5'6, 37 yo, 146 lbs. I lose around 1 lb a week on 1450 calories (plus eating exersize calories so I often eat closer to 1700 calories).

I'm not a fan of cardio but I do a little (mostly because it gives me more calories  ). I enjoy lifting. Right now I'm doing SL 5x5 and adding accessories. I enjoy yoga too. I do yoga 2x a week, SL 3x a week, and a HIIT/strength interval class 2x a week.

Welxome Cadori. Lifted today for the first time in over a week. Bench 5x5 @ 85lbs, 1x4 @ 95lbs, 1x3 @ 100lbs OHP 5x5 @ 60lbs Skipped squats today because trainer yesterday had us doing tons of bodyweight and light weight squats and my legs couldn't handle more squats today. Instead, I did some hip thrusts in the smith…

I wanna see that.

I'm leaving in a couple days to go to the Dominican Republic. I will not be going to the gym while I'm there but we will be hiking, riding bikes, scuba diving, Etc

First day back lifting after more than a week off because of sickness. Got 5x5 at 95 pounds on bench so that felt good. Squats 5x95, 5x115, 5x135, 2x155 OHP 5x5 65 lbs Deads 5x145, 3x205, attempted 225 but it just didn't happen today. 5x5 assisted pull ups with the purple band. So it was an okay gym session, not great but…

I haven't been in the gym for 3 days now because of this nasty cold that I have. I have been doing some body weight stuff at home but not much. I was able to do 20 consecutive push-ups yesterday which I haven't been able to do in I don't know how long.
-
Hit my first 5 lb mini goal today and still have a week before our vacation. Yay. Right on track.
-
I did 20 consecutive push ups (real ones, not modified).

Yes, you should be eating back your exercise calories. How are you measuring your intake? Do you use a food scale and weigh all solids and use measuring cups for liquids? Also, the calories that you get for exercising can often be overestimated. I tend to eat about half of my exercise calories back and that works well for…

I have a massive cold that is kicking my butt so I haven't been to the gym in a couple of days.

Are you going somewhere fun?

I'll take your Snickers, I love them.

I work out 5 days a week, Monday through Friday. I do StrongLifts 5 by 5 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday. On Monday and Friday I also do one hour of Power Yoga. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I do a class at the gym that is 10 minutes HIIT followed by 40 minutes of strength interval training followed by another 10 minutes of HIIT.…

Starting Strength and StrongLifts 5x5 are probably the most recommended beginner programs.

Went to the gym last night instead of the morning which always means that I'm going to have to wait longer to get the squat rack. Did rows first and was able to do 5x5 at 95 lb. Then moved on to deads and got up to 1x5 at 205 lb. I have been doing 215 lb but I think I've been arching my back and my back has hurt for the…

Definitely work on form and get that down....it will benefit you a lot as you add weight.

What did you put in for how much you want to lose each week? 2 lbs per week is about as aggressive as you want to go. And 1200 calories per day is the minimum for women. If you're eating around 1500 calories and you're not feeling hungry then listen to your body and do what works for you.
-
MFP calculates the calories that you should be consuming using NEAT which is your non-exercise activity level. So, basically the calories that you burn everyday excluding exercise. You should be eating at least some of your exercise calories back also. I shoot for eating half of my exercise calories back because calories…

We're you doing any lifting before? You can usually continue with what you were doing before but it's usually recommended not to start anything new. Like krok said, talk to your doctor ir midwife and listen to your body. You probably will have to make some adjustments.

I'm 5'6, 37 years old and started at 152 lbs with a goal of 130-135 lbs. I'm eating at about 1500 calories a day and eat back half of my exersize calories also (I lift heavy 3 times a week, do yoga 2 times a week, and do a hiit/boot camp type of class 2 times a week). I've been losing a little less than 1 lb a week. I am…

2 new PR's tonight. My husband went to the gym with me so I had a spotter and he kept pushing me to do more. 115 lbs on bench and 155 lbs on squat. I can officially squat more than I weigh....can't wait until my bench gets there (but that'll be a while).
-
Tried to push myself on bench today. Almost had to do the roll of shame but I (barely) got that 105 lbs up. That's my PR so far.
-
I'm sorry, how incredibly frustrating.
-
I tend to go for lots of veggies when I don't have many calories left. I like a large bowl of zucchini noodles with hot sauce on them
-
I forgot to check in after I lifted yesterday. I went to the gym in the evening instead of the morning which was a bad idea because it was packed and it took an hour for me to get the single squat rack that we have at our gym but once I got it I decided to really push myself on squats because they've just been so lacking…

I log my yoga under cardio. I do power yoga. MFP gives me 120 calories for an hour and I generally aim to eat back half of my exersize calories.
-
1 g per lb of lean body mass should be sufficient

Thanks. I'm eating these right now as an afternoon snack since I knew there was no way I was going to get to my protein levels today without sime help.

Maybe what I'm really asking is, why after eating breakfast (which I normally don't eat - perhaps I should have mentioned that in the first place?) am I so hungry? When I start eating for the day, I tend to want to keep eating and feel hungry after I've started eating. This is one of the reasons that I started doing IF.…
