  • Ok, let's see if this works. https://photos.app.goo.gl/zmkPHdH3rn6zYhMt1
  • I also use Strong Lifts 5x5. I have the app on my phone and it tells me exactly what to do. If you don't feel comfortable with free weights, get a session with a trainer if you can and have them go over all the lifts with you. Strong Lifts only uses 5 different lifts. Squats, overhead press, barbell row, bench press, and…
  • I've also got a cold and it sucks. I was really tempted to stay home today but I made myself go to the gym and I'm glad that I did. 1x10 @ 45lbs + 1x5 @ 65lbs + 5x5 @ 105lbs for squats. Squats are thankfully starting to feel a little easier, like I don't want to die every time and I'm not dreading them quite as much. 5x5 @…
  • I'm also in a calorie deficit as I'm still working on losing 10-15 lbs. I try to get a good amount of protein in before my workouts but I still find myself lightheaded sometimes (mostly with squats). I've been meaning to bring a snack (handful of almonds or something) with me to the gym but I keep forgetting. I've started…
  • You can do this! My goal is to squat 135 lbs by the end of the year.
  • Today I had to ride my bike to the gym because my vehicle is in the shop. It's only 4 miles from my house to the gym and the way there was fine, although cold, but on the way back my legs are hating me. Today's set was... 4x5 @ 60lb + 1x3 @ 60lb for OP 2x5 @ 45lb + 1x5 @ 65lb + 5x5 @ 100lb squats 1x5 @ 135lb + 1x5 @ 165lb…
  • 5'6 Current range is 145-150.. Goal range is 130-135 but I'm currently focusing on weight training and not worrying about the scale too much. Once I get to where I want to be with lifting, I may focus on cutting a bit. Current calories are 1400-1500 a day so some recomp may happen anyway. If I lose some inches and gain…
  • The yoga classes offered at my gym are open for anyone, at any level. They have mats there if you don't have one to bring and they also have blocks for anyone to use. When you go just let the instructor know that you're new to yoga. Our instructor always gives options to either make the move easier or more difficult…

  • Putting a 1" block under my heels while squatting helps me get deeper. I have a hard time with balance when I'm doing bodyweight squats and actually find it much easier with weight on the bar. When you do move up to using a bar, don't use a Smith machine. It makes things harder. Just start in the squat rack.
  • Didn't want To go to the gym today but I made myself. Mondays and Fridays are my yoga days and I typically get part of my weight routine done before yoga and part of it after. Today I did barbell row 5 x 5 at 85 lb. I'm going to do 85 lb again next time as it was pretty difficult today and I didn't feel like the movement…
  • First off, I hate squats. Put 95 lb on for squats today and I failed on two sets. I almost got all of my sets for my overhead press with 60 lb. I only got four on the last set but I still felt pretty good about it. Deadlift was 155 lb today.
  • I'm just gonna say that you made those look easy. I'll let the other ladies talk form since I feel like I don't know if I do them right.
  • I did some reverse pull ups (or whatever they're called) yesterday after my work out and was surprised at how hard they were. I will eventually be able to do pull ups. Way to go on the first day.
  • Hi all, I'm going to jump in and join you. I've been doing StrongLifts for about 3 weeks now. I've been working on my form for squats, trying to get to at least parallel or a little below parallel so I had to take some weight off to work on that. Today I finally got back up to the weight I was at before which still isn't…
  • K, thanks. There is a gym here at our apartment complex and it does have a squat rack. I'll download the app. I'm ready to start workin and getting strong again.
  • You look amazing, sis. I'm gonna try to start doing more weight training but I'm a bit intimidated since I don't know what I'm doing. Is stronglifts 5x5 something I can do on my own?
  • Banana pancakes. Mash up a banana and stir in an egg. Then you can add whatever you want to that. I usually do some chia seeds, cinnamon, and vanilla. Then cook like you would pancakes and put some peanut butter on them. I also like to do chia seeds and some shredded coconut and almond extract but the coconut of course…
  • I'm 5'6 and currently weigh 141. My goal is 130 lbs and then I will see if that is sustainable and reasonable. My lowest weight was about 120 and I looked fine at that weight but I know it is just not do-able for me at this stage of my life.

  • I just went back and looked at my weight for the first of March and it was 141, not the 139 I had down so I changed that on here.
  • I'm in....maybe this will help me stay motivated. • I'm 5'6 and currently weigh 139. At my healthiest, I was 125 lbs and would love to get back there again but don't know that it's realistic at this point in my life. When I was 125 lbs I was late teens, single, no kids and worked out at least an hour every day. Now, I'm almost 34, am married and have birthed 3 kids. My body…
  • Lots of good suggestions so far. The only thing I can add is for him to get in a couple of snacks during the day. Send protein bars, nuts, etc. with him to work so he can snack on them during the day.
  • The bible does not encourage spanking your child. The rod was an instrument used by a shepherd to protect and guide his sheep, it was not used to hit them.
  • I didn't read this whole thread because honestly I get a little intense about things like this so I'm just going to give my opinion to the OP. I don't agree with spanking. It doesn't make sense to me and I think that it teaches the child that hitting is an acceptable way to solve a problem and there are numerous studies…
  • I'd give it a little time since you just stopped breastfeeding. Your body needs to get used to it's new normal. Just remember, breastfeeding burns about 500 calories a day so you're not getting that extra burn anymore.
  • I've been a stay at home mom for 5 years and I love it. I never had a job that I was passionate about before having kids but when we had kids, I realized that they were where my passion was. For me, being a stay at home mom is harder (emotionally) than being a working mom (I worked for about a year after my first child was…
  • I have been a stay at home mom for over 5 years now and I love it. It's hard and you have to be disciplined to get stuff done during the day. I homeschool my kids so that's half of our day.
