  • Hi Babynia ! I'm recently back on MFP after a baby and a year of eating non-stop, yikes. But I did lose about 60lbs a few years ago and I'm back at it now. I'm on 1200 calories, i'm 5'4 and have about 70 lbs to lose. You have every right to be frustrated. You are counting your calories and trying to stick with your daily…
  • JEN, I feel your pain, I'm basically going through the same thing. I've been eating about 1900-2000 cals since the end of the 1st tri and just in the last few weeks the pounds are packing on !!! I'm really not doing anything different so the only thing I can think of is that the baby is just keeping more of what I consume…
  • Hey Melissa, Still plenty of time to turn. My LO was flipping all over the place still until just about 5 days ago. If you're worried, check out spinningbabies.com for safe techniques to encourage the baby to get into the right position.
  • Hi Everyone, Sorry I've been awol lately. Ronya, Danielle, Julz - sooo close now, I'm excited for you !!!! Just a quick update and I'll be back to read about you guys later..... I'm 34+ weeks now, we hired a Doula and I'm very excited about that. The nursery is coming together, crib, stroller, car seat are all at the ready…
  • Elizabeth J - wow, that's a lot of stress leading up the ultrasound. Hoping that your baby is healthy and well next week Ronya - sorry you keep being sick Julz - what's an NST and an IFA ?? Well done finishing your classes! Yay for a shower space Mamarandall - so happy for you, congrats on your baby girl :flowerforyou:…
  • Rachel - fingers crossed for you, too be about the infection, FIVE ! that's just crazy. Wondering something - will you bother with the cervical check next time? I've heard over and over that they are almost useless and trying to decide if I will decline them ( unless there is a medical need) Jen - Yuk, sharing a needle…
  • Seconding the journal/scrapbook idea, very cute and she'll be "involved" with the baby too. Maybe you could give her a handmade "coupon" for an afternoon with you in the near future. Once you can leave the baby with family for a few hours, you and her can go to a movie or get your nails done or something. Just the two of…
  • Marie - welcome, I'm originally from the UK too, Norfolk but have lived in the States now for ages. Your weight gain thus far is really good, well done reigning it in after a big gain in the first tri! 1600 sounds right for maintenance as well but you could try adding a few hundred cals as you progress and see how it goes.…
  • Oh Yeah, Julz - you reminded me, my sis is sending out the shower invites this week and I'm excited !!!!! A mutual friend offered to host it in her loft which is sooo awesome. I cannot wait ! Hope you find a good venue soon - community center? private room in the town library?
  • Hey Ronya, sorry you are having a crappy day :ohwell: Stacy - we are going to try the G Diapers - you buy outer covers and then can choose from either cloth or biodegradable disposable inserts. I think that at first, for newborn, I'll do eco friendly regular disposables though because of issues I've heard of with the cloth…
  • salmonella is in or on MOST chicken and turkey you can buy in the US, has been for years. Just cook it thoroughly and don't cross contaminate and you'll be fine.
  • Hi Elizabeth - they might get the heartbeat if they use the vaginal ultrasound. I could hear mine that way at 7 weeks. Hope it all looks good !

  • Hey Everyone, sorry I got so behind, I can't bear the thought of going back and commenting on about 10 pages of posts so I'm just going to jump on in today as though I were never gone sorry :blushing: Melissa - I've had some pains when exercising as well. On Saturday I was swiming and I got a cramp/contraction really low…
  • I did this quite successfully (before I got pregnant  ) I would focus on getting 1200 x 7 per week in an uneven amt per day so for example I would do: Monday - 900 cals Tuesday - 1500 cals Wednesday - 1200 cals Thursday - 900 cals Friday - 1500 cals Saturday - 1200 cals Sunday - 1200 cals Or something along those…

  • Happy Friday !!! For those of you up for my baby weight challenge - I gained 1 lb this week so hopefully some of you lost a lb. If you missed it last week my challenge was for you guys to lose as much as I'm gaining  I've got about 13 weeks to go and expect to put on another 8-10 lbs or so. Good luck !!!!!! Nancy -…
  • It has nothing to do with tiredness, it's your body trying to get more oxygen. Yawning excessively means that your workout might be a little too challenging in the cardio dept. Focus on deeper breathing or take it down a notch.
  • How can you tell the difference between hiccups and other movement?
  • Allison...............-1.6...............weight previously lost Lauren..............-1.5...............weight previously lost Meokk..............+12.8..............    Hi ladies - just swinging by to see how you are all doing. I see the group is pretty slow moving these days - where is…
  • Jen - sorry you had to go through that, I would have been scared to death :flowerforyou: Don't stress about the gain. I think that you can still meet your goal of only 30lbs total. The gains seems to come in waves for me. e.g. I was up 3 lbs in one weeks but have only gained 1/2 lb in the last 3 weeks. You're doing great…
  • Ahhh, sorry Brittony, I knew better :blushing:
  • Welcome! Elle - I think most of us set our calories to maintenance for the first trimester rather than any sort of loss goal. My midwife encourage me to NOT add the 300 cals in 2nd & 3rd tri because I started out overweight. She also wants me to only gain 20lbs max in total. She is monitoring me and as long as baby is…
  • Wow Jules, sounds like lots of reasons to induce and no real reasons not to. I think I'd get on with it if I were you. :flowerforyou:
  • Hi Everyone, Sorry too busy to read since Tuesday and I'm sure I've missed loads Julie - fill me in - why are you thinking of having your water broken and not just waiting for natural progression? I'll have time to read back later tonight.....see you later !!! Oooh - I just noticed I hit the 100 days to go mark !!!!!
  • Anyone else getting tons of friend requests from strangers with no message in the request?? I'm declining them all and it's getting annoying. Not a single one of them has had any type of interaction with me ever.....
  • Oh and Julie - get that baby out !!!!
  • Rachel - LMK how the Doula meeting goes, I'm thinking of having one too. Nursery is super cute !!!! Melissa - the Boppy Wedge is not the C shaped one, it's shaped like a chunk of Edam cheese. If you google it you will see what I mean. Yep, my first baby too! JenZ is due around the same time too. Rachael - Sorry about your…
  • I was hoping there would be one or two babies born by this morning......sorry ladies, hang in there   Well off to a party in a few mins where there will be lots of delicious ribs, yummy and I'm taking oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, assam tea cookies and a quinoa salad so that's all I've been doing this…
  • Rachael - sorry to hear about your grandpa, I hope he goes painlessly. :flowerforyou: Oh and that's one freaky dream..... Lindsay - We went to Hawaii in May. I would recommend a direct flight if you can get one but most flights to HI stop in LA or SF on the way. I was about 18 weeks at the time and the travel was…
