F39FA8641CF70676&FORM=VIRE&PC=U316

I'm so sorry Amy. We just recently went through a rough diagnosis and hospice with my father-in-law. It sucks. Try to take care of yourself and come back when you are ready.

I use reverse grip for my deadlifts. It takes a little getting used to. I make sure that I switch which hand is over in which hand is under every set. It's easier for me to have my right hand under and left hand over so when I switch to the other way it throws me a little but I want to make sure that I stay balanced. Even…
